Verdura® — a fully plantable retaining wall system, Caltrans approved, for sound/​screen walls, streambank protection and more. And, Enviroflex® — a tapered, interlocking articulating concrete block (ACB) revetment system for channels, culvert outlets and wetland traffic crossings and more.

History

Established in 1987.

Founder Jan Jansson has been working in the construction industry since 1964! He started his career in carpentry school, then went on to earn an Engineering degree. Then in 1969 started his own construction company in Sweden.

In 1987, after moving to America with his family, Jan opened a franchise in Riverside County California to manufacture and distribute plantable retaining wall blocks.

Jan soon recognized the need to build a more durable, versatile and better plantable retaining wall block. After extensive research and development, Jan and his development team created a new block called Verdura® — a fully plantable retaining wall system that can be used in many applications from small garden walls to large commercial structures.

Soil Retention continued to grow and added two more products Drivable Grass® a permeable grass paver for driveways, parking, fire lanes and more. And, Enviroflex® an articulating concrete block (ACB) revetment system for channels and more.
