My husband and I spent WEEKS picking out a sofa, and another two weeks pondering our purchase from Skylars before we jumped in and bought it. Our largest concern was that we have two dogs that are sofa friendly– they literally only lie on it with us and nothing else, but we needed a material that was durable, and could hide their hair. We thought we found that perfect solution, but we were terribly wrong. Now from all of the previous reviews I am sure that we had a fluke scenario however it up to this point has not been handled to par whatsoever. We LOVED our sectional at first, until about 3 months in it started pilling really bad (now I had to look up pilling because I have NEVER had it happen or seen it happen to furniture in my life– and I have never owned nice furniture) I called the store to ask what I am supposed to do and they told me to buy a pilling razor, so I did. Now ever sense I have had to shave my entire sofa, once a week, which takes THREE HOURS each time. Then, we started having some major material malfunctions. It was busting at the seams. I sent them out and about 2 weeks later got them back only to find that their solution to the holes and busting was to entirely ignore the pillows I sent in that were ABOUT to bust, the ones that already had holes, sew over 4 or 5 times so that you could feel how thick the new stitching was, and they did not even clean the cushions before sending them back to me– which I could care less but shows the poor care that was taken. So I complained a third time, and was told to bring all of my cushions with issues to San Diego. Well I work full time and that was a majority of my sectional which I had already been without for weeks once before, so when I finally did get down there, I came prepared with about 40 photos, I completely took apart my sofa and found that not only was the material not up to the durability standards I was told, but that half of the stitching was done CROOKED. SO I brought in all my photos, one pillow to show just how excessive the pilling is (it gets so bad by the end of the week that it feels scratchy, looks cheap, and looks WAY older than it is– which is still less than a year old!!), and one cover of a cushion to show the poor workmanship. They spent maybe 10 minutes talking to me and only told me to email them the photos to send to the manufacturer but then informed me that material is not covered in the warranty. A two year warranty but the material which is 90% of the sofa is not covered? So I also sent a LONG and DETAILED letter about my experience thus far and that we will only accept one of three options, for the sofa to be reupholstered in a different, and durable material like we were told this one was, an entirely replaced sofa with thus material, or a full refund. We figured we would give them one final opportunity to make it right. My response was that my dogs voided the warranty. The warranty that we were specifically told would not be voided by our dogs unless they chewed on it. And the warranty that apparently did not exist for material– the conflicting information is ridiculous. They offered to pick the entire thing up to inspect if to repair the areas that one should have already been repaired. The damage is not the issue, its what is CAUSING the damage, which is material that is not as durable as we need nor were told that it was, and shotty workmanship. They claimed they would drop off a loaner sofa, but I do not have time to be dealing with all that hassle for a maybe, and my experience so far with things being «fixed» have been poor and I simply cannot accept that. Somehow, between a 2 year manufacturer warranty, and a 5 year protection plan that we paid I believe 500 $ for, fixing this issue is not covered. We were told we were getting a durable material and that any issues with it would be covered and so far all we have gotten is crap and excuses. We are beyond livid. Skylars has pretty stuff and is probably meant for people that dont actually sit on their furniture and use it for show– and you know what, thats just FINE! But we did not pay this much money for this quality nor this much trouble. If I was expecting my sofa to only last a year I would have bought one used or from freaking Big Lots or something. But at this rate the entire thing is going to be dissolved to nothing before the useless 2 year warranty is even up and making the 500 $ protection plan we bought even more useless. Absolutely ridiculous. I hope an owner or someone of higher authority than their customer service reps in San Diego sees this and does whats RIGHT and fixes this situation or gives us the full refund we deserve.

I purchased a patio set from Styler Patio over six years ago. The cushions are still in fantastic condition even though I leave them out in the hot TEMECULA sun all year long. This year the support straps lost their elasticity so I called the store and Brittany immediately contacted the manufacturer and for a very nominal cost all were replaced and my furniture feels just like new again. Thank you Skyler for your fantastic customer service and standing behind your product even beyond the warrenty period. I will recommend you to all my friends and family!

Purchased a few things from Skylars Carlsbad and the customer service (Virginia) and quality of the furniture is second to none. I recommend this to everyone needing new ideas. Thanks

We are looking for lots of furniture for our new home and decided to check out Skylar’s during President’s Day weekend. Sandy and Priscilla were so helpful and kind and p a t i e n t! They offered an in-​home design consultation which was ultimately what helped us decide to purchase 2 sofas from them (1 custom sectional and a cool curved couch). We look forward to receiving the furniture and putting the quality to the test. The showroom is smaller than I expected but you’ll find lots of great ideas and they’ve laid out the space nicely with some beautiful pieces to fit many needs and budgets. The patio furniture is also beautiful — I am definitely going to be a regular at this place until my home is furnished!

UPDATE: Our couch was finally delivered a few days after my last review, and the quality is great. It is incredibly comfortable and looks great in our living room. Their service and communication has also improved. It was raining the day it was delivered and the couch got pretty wet on one end, but to their credit the delivery guys came back in after leaving because one of them had noticed this (we had not at first.) Support called later that day to see if anything needed to be done to remedy the situation, but the couch dried with no lasting effects, so it was all good. Their manager also called and offered a store credit to make up for the initial poor communication. Stuff happens and we’re all human, and most importantly they clearly want to fix their mistakes. Their products are very good and I would definitely shop here again. Furniture sales cannot be an easy business, and overall they do a better job than most.

Not impressed with the post-​sale experience so far. The initial sale was a positive experience, but after the money was paid, they seemed to forget about us, and we still haven’t heard anything about our couch — not even a simple status update. It’s been over 6 weeks, which is more than their written estimate for delivery — and the sales person initially told us 4 weeks. I’ve called/​emailed customer service 3 – 4 times for status and left messages, and have heard nothing back. When I spend this much money on a large piece of custom furniture, I expect much more communication and service.

I highly recommend using Skylar’s Home & Patio for furnishing your home. I bought multiple pieces and I love everyone of them! I wasn’t sure what I wanted to go with and Pricilla and the staff there did an excellent job in helping me find what would work best in my home and I LOVE the result! Great customer service and beautiful furniture! I will definitely be going back to Skylar’s when I need furniture again!

CHEAP furniture — NOT in a good way! We’ve had our living room furniture for only a few months and the cushions are all flat and misshapen! The most UNCOMFORTABLE furniture I’ve ever owned! Don’t waste your money! Our former COSTCO furniture lasted and wore much, much better for years!
UPDATE: Skylar’s came and picked up our sofa. They said they sent it back to the manufacturer in LA and had it «restuffed». It came back looking better but still somewhat misshapen. We’ve had it back for only several days now and the cushions are ALREADY sunken in and flat again! So much for purchasing furniture we thought would last years. Too bad I can’t post pics! WE WANT OUR MONEY BACK!

I have bought several items from Skylar’s…always a great experience from start to finish. I have also referred my clients to them and they have nothing but good things to say. I recommend them every time to anyone looking for indoor or outdoor furniture.

I have been meaning to go in here for a long time, but my house is done, and my yard has just recently been (mostly) finished. So I held off on spending til I had the yard to decorate, and I don’t need any other décor in my home, whatsoever. And I knew from what I saw online and from reviews, that I would be able to do some damage to my bank acct in here.
I checked in on Unilocal and got a 10% Coupon! But not on sale items. And I bought a little patio set on sale, so I am saving the coupon for next time, on a big ticket item that is not on sale.
Lots of cute stuff, looks pretty legit. I have heard nothing but good things about Skylar’s and they’ve even expanded to down in Mira Mesa area, so business must be good, meaning they probably turn out a quality experience overall, from products to customer service.
The gals that helped me were all friendly and accommodating. There is a delivery service available.

Gorgeous furnishings for indoor and outdoor spaces. Went in today to buy a pillow to try with our existing outdoor set. Was able to bring 4 pillows home with me to see if I liked them and left cc info with Virginia who said I could just call in rather than come back in to let her know if they worked. Well, they worked and in the mean time I found this 10% off coupon on Unilocal so I asked her if I could use it on one of the pillows. She said yes. Minutes later she called back and let me know she found a 20% off one item coupon and let me know she would apply that one instead. Now that is customer service! Very, very happy!

I bought my sectional from Skylars and I couldn’t be happier. Priscilla has an eye for design, she helped me with figuring out the fabric of the sectional, pillows and ottoman and I just love the outcome. Brent double checked our order and made sure the delivery was a breeze. My whole experience was wonderful and would highly recommend Skylars to anyone!

I was looking to furnish a new home with several large, expensive pieces of furniture but I didn’t want to spend Pottery Barn or Restoration Hardware prices. I found Skyler’s through a friend and my overall experience with them has been great. We worked with their team to find a giant sectional and buffet, and because their customer service and prices were so amazing, we went back to buy our patio set and several other home pieces. The team is great to work with and they have terrific follow thru. It felt great to buy locally and support such a wonderful business.

I have gone back to them on numerous occasions as the sales staff is very friendly, helpful and professional. They always know the right resources to fill my requests, large or small. I worked with Jenna at Skyar’s. She was attentive, patient, had great ideas, and overall great customer service. She even came to our home to take measurements. Jenna really listened and understood what we wanted. We have not gotten the furniture yet (just ordered it). but I know we will love it and can’t wait to see what it looks like in our home. Jenna was a pleasure to work with!

Had a great experience here with the short brunet girl i didn’t catch her name but She was very helpful, knowledgable and friendly. I normally hate to go shopping but she made my experience enjoyable and stress free. i will be telling all my friend and family to come here when purchasing furniture.

The lady who helped me was super thorough and sweet– Jenny? They have amazing household items that you will fall in love with! Some of it is so extraordinary (and pricy), but you’ll know yours is unique and one of a kind!
If you have money to drop on furniture, do it here. Their pieces are amazing. The store seems to be run by a family, or appears to be. They all are super nice. Yay for small busnisses!

Just bought a house with an odd shaped room– wasn’t sure what to do with it. Went into Skylars and and was blown away with the time and care they put into helping me. They offered to come over and mesure out the space and had ideas I never even thought of! I know have two beautiful love seats and it’s my favorite room in the house!
