San Sai Japanese Grill

I’ve actually never walked around this outdoor shopping center before and I stumbled upon this place. At first I was a bit skeptical of this place seeing as it is a fast food Japanese restaurant. Sushi and fast food don’t seem to go together, which is actually why I stayed away from ordering sushi at this place however it did look delicious. I think the way to go here are the lunch specials. I think I paid about $ 9.50 and I got chicken teriyaki over brown rice, a bowl of miso soup, with five potstickers. I was completely full at the end of the meal so I would say it’s a pretty good value.
Service was fast and the seating area has bar seating, tables and also a few booths. It’s cafeteria style so you get to pick wherever you’d like. I would say compared to other fast food places like Thai, Chinese, Indian and mongolian… This place hangs right there with them.

I’m not sure why they have such negative reviews because I found the food quite fresh and tasty and very inexpensive. I got there early for lunch and it soon became quite crowded. For $ 10 I ate quite a lot of food.

Having a lunch alone before Shopping, Nice combo, everything is delicious! Only $ 11.84! Yum!

I waited over 25 minutes for my food. This is unacceptable for restaurant who is supposed to be fast. There were orders behind me with the same dish that came out. When I cancelled my order there was no sincere apology. Sansai has lost my business for good.

A special treat to eat at this place after a day at an outlet mall, this place is always full! Great lunch combos and all of the salads are fantastic! Yes, I said salads at a sushi place are fantastic! The people working here are very accommodating, we have visited several times!

I’ve been to a lot of sansai but this is my fav one because they have lunch menu. I wish they have a drive thru but other then that I’m super happy with them. Great food and staff!!! Around $ 10 I normal get chick teriyaki rice salad and pot stickers. Yummy!!!

I’m Visiting from out of town and I’m usually a healthy eater so I was looking for something healthy. The owner, I believe, went out of her way to make me a special fresh spring roll. They tasted amazing and in about 10 minutes she came to check on us and how they tasted. The peanut sauce was delicious as well, not too sweet but enough. The kumi salad was delicious with a great crunch as well as the brown rice, chicken breast, steak, soup and cucumber salad was very fresh. THIS PLACE IS OUTSTANDING! We ordered 2 more of everything for later, and will be back tomorrow before our flight. Great Quality and Reasonable prices! Thank you SANSAI !! we will be back!

I’m disappointed. Was looking forward to rainbow roll and California roll. Both rolls had almost no avocado. I had to really dig for it. Who ever made these rolls got really stingy with the avocado. Not sure if that’s why but rolls tasted below average. Even my kids who love California roll did not eat it all. Aside from this the place is clean. Pretty empty for a Sunday evening but I liked that today since service would have taken much longer.

I am completely satisfied by this Japanese sort of fast-​food joint. I say fast-​food because my friends and I received our order pretty quickly. Also, the ambience is definitely casual and cool. Got to talk to the main chef, and he is pretty nice!
The food, though, is the main event. We ordered shrimp tempura, California roll, teriyaki chicken, vegetable rolls, and teriyaki beef. Everything was delicious. If I had to give a suggestion, I would say to try the beef! The fresh, grilled beef taste is simply divine. The California rolls were very filling. The prices are cheap, which gives me even more reason to come here when I’m craving Japanese.
Try this place out! Fast and yummy, it’s a great place for one to fulfill his Japanese craving.

Clean atmosphere. Great customer service even when it’s super busy. I love how it’s super close to work, so if i’m craving it I can just go and if I get really stuffed I can walk around the outlet mall. Salads always look so fresh and delicious. The guy’s who make the sushi have their own station in the front so you can see everything that’s going on which is cool, and also puts me at ease, knowing that it really is fresh. Food comes out in an appropriate amount of time, and is delicious with each bite.

Russ helped me out today and delivered excellent survice! I’ve been here a few times and the staff is great, very clean and the food is amazing. I got the rainbow roll and edimame. Will definitely come back!

Far above our expectations, and to think it’s in an outlet mall! We totally enjoyed the shrimp & veggie tempura, but it ALL looked good.

I ordered the shrimp and chicken with oriental salad and two rolls. When leaving i didn’t feel bloated what so ever! Which is a plus on my side!
Customer service was great, as well as there method of training there new hires!
Shrimp was perfectly grill not burned
Chicken had a crisp in every bite
My favorite part had to be that they provide customers with there salad on display!
Not over dressed in sauce nor wilted leaves! Can we say cris-​pay!

Ordered a couple of chicken teriyaki combos. For the price, it came with some nice extras like a California Roll, miso soup and a choice of one of four salads.
I got the order to go and it took about 2 – 4 minutes to get the food. It was a short 5 – 10 minute drive home and I was ready to eat. The miso was hot and tasty. Maybe a bit too salty but it was manageable. The rice was hot too. What wasn’t hot was the chicken. Not sure how that works. The chicken must have been sitting out and they just threw the sauce on top. On a scale of ice cold to fresh off the grill, it was a tad below room temperature. That’s a bummer because it was tasty.
The California Roll was meh and the cucumber salad was too peppery.
This is the first time I’ve had cold chicken teriyaki that wasn’t a leftover meal.

This is a fast-​food sushi/​Japanese restaurant.
Going with a 3 stars because everyone was super friendly and helpful. And the miso soup had chunks of tofu.
I got the sushi special box which comes with 3 tuna, 3 salmon, 2 shrimp, 2 eel, and a choice of miso soup or salad. However, while the sushi looked delicious it was just okay.
There was too much sauce on the eel so I couldn’t taste it. The tuna and shrimp had no taste. And the soy sauce from the pitcher (extra soy sauce you can serve yourself) tasted like vinegar.
On the plus side — the sushi rice wasn’t too vinegar and everything is prepared when you order it.
I’ll give them another try because they have lunch specials and an assortment of salads.

The food is cheap and tasty. The sushi it is not so good as other places but it is fine (Size and taste)
The plate of tempura vegetables with shrimp it is not so bad. The shrimp is very small and the vegetables just comes with 3 types of vegetables. The rice it is not so tasty as well the salad and it comes with miso soup that I didn’t try it so, I can’t comment about it.
Crunchy roll is very delicious but Tiger sushi not too much, not so tasty.
The service of the restaurant is excellent! and very clean as well.

San Sai does it right when it comes to ‘fast-​food’ asian. A sushi chef is right there at all times, the place is pretty clean (even during lunch hour) and even if the line to order is a bit long, it normally goes pretty fast. What I, personally, like about this restaurant is. .. I can order a kid’s chicken plate (teriyaki chicken and rice — white or brown — with a side — egg rolls or potstickers) for only $ 5. It used to come with a drink, but unfortunately not any more.
I work a few stores down from them, so when it’s my lunch break (½ hour) I just call ahead, order and pick it up within 10 minutes.
It’s a pretty healthy option, quick and inexpensive. :)

We needed a quick, tasty and relatively cheap meal on our way home from Disneyland this past weekend, and this is where we ended up.
I’d never been to any of these restaurants before, so I had no idea what to expect. My husband, who works around the area, has been a few times, and made the decision that this would be our dinner spot for the evening.
That was fine with me, as I’m always down for Asian-​y type foods, and their menu looked promising. The Unilocal ratings gave me pause, but my husband was already turning into a parking spot when I saw them, and I didn’t want to hunt for another food option, so I figured I’d swallow any fears and give it a try.
We got there about an hour before closing, so they were already starting to close up shop. (An hour seems a bit intense, and I wasn’t loving the trash cans pulled out of the containers and just sitting next to the menu holder…)
It took a bit for me to decide on what I wanted. It was a toss-​up between a salad and a soup, so of course I went with the Yakisoba chicken plate. Because I’m UN-​pre-​dick-​table! My husband got the seared Ahi tuna salad and we shared an iced tea.
The place wasn’t packed, but there was a large group of rowdy late-​teens at one end of the restaurant, so we chose to huddle at the opposite end. I had to visit the ladies room before we got our meal, and I was glad to see that it was clean and didn’t smell horrible. (My standards aren’t so high, right?)
The food didn’t exactly come out quickly, but I took that to be a good sign; everything would be fresh, right?
My noodle plate came with two sides; I chose the cucumber seaweed salad and a bowl of miso soup. My husband’s salad came with wasabi and ginger. I immediately dove into the cucumber seaweed salad, which was surprisingly delicious. I couldn’t make myself stop eating it, even when I noticed the steam coming off of the noodles and the soup. I’m a huge fan of seaweed salads, and I love most things cucumber, but I never would have thought to put the two together. They created a tasty and light salad that I’d go back for any day.
The yakisoba was okay. It wasn’t the best I’d ever had, but it was fresh, at least. I didn’t like the chicken that they used — to pay an extra dollar for breast meat, I was expecting something a little more flavorful and juicy. The meat they used was thin and dry. Also, they were a little too heavy on the cabbage and vegetables, and way too stingy with the noodles. Yakisoba is supposed to be a noodle dish, not a sautéed vegetable dish with a hint of noodles.
My husband did like the salad, but went a little overboard with the wasabi (why do guys insist on putting so much on their food that their eyes start to water and their noses instantly start running?!)
The service was good — the two people we encountered were friendly and helpful, and at least everything was fresh. If we go back, I’d definitely go with the cucumber salad and try a different main entrée option.
