San Diego Gas and Car Wash is one of many locations throughout San Diego. Established in 1996, Carmel Valley is one of our first locations followed by Encinitas, El Camino, 4S Ranch, Eastlake, Leucadia, Pico Rivera, and our latest and newest location; Carlsbad. Our location not only started off as a gas station but other services too such as oil change, car wash, detail and more.

Not a very good Car wash. It open air so the wax floats away, the rinse cycle is poor (had soap still on my vehicle), and no air hose or rags to wipe down left over water from dry cycle. This a super quick wash. Do not expect much
. Also the turn in space to get in is poor so only compact cars will have an easy time.

The gas is good. They have a lot of pumps and the prices are reasonably cheap. My only problem with here is the car wash. It sucks. I had to go through twice because the soap wasn’t rinsed off properly. I didn’t feel my car was that clean and saw lots of water spots after. They also put you on a moving belt so you can’t slow down for the dryer so your car often comes out wet. I can appreciate their wanting to conserve water by reusing it but at some point, you do need to change it. Finally, each time I went through, I ended up with blue painters tape on my car. I don’t know how or why but that was annoying to find.

Beware for shark fin antenna damage on the top of your SUV’s in the car wash. A really expensive repair. Could have paid for a mobile service many times over. I discovered that drive through washes are notorious for this type of damage. Bummer. I loved the convenience, the great price of gas with the wash… didn’t have to wait in Costco line.

Have been coming here since this place opened. I have two cars that I frequently get gas, carwashes, detailed here. Unfortunately, on my last visit the carwash operator did not tape down the back windshield wiper on my new SUV and the carwash ripped it off. Over the past three weeks I’ve visited the carwash twice, called three times seeking reimbursement for the wiper. On my last phone call today, the owner told the nice girl to tell me, «no, I’m not paying for it.»
I respect your decision; however, I will never return to your place of business.

Having no patience for waiting in the never-​ending gas line at Costco for cheap gas, I made my way down Palomar Airport Road. BOOM! Cheaper gas than other stations.
Brand new station which means it’s not too filthy yet.
Prices were great, pulled right in, filled up my car… and I was on my way. Done and done!

This gas station is pretty much like all shells, with the debit/​credit pay option and the TV interface that pops up after you pay at each gas pump. This shell is located conveniently in Carlsbad off of Palomar Airport Road. Overall this place is convenient and offers good gas prices. Also if your car needs to be cleaned there’s a car wash here :)

I need to share my positive experience getting my oil changed. Normally I pay over $ 100 to get a synthetic Oil change :(These guys hooked me up. 10% off for being a repeat customer and a 15 dollar rebate from Castrol Oil. Plus a free car wash I was in and out in 20 minutes. Really great service.

Luis is the best! I love Shell gas! I love awesome customer service & you get that here and a whole lot more! Savings on gas! $.20 OFF PER GALLON with a car wash that’s PRICED GREAT! I didn’t feel smothered here with upgrades but got great info, great wash & I’ll happily be back for a full custom wash! Awesome drive thru-​car wash, vacuuming until my heart’s content (prior to giving it to guys to wash… Argh kids!) Luis is the best example of customer service & they only want customers happy! My new car wash home!

Get your gas somewhere else. The pumps automatically stop at $ 50 when paying by credit card. You will get short changed on any rewards you are trying to use and have compete multiple transactions.
I thought this was a one off the first time it happened and the lady behind the counter said it was a glitch and that they were trying to correct it. Same thing happened again a few months later and the same attendant acted like she knew nothing about it.
The car wash is pretty much worthless and there is cheaper had two blocks away at AM/​PM.

i used their car wash for the first time… its cool because the machine moves the car for you on neutral.
Im such a nerd… i forgot to close my sun roof all the way and it started to drip in my car… I was like «OMG wtf kind of car wash is this??» haha i cracked up so hard in the car.
No wonder the guy said «make sure ALLL your windows are closed»
Anyways… my favorite gas station because its the cheapest gas in San Diego — even cheaper if you get a 5 $ car wash! right now with the car wash its $ 2.86 a gallon! i know riiiight!!!
Aannd there’s this mannequin in front of the dry cleaners shop next to shell. Scares me cz i think its a real lady.

I started purchasing gas here about 3 months ago. Best gas prices in Carlsbad. Today I had my car washed and waxed. They did a fantastic job! They cleaned up all the dog hair and got off all the tree wax. They even washed my floor mats. All at a much better price than the place I’ve been using for years. The staff is very friendly. I went early so there was no wait. I definitely will return. The only downside is there is a single entrance iand they share the area with Jamba Juice, Chipolte, and a dry cleaners, so it can get busy.

I feel weird reviewing a gas station, but what I really like about this place is that they discount the price of gas per gallon if you opt to get a car wash. Not only is their car wash awesome, the cheapest (and only one you really need) version is $ 5. Your gas will discount I believe 20 cents per gallon so if you need a car wash, get it here!

This is a brand new great little gas station located within the lowes/​jersey mikes parking lot. Everything at this location is brand new and probably exceeds your expectations for a gas station… At night, this station is so well lit that it makes it seem like daytime. Probably the safest gas station around. Found it comical that there’s a dry cleaners attached to the food mart, go figure, lol.

Still good for $ 5 basic wash, but next to vacuums, they used to have high pressure hoses to blow out excess water when drying the car.
Those are gone now so I remove a star
Also don’t expect car wash to remove things like tree sap, etc.

This is the cheapest gas station in Carlsbad other than Costco Gas and AM/​PM. (Personally I don’t go to AM/​PM so yes this is the cheapest regular gas station in the area for me.) If you don’t have Costco membership or you are just sick of the ridiculously long lines, come here to pump some gas instead! They also give you a discount if you buy their car wash which starts from $ 5. I personally haven’t tried their car wash because there’s another one I regularly go to.
If you’re coming from the west, you either turn right at the light into the plaza before the Shell price billboard or you miss that turn and go in through a weird single lane entrance that bends to the right and back track to the gas station. It’s kind of an awkward entrance for a gas station, but you’ll manage to get there. Hey for cheaper gas, why not? Also make sure you watch traffic cos it’s usually packed.

Not only is this a new Shell — with newer gas pumps, is that they also offer free vacuuming! It’s always a good thing when you can fill your tank and drive a few feet down and touch up your carpets and seats! Only missing 1 star for their staff, they tend to lack on multitasking — sometimes ignoring customers :(
They have a car wash and service bay. Don’t really use either one of them but hey, now you know!
Other than that, it’s a cheaper Shell than others and new!

If you are on your lunch break and in a rush to get in and out because the outside of your car is filthy and you want to impress a girl… this might work.
We paid $ 8 for the wash that includes tire cleaning and a wax application. But It was a total waste of money because it;‘s very spotty. And there was soap residue along the inside edge of my doors. And this does not include the usual vacuuming and wipe down of the interior.
So it was my intention to get it rewashed by the professionals at a different place. (But unfortunately the SD firestorm hit, so we just didn’t get around to it) Won’t be going back unless I’m really really desperate.

Situated in the same parking lot as Chipotle this gas station can be hectic at times. When pulling in you need to be super cautious of cars leaving the gas station and chipotle. It is a small small parking area.
This location has vacuums for your car that are amazing. There is a car wash that wraps around the back. I had my car wash using the cheapest option available. My car came out pretty nice. Prices here are definitely cheaper than the shell by Bressi Ranch.
