The other reviews that stated PP does not follow up after the work is done is completely accurate. I also agree with the review that the relationship changed when we decided to go off contract for the concrete deck. Here is our very true and frustrating experience:
The pool was filled with water in January. After this we had to call and text multiple times to get help. As a brand new pool owner, I kept asking for help in learning our new system. The workers did not completely install all of the working parts for our so-​called self-​cleaning pool. They left the parts jumbled up in a box in the corner of the backyard, and the parts were subsequently rained on. And finally, in late March, we went to the pool store to buy the skimmer basket that should have been installed in January. We actually had to have multiple calls and texts on the issue of who was responsible for giving us this $ 15 basket. Finally, we said forget it and bought it ourselves.
We were told that our pool is chemical free. It’s not. Then we were told «just put a couple of chlorine tablets in the filter» when the test strips indicate. Uhh, okay. Turns out that our pH balance was off and we needed to add more than chlorine. These are simple things that we were eager to learn, but since the last check had been paid to PP, every subsequent action was like we were twisting people’s arms. This is unfortunate, and frustrating to say the least.
Between our pool rep, the contractor, and the pool service tech, no one actually knew how to effectively program our pumps, cleaners, and heaters. The contractor told me to read the manual – the manuals that workers had left out in the rain. The manual was not at all user friendly, I expressed this, and the contractor came out to punch around on the buttons himself to feel his way around the system. I could have done that. There’s no way that he read and understood the manual either. Otherwise, he would have known what he was doing. And by «manual» I mean three different booklets that you would expect with equipment – I even went on the website for the operating system, and it was just a sales website, no information about support.
All in all, we bought an expensive pool and no one could be bothered to promptly and professionally show us how to use it. Cancelled appointments and all phone calls and texts starting on our end does not count as service. Three months of waiting for help does not make us feel good about this company.
I didn’t even mention the rough concrete edges in the spa that have scraped us and catch on our swimsuits.

BEWARE… I got a quote from Nick at premier for doing my pool with Jacuzzi and firepit and it was the highest quote by far out of every pool company I contacted. I called back to get just a breakdown of the pricing on just doing the pool only and after several messages left with Nick and a receptionist gal, they refused to get back with me. After reading their negative Unilocal reviews, its easy to see why you shouldn’t use this company for building your dream pool. Follow thru and professionalism are piss poor! Lots of BETTER pool companies to choose from in North San Diego!

one word… b.e.w.a.r.e. aka prp aqatics. Do your homework! Aaron Temme is not the owner. This company (ies) is not recommended. Had to file complaint with contractors board and they were sited with unethical business practices.

I had my pool built about 18 months ago by Premier. The Pre-​Sales were top notch, and I am happy with the end result, for the most part. I was really turned off by how they handled the build once I decided to do the concrete off contract. Premier wanted to charge an absurd amount for grey concrete, which I had done (stamped and stained) for less. They then nickel and dimed the project to death, to the extent of not wanting to backfill ditches that were dug for the plumbing. All of that behind us, I am absolutely blown away at how terrible their post build support is. I have had multiple small issues (auto drain, salt cell, and now a plumbing issue), and it takes them weeks, even months to get out to repair anything. I get that people are busy, but weeks to months is absolutely unacceptable. There is no coordination to let you know when someone is coming, or to verify the work was completed. While the pool itself is nice, I would never recommend Premier to anyone I know. What sets a company apart from others is how you treat your customer after the bill is paid. In this sense, Premier fails miserably.

My wife and I did an extensive amount of research when we moved here to the San Elijo Hills area. We have had multiple pools in the previous homes we lived in back in the Sacramento Roseville area. Our last pool was built by Premier Pools so when we moved here I actually received 4 bids from four companies including Premier. I have too many reasons why we chose Premier to even start explaining them all. Just to mention a few– professionalism, Extreme consistency with returning calls if there was an issue, and the utmost attention to detail when it came to the different things that we wanted in our pool. Nick was our salesperson and he was assisted with the entire decision process along with Aaron the owner of this locations franchise. Nick was definitely one of the reasons we stayed with Premier again in our pool building process. He is undeniably one of the best if not the best professional pool personnel you could ask for. I would venture to say that of all the pool companies, even with higher ratings do not even come close in comparison to the attention to detail and the final product you get with Nick and Aaron at Premier pools. I am a professional myself in the finance industry and money is a huge decision when building a pool. The following statement I am making is pretty substantial. I stand behind my decision to go with Premier pools because you will not find a better price a better pool company or a better product even if you spend months researching the other companies. Do not waste your time. Premier will always be the best choice. Granted this has been a long review but to spend my time and give accolades where they are due is worth it when you receive a great product from a great company. Thank you very much Nick and Aaron for all your help. Our family loves you guys and I will always be grateful for the fun you’ve given our family with the new pool.

Why look anywhere else??? First words WOW! They were the 2^nd pool company I called & 4^th landscape design. I had given myself 6 month to interview & research but I am done. The owner Aaron is amazing. Arrived on time, confirmed before (former 3 were either late or I had to confirm with them). They covered every detail! The design & options were clearly detailed out. The show room was impressive. No hard sell at all– all the options are there to choose. This is how business is done!

We just finished our pool. We could not be happier. Brendon is wonderful to work with. We didn’t run in to any problems. If there ever was a problem, they stood behind it and took care of it. All of their team was wonderful to work with and the end result is beautiful!

After interviewing contractors for over 9 months I went with Aaron Tempe and Premier Pools and Spas. The design and craftsmanship was extrodinary and unique in proportion to my Laguna Beach home. It was built in 2013 and my family and I have had so much joy from it. The cost and timeliness of the construction was fair and timely. Less than 3 months to build. Aaron always responds to the least of my concerns and replaces lights when they go out. I also had calcium leak out on some of the tiles from my jacuzzi. The last 2 weeks he fixed it under warranty! Yes, two years later! If you want a great pool and someone who stands by their work give Aaron a call! He’s a good man!

Premier designed and installed a spool for me 1.5 years back. It is awesome and Aaron the owner worked with me through the process with great results.
More important is that their support since has been top notch. Any questions or issues are handled promptly and they always follow through.
There a five star service company!

Aaron the owner called to see how the pool was doing and if we had any issues. We have 2 and he told us that he would have someone out the next day (Saturday), but we are having guest over so he will have repairs done on the next business day on Monday and our other issue resolved on Tuesday. We are happy with our pool and how responsive Aaron is.

It took a week to even get a call back. Once the guy called back he wanted to cover all the details with me over the phone. Luckily I have already received a couple bids so I am becoming more familiar with the process and know that everything we talk about over the phone is stuff that needs to be discussed in person once looking at the property. Who do these guys think they are… The only pool builders in so cal haha. What a joke. It took less than five minutes for me to realize that they were not the company I want building my pool. People skills are everything, regardless if you can build and designs an amazing pool. Nobody wants to do business with a jack ass!

I tried to get a quote for a pool, they came out for the first appointment and kept canceling on me to go over design and quote. Finally said he would just email it to me, jake didn’t even do that! Didn’t have the common decency or courtesy to call and apologize. Never heard from him again. I was ready to build and and pay cash for a 100k pool and these guys lost my business for good.

One of the Manager/​Owners contacted me to apologize and see if there is anything that could be done. I appreciated the gesture

I just wanted to post a quick follow-​up on Premier’s great service! I’ve had a couple small issues arise recently and they have been more responsive than ever. They’ve sent help to the house almost immediately! Keep up the great work!
