By far the most fabulous men’s clothing store in Carlsbad. Awesome women’s clothing as well. Very upscale service, I just loved it.

Nice guy running this shop. He has been in the area since the 1950s and has some great anecdotes if you have the time. His merchandise caters to older folks, which explains so few reviews on Unilocal over the years. Still, if you need a gift for dad or grandpa, he carries a bunch of quality merchandise. I’m very pleased — got a Jerry Garcia tie and an excellent bath robe made by Majestic International. It’s a nice change from the trinkets, cheap t-shirts and beach towels that are sold in this shopping area. Give this store a look!

I love this shop. Yes, it’s touristy. Yes, it’s sorta pricey But they have some cute stuff. And yes, they have lots of stuff for the«older man.» Older woman too, beachy senior stuff. But they also have other stuff which is just ordinary stuff, like tshirts and sleeveless shirts. And gifts. And sunglasses. I found a great beachy shirt for my brother in law but it was too small for him so they had to order a size up, which they did gladly. I talked to the owner, Roy Martin, for a while, a real Carlsbadian, with lots of stories about the town. So don’t knock it until you try it. You might find something you like.

This is a terrible shop with the rudest owner you will ever encounter. The place is a mess. Shop anywhere but here!

Martin & Co. is a specialty shop that has been in the family for over 30 years. They cater to the older crowd such as your grandparents and feature very lovely casual attire. It’s a great place to go if you’re buying for your favorite senior. Run by Roy Martin and his daughter Suton Smith(what a great name she has), the two have a great time serving their customers. Since Suton does all the buying she does have a great section in the back for that hip grandma who likes to shine.

Personally, I would only shop here if I was buying a gift for father’s day, otherwise i would steer clear of this boutique shop. I’m not in the habit of buying pricey skipper-wear and Martin & Co sells clothes that any wanna-be sea-captain dad would wear. The shop sells women’s clothes too, they are all pretty geriatric, I saw a few pant suits in there that my mom shouldn’t wear for another twenty years. Plus, the store is expensive. The clothes are designed for Carlsbad’s affluent residents and I’m not one of them. So it looks my dad is getting the Deadwood season two DVD instead.
