Created by a student needing to improve her SAT scores, this is an unusual learning tool that makes tedious and challenging vocabulary fun and easy. History

Established in 2010.

Marie Bradvica, a junior in high school, could not find a vocabulary learning tool that provided both visual and auditory content suitable to retain word meanings. And existing vocabulary learning products do not offer a full menu of English content. On February 10, 2010, on the way home from a college visit in Boston, Marie asked her father in the airplane if she could develop her «picture words» as a commercial product. A business was born. Marie’s Words is a work of 550 words formatted on printed flash cards, and on applications for iPad, iPhone and Android mobile devices. Using visual language as a mnemonic for each word, Marie’s Words puts a «face» to each word’s name. Marie’s product is now available to be purchased on our website at www​.marieswords​.com. Marie B. is a graduate of Carlsbad High School in Carlsbad, CA. She is enrolled at Boston College for Fall 2011. Marie founded Marie’s Words, Inc., a vocabulary learning work of 550 words. Each word uses a colorful, illustration as a mnemonic tool, which helped her remember word meanings for her SAT tests. Marie believes that her «picture words» will help many others who want to learn, and retain, vocabulary.
