History

Established in 2012.

A member of the CA State Bar since 1998, Jerry gained experience in helding the elderly through family experiences and service as the CA Inspector General for Veterans Affairs. In that capacity, a primary focus of his duties was to keep the State Veterans Homes providing quality service to Veterans and ensuring they remained certified for Medicare, Medi-​Cal, and VA benefits.

Following graduation from West Point, Jerry served over 20 years in the Army, retiring in 1997. Following Law School at Pacific McGeorge, Jerry served as the Deputy Inspector General in Charge of the CA Prison System and then as the first statutory Inspector General for Veterans Affairs. Returning to the Pentagon after 9 – 11, he served as a Senior Executive, first as the Deputy Inspector General for Policy and Oversight for the Dept of Defense, then as Principal Deputy Asst Secretary of the Army for Installations, Energy, and Environment. Concurrently, he volunteered for 9 years as a Pro Bono attorney with Good Samaritan Advocates of Northern Virginia, where he served on the Board of Directors and assisted the needy at Saturday morning legal clinics. Moving to Carlsbad in 2012, he founded the San Diego Christian Legal Aid and continues to serve as the Board Chair and President, in addition to his primary duties as an Elder Law and Estate Planning Attorney.
