Amazing staff and the representative named Hannah was fantastic she had all the answers for all my questions I strongly recommend this shop for any active military or big Sports shooters have anything and everything you need from cleaning to maintenance even new parts for upgrades they are super helpful and intelligent people it is my go to gun shop for life as long as I am in California. They are also super friendly to new shooters and enthusiasts. Their deals are out of this world.

Thanks Sebastian, great process in getting me through the California mortgage paperwork of a pistol purchase. What I’m really thanking Gunther for is installing new sights on my new pistol;
1) while it was «jailed»
2) for no cost (especially since I did not buy them there).
Sights are spot on and a clean installation.

Me — Um yeh that’s not true. I can get them at turners, the guy turns beet red but whatever I had already moved on as he was trying to explain himself out of his lie.
Kimber 1911 used 999, I was looking at it the guy told me that is 1400.00 brand new, I said of that’s the case I’ll come by after work to purchase. They are everywhere for 1000, 1049 bucks… brand new.
Seems he preys on low info shoppers… beware.

Great store! My wife and I had a good time just hanging out with Gregg and Sebastian during our purchase. They do it right, made the process painless and to top it off they treat you like family. We highly recommend you give them a try next time you’re in the market, I know it won’t be our last visit. By the way, Sebastian does a pretty good Elvis impersonation. .. .

Gunther’s is a great mom and pop shop! All the staff are VERY knowledgeable and super nice! I bought my first firearms from this store and it was a wonderful experience. They were very patient and took their time to explain anything I had questions about. I will definitely, without hesitation go back!

These guys handled a private party transfer for me. Nothing in it for them, which is why I was surprised to be treated so well. The entire paperwork process took under 15 minutes (that’s a record).
I’m going to be making these guys my go-​to for future purchases for sure.

I stopped by Gunther Guns the other day since they had a particular firearm I had been searching for at other gun shops in the North County area. Sebastian was very helpful when I first called to enquire about the Sig 9 mm, so I decided to check them out. As soon as I walked in Lisa was there ready to help. We immediately got started on the paperwork and I was all set. She was very thorough in explaining the process and making sure I knew exactly when to pick up my new firearm since they are closed on Mondays. The only downside is the price was somewhat higher but at least they had it in stock as opposed to other shops saying for weeks that «it was coming in soon.» This is my first gun purchase and so far it has gone smooth thanks to Gunther Guns. I’ll update review once I receive it.

So I’m a first time gun owner and the person I found my guns form suggested this place to do the transfer paper work at. Went in and stood around for like 25 min while they only had 1 person working. Then some one else showed up and then all of a sudden there’s like 4 – 5 employs there to help people. After waiting now we have pick of the litter for who helps us. This person was very nice and helpful did a outstanding job. Gave me my paper work and told me to return NO rarely then 12−21−15 at 11:56am to pick up my new guns. Mind you I’m a very busy person. Running my own plumbing company I planned my Monday the 21^st cal lender around the pick up time and date. So after my few morning jobs on my way to my next job I stop on in to get my guns and guess what ??? There closed !!! What the fuck over !!! Tell someone to return when your closed is nothing but FUCKED UP!!! Now I won’t have time to get back here this week because it’s a busy Christmas week and all my other calls are in San Diego not fucken Carlsbad !!! Remember I planed my schedule out so I’d have time to by today the 21^st of December. Nothing but wasted time and lost $$$$$$ for me. Had Gunthers let me know «hay this is the earliest you can get you’re guns but we will be closed that day you will have to come on Tuesday or after » .
Guess what they didn’t!!!

Having been to many gun stores, I can say this is one of the best. Very friendly and helpful staff, good selection and great prices.
I will be returning for all future firearm purchases.

This is definitely not your typical gun shop where the employees aren’t friendly, won’t speak to you, don’t care if you give them your business or not. This is for sure a new aged gun shop that has a focus on customer service to the fullest.
The location may not be the typical for a gun shop seeing how it’s in an industrial area of all places Carlsbad. I can’t imagine what the owner had to go through to get this business in Carlsbad. Anyway the owner Gregg is so damn nice he may seem fake but he’s not. You could talk with him all day about guns and I love that about him.
When I went in there were several 1911’s but the prices were a little high. If you drive down to San Diego you’ll be wasting gas so you should just buy here at Gunther.

I have already mentioned the support I’ve had after the first purchase. We’ll Shane did it again for me. I enjoy the lacks environment but high end feel everyone there gives you. The «lack» is the easy to talk with staff with Shane be able to answer all my questions, keep in mind this was my second purchase ever! I wanted the Daniel Defense platform after talking with both Shane and Sebastian the American made and built under one roof too with the «tax evading decision makers» and can’t find «built in America» these days. I had two extremely clean AR’S from DD to pick from at Gunthers but I wanted a specific one… here comes the reason for the second post, which I have never done good or second chance bad still bad for my fellow yellpers. Shane searched and found my rifle and gave me an better price since I was back to back purchases too. Wait custom order hook up? Not normal these days again… The fact he found the gun, with stock on hand, and gave me a better price. Shane you started the collection and kept giving me high end service at a better price. A customer cannot ask for anymore with Gunther Carlsbad and the owners and staff with Shane and Sebastian being my two points of contact. O yea bought a safe and floor model discount again! They really want you to be safe and pay a fair price. I cannot thank them more with my two purchases! Don’t buy any where else if you our local. Cheers God Bless the «Free World».

Hands down the best gun shop in San Diego. Lisa and Gregg are amazing. Patient, informative and do not treat customers like most gun shops too, too busy to be bothered. The Gunther family and staff has treated me with great care, respect and that is why I am writing this. My purchases have all gone smoothly and always on time. They have a great selection of weapons or can find what you want at a great deal. Please don’t waste your time with any other shop! Go to Gunther!

Please support this family owned, independent business. Lisa, Gregg, Sebastian and staff are friendly knowledgeable and want to answer all your questions. Hidden in the business park across from Staples, they carry a wide range of self defense products, not just the standard guns and ammo. I recently purchased some pepper spray due to near-​stray dog attack in a local park. My wife and I feel much more prepared when running with my baby daughter and 25lb dog. They also have a wide selection of firearms and competitive prices. I encourage you to check them out!

As a woman who has been dragged to many gun stores by her husband, I actually enjoy coming here! The staff is very warming and personable when you walk in. They are very knowledgeable about their guns and aren’t pressuring you to buy, just letting you ask questkons while answering honestly. I like that, even though I’m just a little wife, I can still be apart of the conversation. I don’t feel overwhelmed or bored like I usually do. Half the time we end up striking up a fun fun conversation for a little that isn’t even gun related because they ask you polite questions about yourself. It makes them really seem interested.
My husband really likes it there too. They have a good selection of guns and he always enjoys himself.
The shop is very spacious and very clean, unlike any other gun store we have been to in the area.

Hard to believe there is a legitimate gun store in Carlsbad. This business is family owned and operated, and the customer service is top notch. I discovered this little gem almost by mistake, and boy am I glad that I did.
I have conducted business here multiple times and will continue to bring my business here, as well as tell everyone I know about them.
There is just something about local «Mom and Pop» businesses that make me extraordinarily proud to be an American, and Gregg and Lisa are just that: a local Carlsbad «Mom and pop.»
The prices are incredibly reasonable, the service is great, and the selection is better than most.
I wanted a hard to find ammo that they graciously custom ordered for me. They make the entire process from start to finish extremely easy, and the entire staff is friendly and make you feel right at home.
Sebastian has helped me numerous times and is incredibly insightful and always willing to share his opinion on «this versus that” — much appreciated!
I would really like to see the folks get the necessary permits for an indoor gun range. They definitely have my vote of support!

Once you walk into the store, you start to understand how different Gunther Guns is from other gun stores. A very organized and very «non-​tactical» store that has a good selection of new and sometimes old (consignment/​ppt) firearms. Having owned firearms for over 25 years and having a brother who worked at a gun store for years, I appreciate this place for a good balance of selection and pricing. The most notable part of working with these guys (Greg, Lisa, Sebastian and Shane) is that they are so easy going and friendly. The other part of Gunthers which is I appreciate is their low FFL fees if you transfer in a firearm from elsewhere like Gunbroker. They are currently trying to get a gun range built in the same location. Support them if you can as there are not a lot of good stores (and ranges) in this area. Do yourself a favor and drop in and check this place out.

Family owned and operated business. Customer service is great. I was looking for a specific pistol a year or two ago, and Gunther tried their best to find it to order for me (hard to do with the approved handgun list). They were not able to get it for me, but their attempt always stuck out in my mind.

I came in one day to kill some time and suppress my burning gun fever and I was very happy with my experience here.
It was a lady and a younger guy working there. Despite me coming in toward closing time, they were very patient, kind, and fun to talk with.
The prices there are good for California, however, I’m unquestionably spoiled by the selection and pricing of Arizona. If I do purchase a firearm of any kind in California, I will most likely come here!

Greg, the owner, is pretty funny so plan on some entertaining interaction. I really appreciate the way Greg worked with my wife. She wasn’t sure what to get so he took a lot of time to educate her. Lisa (Greg’s wife) & Sebastian are awesome as well.
This is the kind of business where after a couple of visits & maybe a purchase they know you by name and you begin to feel like a friend rather than just a customer. I surely don’t get that kind of treatment on the Internet with E-​Commerce purchases.

I can’t say enough about Gunther Guns. The reason I had them be my ffl for my first gun purchase was because of Unilocal.And all were true. Gregg is an amazingly kind man who took the time to talk with me about everything and anything. Sebastian and Lisa were amazing in getting my whole process done with my hsc and my ffl stuff.
