Carrillo Elementary School

Very disappointed about their new rules for safety! They should think for the better ideas for our kids safety instead of locked up the school and they treated to the parents like very bad even though they know that we are the real parents. (not the strangers) Which mean they did not use their ideas wisely! They are just act like ignorant! If the school’s principal really care about safety everyday, what about Fridays? Every body can go inside of the school so easy! What about the safety for the Fridays? I wish they can think more wiser and more better safety ideas for our kids instead of pick on the parents and treat the parents really rude sometime! They talked about kindness on every Friday’s flag salute but some people who work at school are not so kind at all (I didn’t mean to everybody who work at school). Some people! I will get by name next time. I like to being positive every day. I don’t want to write the bad review for other people but please, let me point the problem this time. We just want the better system for our kid’s school. And we are willing to support to our kid’s school as much as we can too. Cos we are the parents!!!

Carrillo is an AMAZING school. The teachers, staff, and families at the school are all so warm, there is truly a «family» feeling here, which is hard to find at many public schools. Both of my kids love school, and have loved all their teachers. Can’t say thank you enough to Carrillo for their love and support of our kids.

I love this school and my kids love it too. They have great teachers and lots of fun events and activities throughout the year like the Father-​Daughter dance and various field-​trips.
We have major problems with the parking, or lack thereof. And expanding the school to fit more students (and thus less parking) doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. But these are educators after all, so they must know something we parents don’t.

Our two girls love it here. The teachers genuinely care about their students. The running club is one of the most creative and well-​run program I have seen. In addition to receiving awards, my daughter runs through a hand-​painted, personalized banner each year as she completes her 200 + 300 mile runs for the year!
From a garden, excellent student library, fun family activities such as their Halloween night and Father daughter dance, this is a school that seems to really care about it’s students and their education. As a dad, they have welcomed me on campus and encouraged me to actively participate in my daughter’s learning. Both girls love the extra activities they are able to do at home on the computer.
Our daughters 2^nd grade teacher had her so excited the first month of school that she was begging me to find math pages for her to complete for extra school incentives (Any school that can have kids begging to do math is pretty amazing!).
Yes, parking is a hassle at times, and our family had a slight challenge getting our daughter into first grade after she completed Kindergarten at a private school. However, the school was willing to work with us, listened to our daughters needs, and she is now thriving in first grade. The parking challenges are a small price to pay for a school that genuinely cares about it’s students and gets the kids so excited about fitness and education. Bottom line is that this really is as good as it gets!
P. S. The flag salutes are pretty incredible too. Marines, Santa on a dune-​buggy, special presentations by all of the classes. There truly are a lot of creative and invested staff, volunteers, and PTO at this school!
