Whatever you do, don’t book at this hotel because you might not have a room!
We made a reservation for 2 nights and picked this property specifically because it was close to the beach. We prepaid through
. When we got there on Sunday night at the end of a long day, they told us they had a maintenance problem and HAD CANCELED OUR ROOMS! Nobody had tried to call me to let me know this, they just waited for us to show up. Then they informed us that they had transferred us to a different hotel and sister property. I asked if it was walking distance to the beach and they said no. So that whole part of our vacation which was the whole point of picking this hotel was ruined. I tried to speak to the managers but nobody was on site. They gave me a phone number and I called it but they didn’t call me back. Someone at
tried to speak with their billing department and apparently the phone just rang and rang and nobody picked it up. You can imagine what the service is like if you actually get to stay at the place!
Maybe worst of all: nobody at the hotel apologized, offered me the option of canceling my reservation and refunding it, or anything like that. They did not once say we’re sorry for the inconvenience. They just acted like it was totally normal to cancel our reservation without calling us and move us to a hotel that was nowhere near the beach. I think that says a lot about the type of place this is, and whether they really care about their guests or not. For these prices I think we deserve better.

Poor service. Don’t clean your room. Don’t answer phone. Not directly on beach as they say. No restaurant on premises. Would not stay here again.

I absolutely love this resort it’s beautiful and not only that but the way the guest are treated here with so much respect I absolutely can’t get enough of! It’s really pleasing entering the resort for a nice spa day and receive so many great positive attitudes to make my stay even that much more lovely! Thank you to the staff for such great service and accommodations!

You can beat the location. Great staff and amenities. It’s across the street from the beach.
However, the room configuration is awkward. The bedroom door and bathroom door in each others way. We ended up just going to the room through the bathroom. It’s also placed in front of the sand box. I don’t want to listen to kids. So, why would there be a studio in front of he kids area. Also, the tvs should be switched the one in the bed room is too big and the one in the living room is too small. There were ants in our room. The basketball court needs a back was behind the net so you don’t have to keep chasing the ball.
I love that there is an adult only pool. (please respect the rules, someone brought their kid in there, someone must of told them bc they weren’t there for long) I work in pediatrics and love it but this is my vacation, and I want to relax. The gym is great. Especially since it’s 25 hours. It’s a great location. The staff is so FRIENDLY.

Our family just returned from our trip to California! Nothing but good things to say about Carlsbad Seapointe Resort! Loved the suite. It had 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, and a nice living room with fireplace. All the areas felt very inviting and comfortable.
We didn’t have an ocean view but did have a great patio area with a view of the hot tub. Even though we didn’t have an ocean view we could definitely hear it and feel the breeze! We walked across the street many times to take it all in!
We also liked how accommodating they were for families! They had the hot tub on our side set to a lower temperature so my kids could be in it safely and we were close to the kids pool. I like that they have separate pools for kids and adults. I think it makes things relaxing for all!
Honestly will be staying here again!

Carlsbad Seapointe Resort is an excellent choice to stay with its ocean views and is so close to the beach you can hear the waves crashing on the sand. The rooms can be booked like hotel rooms or reserved with timeshare points if you are Grand Pacific Resorts and Hilton Grand Vacation Club members.
One Bedroom Villa can accommodate three to four people with a king or queen bed in the master bedroom and a queen sofa sleeper in the living room. Timeshares are a home away from home with kitchen, dining area, living room, and spacious bathroom. Kitchens come with full size refrigerator, oven and range, dishwasher, coffee maker, and are fully stocked with tableware, silverware, pots, pans, utensils, etc. for homemade meals and in-​room dining. Compared to other timeshares, the appliances need a little updating, but a villa with an ocean view from the private patio may help you overlook that. The living room has a gas fireplace for the cool evenings by the ocean. Nothing makes you feel more like you’re at a resort when you see the towel animals. A sea turtle towel animal was patiently waiting on the bed. The master bedroom is a little small. The door from the bathroom to the bedroom could not be opened all of the way due to the bed. Luckily, the bathroom had two doors so the hallway doorway became the only useful entrance.
The resort has a lot of activities for adults and kids if you just want to stay and play. One evening they had wine and cheese tastings in the reception area. Another night, they sold s’mores kits so you could make desserts in the fire pits. We went had too many activities booked that weekend to partake but next time I’ll make sure we have extra time to do them.

First thing walking in — the desk clerks were amazingly helpful. I know that’s their job but you can genuinely tell they care about you as soon as you walk in, I asked right away if they knew of anywhere that would be open to get a toothbrush (it was 1 am) and they were quick to tell me they had one available for me to use. Moving onwards to my room — which was much bigger than expected, with a huge jacuzzi bathtub.
Very happy to have stayed here. If for any reason you find yourself in this area looking for a place to stay — go for it.

This is a great place to stay if you are looking to unwind for 2 – 3 days… maybe a week. Be advised that most of the folks here have timeshare. This is NOT a (typical) hotel. This is a timeshare suite resort. It is important to know the difference.
The suites are lovely and the views are gorgeous. Many of the staff are college youth or recent graduates (at least this was the case when we stayed) and as such there is «young energy» in their service.
Again, being a resort suite timeshare there are not many restaurants or eating options in the area. However the resort has many deals with spots in the area (be advised you need a car or be prepared to walk) and you certainly want to have proper victuals and amenities for the night.
It might have just been the suite that I was staying in, room 109, however the lights, and television were «hit my head hazards» and I am not a tall guy.
Be advised.
Also…be advised that if you are not a member (timeshare holder) there may be an additional FOURTEEN (14) DOLLAR PER DAY activity fee charged to you; this covers parking and allows you to do the fun stuff that the property offers.
Overall, we had a very nice time here and would stay here again.

We had a wonderful 5 day/​4 night stay in a 2 bedroom suite. The service is crazy nice and attentive. Everyone has swallowed happy pills, and I really appreciate it. The general manager is a super nice gentleman. Sara (h) made our stay so lovely by hosting nightly social events.
Our 2 bedroom suite was spacious. It came with a full kitchen stocked will all a family needs to cook. The room was clean and inviting. The –1 star is because the beds and pillows in the non-​Master bedroom were TERRIBLE. Seapointe needs to invest in better mattresses and pillows. The Master bed was much better.
This is the first resort fee ($ 14/​day) that I actually felt offered me value. The first night, my family made SMORES! My son loved it, and so did the rest of us. Earlier in the evening we had ice cream floats. The next night they provided a social hour with wine, cheese, crudités, crackers, and lemonade. The next night we played souvenir bingo. I am very happy with my giant latte cup. The next day we had champagne and cookies. Each day they had fresh popped popcorn, coffee bar in the AM, and flavored waters the rest of the day. Parking was very easy.
Our room was in a primo location for our family. Outside of our balcony was the playground, putting course, splash pad and kids pool. My son had a blast! My hubby and I used the gym daily. It was an okay gym, nothing special, but nothing terrible either. The adult pool looked lovely with a fantastic ocean pool and one lap lane. We never used it. One of my favorite evenings is when we packed a picnic and ate while the sunset over the ocean at the picnic table across the street from the resort.
They have a small activity area for kids, and my son really liked building legos and drawing on the chalk board. They also provide pool noodles and beach toys. They don’t even make you sign these things out. They trust that you are not going to steal their toys. The resort provided us a stroller and dvds to watch in our room. I feel like we received great value at this resort.
I did find it a bit annoying that you have to call the front desk for every little thing. Still, I respect them going green.
Bottom Line: A wonderful stay!

Part of a Diamond Resort timeshare. Warning: You pay ahead of time and when you arrive. For what? Not much. The brochure pictures are misleading. The one overlooking the pool and ocean is only seen by one room. Most rooms are located near a playground, kid’s pool, tennis court or basketball court. And all rooms are next to commuter train tracks! Units are typical timeshare. Paper thin walls. Bedrooms are very small. Poor Internet connection. The HD TVs are nice, but they aren’t HD viewing. They are either digital or analog. What? Give me a break! In this day in age there’s no excuse for this poor technology.
Well, at least the staff is friendly.

Wow! Stayed this past weekend for my first time at Carlsbad Seapointe Resort. Impressed is an understatement! We had an incredible experience. The room was spacious, clean, and had everything you could possibly need. The two bedroom room is Perfect for a family of four. The master bedroom even had a jacuzzi tub! I am very picky about water pressure in the shower when I stay away from home. The showers here were wonderful. The resort has so many different activities and an activity center to provide everything you would need (tennis rackets, balls, boogie boards, mini golf supplies, etc.) The location is ideal. There is so much to do. Walk to the beach, enjoy the outlets, or check out downtown Carlsbad. This place is fabulous for a family or an adult get away. I found the adult pool very relaxing. The view of the ocean from the pool is a huge plus! As a guest, you are privileged with discounts at surrounding restaurants. The icing on the cake was the incredible service and HAPPY staff! This really makes all the difference. Everyone from management, the front desk, the activities staff, and housekeeping was friendly and genuinely happy to help. You can tell that they enjoy working for the resort and this has a very positive impact on the guests. I can’t wait to visit again with my whole family! Best place to stay in North County San Diego! Check them out!

What kind of resort charges $ 200 a night and then asl you to call the front desk every single time you need something? Light the grill call the front desk, light the firepit call the front desk… who babies their guest like that. Yeah no… never ever ever… again!

Part of the RCI timeshare. My mom has Hilton timeshare and was able to book here with it. Apparently there are 3 locations for Hilton timeshare holders in Carlsbad, 2 of them are above the outlets/​Legoland area.
Location: right across from the beach! Walking distance, a skip and a hop away.
The unit: seemed a little outdated compared with other timeshares I’ve stayed in. The AC didn’t seem like it was working properly either. It was humid inside the room. The rooms were spacious though!

There are a lot of good things and bad things about this place.
This is a time share place so most of the excellent reviews are by the owners. If you make a reservation during busy times, you will more likely to get a room with NO view because the time share owners would have picked all the good rooms several months a head.
Positives
1. staff are very friendly
2. They offer kids sand toys, wagon, towels, umbrellas, and chairs to take with you to the beach. The beach is five to ten minutes walk at the bottom of the hill.
3. The one bedroom has two tvs, sofa bed, one bathroom and small kitchen.
NEGATIVES
1. Too close to train tracks, too many trains passes by all day long and most of them honk their horn. Check it out on Google map
2. ANTS in the kitchen and bathroom. We called the front desk twice, they only sent an employee with a spray can.
3. Patio screen door is broken
4. You my see several cracked tiles inside the apartment

The resort would have gotten five stars except for these reasons: when you check in you are pressured to attend a sales pitch for a sister resort before they give you your welcome package. The salesman told us that it was only 60 minutes or less but it was 2 hours long. The resort got rid of the outside vendors who were available to their guests if they wished to view their products. I always looked forward to seeing Monique of Young Living Essential Oils and the Mary Kay lady. And since the resort became part of the Hilton resorts, the caliber of the guests has gone down. They are not owners and feel they don’t have to follow the rules. There is an adult pool and a kids pool, yet they bring their kids to the adult pool. That was the biggest selling point when we bought our week in 1998. Now for the positive side, the people actually working for the resort are wonderful, always friendly and positive attitude. The rooms are clean, well furnished and kept up to a new property.

I rarely, if ever, give a five star rating. LOVED this place as did all three of the generations that stayed here. Great service, lovely little perks (coffee in the lobby with good creamer), beach chairs and umbrellas, a bottle of wine to help us celebrate two special events and so much more. Great look, comfortable feel, good location.

I am an owner at Sea Pointe. I really love the staff and the resort.
I am writing this post as a warning. My sunglasses were stolen yesterday by the adult pool. Keep all your items safe and tucked away. The woman that took them intentionally walked over to my table and took them, while I was in the pool.

I love this resort and have stayed here several times. I’ve also been to Grand Pacific Palisades and Marbrisa many times and this place is much better than either of those. Great beach front location with all the beach items you will need. Excellent property manager and front desk manager. Full list of on site activities for the whole week. Third floor views are the best!

So upfront disclosure. I’ve never actually been a guest at this resort staying the night, but I have been to this resort maybe 20ish times for other reasons.
First of all, I think the location relative to the beach is probably the best part about this resort. You are right next to it, and it’s a nice, really beautiful beach. Sunsets are really beautiful here.
Do note, this is one of those buildings where the direction you face and what floor you’re on is a HUGE deal. If you’re facing the ocean, you’re looking at it (duh), if you’re on the other side of the building you’re (I believe) basically looking at a ditch with a railroad track going through it. They may have some trees blocking it, i’m not sure how it looks from various rooms and floors, the point is, there’s a big difference between the front and back units. Because of the beach view and the way there is a drop-​off at the beach/​cliffs. How high you are will change your view.
There are two pools, one of which seems nicer than the other. Neither seem super fancy or anything, but still nice. I don’t know what the cost it is to stay at this place so i’m not really sure how to contextualize how nice the pool areas should be.
There is a nice gym area, and the main lobby is nice. I have had to talk to the front desk ladies a couple times and they’ve always been super friendly
Good or Bad? You’re kind of in the middle of no where. You’re a sole commercial property surrounded by residential properties, so you can’t walk to any restaurants or anything commercial or of interest other than the beach.

Great location! The beach is super close and the resort is in a great area. The sunsets are beautiful! I really wanted to be over the moon about this place and read great reviews about the staff but I wasn’t impressed. We arrived early and were told our room wasn’t ready yet-​no worries, we were welcomed to wait in the lobby or explore the property. After 2 hours, we asked if our room was ready yet and it wasn’t. We went out for lunch and came back an hour later and our room still wasn’t ready. I believe check in is at 3pm and that’s what time they called us to tell us our room was ready. I just wish they would have told us that they don’t do early check in’s instead of stringing us along.
The most disappointing staff were the employees at the concierge desk. A few weeks before we visited the resort, I called and asked if they would recommend that I buy a Go San Diego card for some of the amusement parks in the area that we wanted to visit. I was told not to do that because the concierge would take care of us-​they offered discounts to many attractions and would be very helpful in setting up our plans. When we arrived I couldn’t wait to talk to the concierge desk! I asked what sort of discounts they offered. She told me their discounts weren’t very good. I said, any discount is better than nothing right?! She was not amused and said it’s only a couple dollars difference. There was a list of attractions and the discounts in a frame behind her but it was too small to read from behind the counter. I asked if I could see it. She again said there was only a couple dollar difference on all the attractions in the area so when we decide what we’d like to do, we can just purchase the tickets with any of the concierge employees. At this point your probably thinking that we just dealt with 1 bad apple but we experienced this attitude our entire week from all different employees at the concierge desk. We had tickets to the Price is Right in Hollywood and we were trying to plan out public transportation. We had asked about train schedules-​we were told we could look it up ourselves in the business center. We asked for directions-​again, look it up ourselves in the business center. Since we are completely unfamiliar with the California and the transportation system, it took us an entire day to figure all this out. We asked if there was a place for fresh seafood in the area-​we were told ‘I don’t know. I don’t like seafood.’
My last complaint was about the beds in the guest bedroom in our condo. The headboards were not attached to the bed-​they were resting against the wall-​it looked terrible and what felt terrible was the bedding on these beds! there was no sheet or blanket. You covered yourself at night with a scratchy, pilly bedspread. We called the front desk to ask if they had made a mistake and forgotten to make the bed completely. We were assured that this is how the guest room is supposed to be and if we were uncomfortable, they could send some extra blankets. The blankets they sent up were almost as scratchy as the bedspread. I expected better quality.
I absolutely love Carlsbad and my husband and I plan to return again next year but their staff stressed me out and put a damper on our vacation. I don’t think I will ever stay at the Seapointe Resort again.

I was disappointed in this hilton property to be honest. The staff were wonderful. Very nice and helpful. The location across from the ocean provides outstanding sunsets and they have wonderful activities. However for us, a party of 4 adults who have also stayed at Hilton mar brisa this was not on par sadly. First I didn’t see to many if any prior postings about the proximity of the hotel to the train tracks which is right behind the resort. This makes for a lot of noise from trains at all hours of the day and night. Not restful for sure. The other is the not being close waking distance to anything. One of our party had a nasty headache but the resort didn’t have any sort of small sundry type items and not being walking distance to anything required a late night trip to a store.
The room was upgraded but had some serious things that needed addressing such a the crawl space access door is falling from the roof in the bathroom. The screen door is off it’s hinges on the patio and patio feels as if it has dry rot under it when you walk on it
A nice place just not up to par with other hilton properties. We won’t be returning but that’s because mar brisa is also in Carlsbad and much nicer.

The room is nice and big. We are on the 3^rd floor of the hotel. The room has nice vaulted ceilings and the room feels big. We have a great ocean view with a patio.
One of the drawbacks was that this morning (Saturday) at about 7am the trash truck was SUPER LOUD and there, for a LONG TIME. What trash truck comes on a Saturday to a hotel and make all that noise? Apparently this place. Beware!
The cleanliness of the bed pillows and sheets were ok. We had to return some pillows as there was mystery hair and make up. Kind of gross. We are trusting the other sheets and pillows are clean.
Agree with the reviews about the train. There is a train that runs all night. It’s not as loud, but you can still hear.
We are here for another night so we shall see how this ends.

We, a family of three, stayed in a 1-​bedroom unit at Carlsbad Seapoint Resort the week of April 13^th 2014. Overall, the resort was great. Below are the details:
Good
* The unit was clean, spacious and had all of the necessities.
* Anything in the unit that was lacking (e.g. non-​stick pans, step stool) would be immediately delivered by calling the front desk.
* The resort staff (not counting the concierge — see «Bad») were friendly, attentive and took initiative to ensure our comfort and enjoyment of the resort.
* The resort grounds were very well kept, and enhanced our overall enjoyment of the resort.
* The «activities desk» has nearly anything you would want from a basketball to a DVD.
* The location of the resort is very easy access to I-​5.
Bad
* The concierge desk was absolutely worthless. I repeat W O R T H L E S S ! They are essentially a front for getting you to a timeshare sales presentation. Yes, they will offer you free tickets to LegoLand or a round of golf, but that comes with a PRICE. No thank you, you can keep your dang tickets and leave me the heck alone!
* The resort «blocks» cell phone signals, which I believe is their way of forcing you to pay $ 0.50 per call for using your in-​room phone.

The staff does an excellent job responding to concerns and questions. They make you feel like you are an owner and not an inconvenience.
This property is well maintained and has lots of amenities including secured parking, excellent pool, hot tub and gym. The room was well equipped and I especially liked the gas fireplace in December. A great place to vacation with good access to the beach across the street.

Loved this place, so much so we booked it again after being home 2 days LOL
the views are so awesome, the staff was great and no high pressure sale. And if you have ever stayed at a timeshare you know some places can be so bad about that, but not here. The rooms are beautiful and we had the sunset right from our balcony
We are coming back next September and I am already excited. Great Trip!

Good for kids, but just ok quality rooms.
Highlights:
— Activities for kids: cool water area with 4 sprayers like you see in some theme parks, mini golf, lego table, and a schedule of events like candy sushi making or smores
— Amenities for kids: you can borrow a red wagon, sand pail, and they provide swim diapers
— Huge jacuzzi: both in kid and adult areas
— Adult pool: open til midnight which I love and a beautiful view of the beach
— Location: across the street from the beach
Lowlights:
— Uncomfortable beds: both the mattress and scratchy sheets
Had a decent time but not sure I’d return as there are nicer places in the area for a getaway.
