Established in 2007.

After making pizzas around the United States I decided to start a pizza shop that had my favorite dishes. Mixing the best from Philly, N.J., NY and a little Cali flavor making what I think is the Best pie around.

I’ve been making pizzas for years, since in high school. I’ve worked at pizza chains, mom and pops. I am a picky eater, but I love to eat good food! So I decided to open my own pizza shop.

We just ate a delicious LARGE Calzone from this place… Chucked full of cheese, spicy sausage pepperoni and sauce. Crust was awesome and just the right amount of everything. If you are not sure about what to get here… get the CALZONE… good price too.

Booked this place for company party for 150pp based on Unilocal reviews and proximity to the office. Hoping that, since they are less than 5 min away, the pizza/​knots would be hot. Not. They send one poor delivery girl with 30 pizzas, 6 salads and expected my staff to help deliver when she got to parking lot. Also, the delivery was late – she had left 30 min before but called from parking lot and waited! Argh – very disappointed.

Pizza here is good for delivery. However, I have to knock a star off due to a slight bee problem they have by the soda fountain. It’s a daily problem — not just a one time deal. But, if you have no issues with bees, you are solid!

Not too many places like this in North County. Although the pie shop itself is small, The pizza they turned out is delizioso! The cheese and sauce proportion are phenomenal. The sausage into bitter or two sweet just right. The cheeses into thicker too thin just enough. And the crust is it to Joey or two crispy spot on. Get the pizza to go make sure it’s still hot when you get it home. From one real New York Italian… This place is good… Ciao

Not horrible… not great… definitely not somewhere I’d go again, or recommend.
I got the ricotta basil pizza, my bf got the sausage pizza. Mine was really blah, it had absolutely no flavor. The sausage pizza was good, but nothing special.
It bugged me that even though they’re a «by the slice» pizza place, they still use huge boxes. Incredibly wasteful and not practical.
Also super annoyed because we had a 20% off coupon, and we were told she could only give us 10% off because they were in the middle of a name change!!! Whhhhaaaaa?!? The extra .50 they wouldn’t give me doesn’t matter… it’s the principle. You’re willing to lose a potential future customer over 50 CENTS?!? Just plain silly.

Quite good NY-​style slice pizza. Many tasty looking choices; I opted for one cheese and one pepperoni/​sausage. Both had crispy, thin crusts and tangy tomato sauce. Well done! And the 2 slice plus a drink combo for $ 7 was a great value.

It was okay. 4 stars for having so much available & for good service. The slices have been sitting out for a while and they get warmed up in the oven after you pay. That process leaves them a bit worse for the wear, but still pretty good.

This was a surprise. I really liked my calzone. I asked for spinach to be added and it was fresh spinach which I love. The ricotta and mozzarella amount on it were perfect. I can savor it just thinking about it. It was creamy and delicious. I asked for the small one, and it was huge. I ate only half of it, only because I couldn’t eat anymore. My husband and the twins shared a large pizza, half cheese and half a bunch of ingredients my husband likes to put on pizza. He finished his pizza and then ate some of my calzone. The twins devoured their pizza also. This place was so convenient, my husband just walked to it and brought they food to our suite. Definitely a great find.

This is a very simple slice but I’m finding myself wanting to go back. There is something very yummy about their crust: it’s got a nice yeasty flavor and a great chew.
This is in a business area so it gets kind of busy during the week day but is quiet during the weekend.

Love it! I come here for lunch all the time! Quick and delicious.
I usually order two slices to go. The pizza is so good. Thin crust. Order the slices you want, they heat up for 1 minute or so and then your out!
The staff is also very friendly and quick.
My work has also ordered delivery before. Large pizzas, great for sharing.
I just love pizza, I have nothing but good things to say about this pizza shop!

I have had a great experience, and a so-​so experience here. First trip was great. Meatball pizza was delicious. My son had the pepperoni and couldn’t wipe the smile off his face. Good selection of pizza by the slice. Traditional as well as unique choices. Went the other day and the person serving was overwhelmed with customers. My slice (Hawaiian) was a bit burnt, but was still ok. Lots of toppings, which helped make up for it.
Probably should have 2 people at lunchtime serving. Still give it 4-​stars. Pretty sure if my slice wasn’t burned, it would have been a 4-​star slice.

I have ate here twice a day had the small canzone the food was good but there is alot of cheese so eating the whole will make your stomach hurt. The customer service is good the reason here getting 3 stars is because they are overly expensive for half of a canzone is $ 9.18 and a full one is $ 15 and the can is of soda is $ 1.50 won’t return because they are so expensive.

I am really shocked by some of the poor reviews as the owner and the staff really care, use quality ingredients and produce a delicious NYC style pie.
We have taken their pizzas to family and friend get togethers, office luncheons and their yumminess has always been well received. Each and every time we introduce somebody new to Lorenzo’s they gain a customer as people who enjoy thin crust are delighted.

FYI: The place is called «Lorenzo’s», but the sign at the restaurant says «Pizza by the Slice».

Was staying in the area and needed a quick dinner option, so based on Unilocal reviews and the fact it was still open, I decided to try Lorenzo’s. I’m so glad I did!
I went in about 5 minutes before closing (they close at 7pm on Friday) and they still had a good selection of pizza by the slice. Unfortunately they didn’t have any garlic bites that sounded so good.
I tried 3 slices:
— Artichoke, Gorgonzola, tomato (my favorite)
— Margarita (second favorite and yummy with lots of basil)
— Pesto (it was ok. didn’t have a lot of pesto on it)
The crust is delicious! Very crispy and full of flavor.
For 3 slices and a soda it was only $ 6.00! That can’t be beat! I’d definitely come back here again.
