Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce

If you are thinking of joining I would say save your money. Very poor customer service they don’t tend to care about patrons
I went to the Carlsbad Street fair which is put on by them a booth called Pretty Fancy person had 3 tops three of them that were marked $ 38 all of them are the exactly the same I went to pay for one and when I went to pay for it she said oh that’s mismarked it should be $ 44 I said well since you marked it for$ 38 you need to honor at least this one and change the prices of the other one and she did not.
Very poor business person by the end of the day as they were closing up I saw three tops were still there. On another street they were selling the exact same tops the guy at the other booths tell me they’re all made in China they all come from the same place I told him the story and he knew who the woman was he even said that she tells people that she makes them she doesn’t make them, She takes off the label and puts her own label on it he said and he’s right it was exactly the same and his price was $ 40.
I spoke to Brian who’s in charge of this event and told him that you have a booth that’s very unscrupulous they switch and bate the price I guess they thought you would fall in love with the item so much you can buy it at any cost even the wrong cost and all he said is they been selling for 20 years and he can’t tell them how to mark their product I feel that he should tell them to go in merchandise their product somewhere else and let somebody who is reputable I have that space instead especially if there’s a waiting list that is no way to do business

I joined the Chamber late in 2011 but didn’t become active until 2012. I’d say that was a big error but I believe that things happen for a reason and it just wasn’t the right time for me until this year. Wow, already having jumped in to participate in the Business Committee, Technology Committee, First Friday Breakfast, Table for 8’s and been throught the round table facilitator training with Don Sando I have met some of the most amazing business people. Paula Anderson reached out to me from the beginning and made me feel extra special and has already referred business my way. Others, like Chuck Currey have been busy thinking of ways to send me business since our Table for 8 introduction. I am so impressed. Beverly and the staff have been especially patient with me as I learned the ropes and always welcome me and my questoins with a big smile. I am so impressed that they remember me.
At the recent sundowner I met Bridget Ayers and several other terrific professionals. They have all been gracious and more than willing to share.
This is truly a magnificent group of individuals who believe in giving as a product of gaining. I am a very proud member of this organization and if I could give it more stars it would be 10+.

I have been a member of the Carlsbad Chamber, with one business or another, for 10 years now. I have steadily built my business and my clientele with the help of the Chamber. They have well attended events, committees, networking groups, and educational workshops.
The Chamber staff are wonderful to work with. They are helpful, knowledgeable, and always upbeat. I look forward to interacting with them.
Sometimes I am really active, and unfortunately sometimes I am not, if you want to get the most out of a Chamber of Commerce you need to be active. Go to the events and get to know people.
