Love this place. I won’t get waxed anywhere else. The service is friendly, the shop is clean and the estheticians are highly professional. Cara is such a doll! She’s so friendly and knows what she’s doing. Definitely recommend getting waxed by Cara.

They sell products and bikinis as well as lingerie and accessories.
Great for Brazilians. Liked the service and the privacy afforded in the rooms.
Waxer was very professional and salon was very clean.
Price was a little high, but you get what you pay for!

I was very impressed from the moment I walked in. Great service all around — 100% satisfied. I will definitely be coming back! Cara was super sweet and attentive. Not to mention my waxing was done in lightening speed which is also very important. Ive already booked my next apt. This place is great!

I have been going to this waxing salon since 2007 before the big renovation and as a long time customer of course I have had some cancellations over the years. After making an appointment one day the owner, Genie, was so mean about booking my appointment because of my history of cancellations. I ended up going to my appointment because I love Cara and she is amazing at waxing me. When I was checking out I got an awkward vibe from the owner again and she wasn’t really appreciative of my business. So after 8 years of being a loyal customer, I will no longer be going here anymore. I don’t believe she deserves my business after treating me that way. It’s all about customer service for me.

I was looking for a new place to get my eyebrows waxed and I found it! I just walked in and the lady in the front was very nice and told me they would try their best to get me seen right away. I sat for no more than 5 minutes and Sabrina helped me. She was more than kind and made me feel very comfortable, so much that it barley hurt because we were talking so much! Thanks again Sabrina!

My wife started going here shortly after they opened, she recruited me over a few years ago. After all of her compliments and praising I had to try.
This is no doubt the BEST salon we have ever been too. Even though it is decorated to comfort our wifes’ and shop till there hearts content, it is very comforting to know that they take just as good care of us men. I love how they decorated for every season and always gave birthday rewards.
Since we have moved to Hawaii we have not been able to find anything that even compares to the quality of care and satisfaction that they offer.
We have had so many wonderful ladies over the years and we miss them all very much and hope they are there when we return to California, Thank you all!
I wish the owner would please consider a second franchise near Honolulu/​Waikiki area.

I prefer Sweet Cheeks Beauty Bar in Carlsbad for waxing! I feel like they’re more welcoming and friendly.
The big draw for Beehive is that you get a gift of panties of your choice. I got a cute ruffly pink thong after my wax. Plus, I got a free calendar, free hot pink pen and free exfoliating glove. So Beehive makes sure you go home with goodies!

Very cute and tucked away, but good parking. Great vibe, smells nice, clean and the staff us incredibly friendly. Cara was my esthetician and I had such a great experience. There was little to no pain and she made good conversation with me (which also helped distract me from it all.) I will be back! Also the free panty with waxing over $ 30 is amazing!

I had to go in for an emergency, and luckily, I was able to get a same day appointment. I asked for Marie, whom I always request because she is really, really good. And I was able to get the appointment with her, I thought. Upon arriving, Cara was waiting for me instead. I don’t know if there was a appointment mixed up, but no big deal. It was a first time getting wax done by Cara, but she made sure it was comfortable as possible. She was really nice, professional, quick, and my Brazilian wax came out really nice! :)

Great attentive service, chic décor, very clean and a fair price. The waxing experience isn’t very fun at all but they make you as comfortable as possible.
They send appointment reminders and confirmations via text and make it really easy to reschedule if needed. They have complimentary refreshments, ib profen and candies a plenty. They also have some cute sun dresses!
If you get a Brazilian they give you a free pair of undoes as well. They have all styles and sizes. Best waxing experience I’ve ever had!

I’m so upset right now that I don’t even know what to do with myself, and floored that a place I used to regard so highly has such poor customer service now (in other words, this is an emotionally charged review. just a heads up).
I used to come here a few years ago when I was in college, and loved it. In fact, after moving back to Carlsbad from LA, I was raving about Beehive to a close friend, and told her that this is where she should come to get her first bikini wax. I was pretty excited to get back to what I considered one of my favorite salons.
We requested appointments five days in advance (more than twice the timeframe they ask). I called the day prior to ask a question about my particular appointment. Come to find, no one had booked our appointments at all … and they were supposed to be tomorrow! How did no one bother to check our request in the past 5 days? I asked about this process and said «was I supposed to call? did I misunderstand?» and received a completely condescending and degrading attitude from whoever answered the phone. Something to the tune of, «Well you haven’t been here in 3 years, and now you’re telling me you might not be ready, what do you expect.» So since I haven’t been to this salon in a while, I don’t deserve good customer service? I no longer matter? I moved! … And I came back! Clearly I’m a returning customer. Hard to explain the tone of voice, but it was honestly so rude and I have never been this upset after a phone call.
I have worked in customer service and public relations since I was a teenager, and there is absolutely no excuse to treat people this way, nor to talk down to a paying customer. Condescension will get you nowhere. there are plenty of other places who value their customers, and I plan on giving them my business (read: Sweet Cheeks Salon). Such a shame, as I mentioned, because I truly did love this place a few short years ago.
One star for my fond memories, one additional star because if you’re someone they consider important, I’m sure the service is still nice.

Hi! This comment is in response to one below by Latese. I wish you could leave comments on reviews! Anyways. I couldn’t not say something. I’m the girl that gave you my earlier appointment. While I understand your frustration you are only telling part of the story. I saw the whole thing go down. Regardless of whether or not you confirmed your appointment (which in person you said you never received a confirmation email but in this review you said you did. Funny how that changed. Anyways). I was already waiting for my 9:30 appointment. We parked at the same exact time and you walked in ahead of me by maybe a minute. Let’s say I got there at 9:15. Regardless of the miscommunication– if your appointment was at 8:55 arriving at 9:15 is not acceptable and they worked hard to make sure you would be able to get your wax today. And your attitude didn’t help! They were patient and kind even though you went on and on. I just wanted to make clear that there are two sides to every story and while miscommunications are annoying (I understand) being late and rude are just as bad. Have a good day!
My review: I’m new to the Carlsbad area and finding a new wax place is always challenging /​scary. I was impressed with how they handled a difficult situation with patience and most importantly I got a great wax!!! Definitely will recommend and be back!

Marie is amazing. While bikini waxing is not the most pleasant experience she makes what would be awkward comfortable. She does an excellent job and is genuinely kind in how she treats you.
The front desk staff is amazing and so accommodating. Not too mention the place itself is so inviting.
Do not go anywhere else. This is THE place!

I’ve been going to The Beehive since they first opened (maybe ten years ago?) and shared a space with a manicurist. A few years ago, they remodeled and expanded, and now have a spacious, lovely place.
I’ve been to several of the waxers over the years, but have gone to the owner Genie the last few years. Everyone is amazing and professional, and they never make you feel awkward.
The salon itself is darling, and is decorated in a pink, white, and black Shabby Chic look. You can buy cute bath items and lingerie here, and if you get a bikini wax of any kind, they give you a free panty and a goody bag with hydrocortisone cream, etc.
If you’re nervous about waxing, give the Beehive a try!

I decided to come to Beehive Waxing Salon for my first Brazilian Wax, and I had an appointment today with Lauren at 10:30AM. The place itself is very cute; however I had no time to look around to check the whole place out because I had to leave early.
Anyway, LAUREN IS AMAZING! She made me feel really comfortable! She is so friendly, informative, and professional. I felt a little awkward and scared at first, but I don’t think it was THAT bad, especially for my first time! So thank you Lauren!
Yes, the reviews are true. No double-​dipping, very clean, and sterile! OH, and you get a goodie — bag after + free underwear! Cute selection too! Loved it!

This is a very professional waxing salon. They are all about waxing here at the Beehive.
I saw Lauren for cleanup in the Land Downunder. She is extremely friendly, polite, discreet, professional, and works fast and efficiently with the different waxes used on a lady’s sensitive areas. I like her personality and her professionalism, so I will most definitely be seeing her again.
The salon has receptionists that manage the front shop. They are very professional in getting clients educated about the waxing process, scheduling, billing, etc. It’s a very professional outfit.
They sold me a numbing spray called Bnumbed. It’s about $ 30 plus tax. It’s a little pricey for a small bottle, but when you think about it — spread out over at least 10 waxes — it’s only just a few bucks per waxing session to help making the waxing experience on one’s private areas more comfortable. It actually helped a lot on my sensitive areas and I recommend buying it if you are new to waxing or just simply sensitive.
Beehive offers drinks, pain relieving medication, mints and other goodies to help make the experience before, during, and after as enjoyable as possible. Yes, they offer a free pair of panties with certain waxing services. I don’t see why some other reviewers complained that they were cheap; I mean, come on… they’re a fun goody — not Princesse Tam Tam or La Perla! Be graceful in accepting a fun parting favor to show off your «new look»!
I rated the Beehive a four because I am not used to paying $ 55+ tip (20%) for a waxing and other services are quite high. I come from Europe where it’s 26 euros total for the same quality service in a spa, but that’s just me and does not reflect on the Beehive. *However*, for the value and quality (no ripped skin and ingrowns so far), I accept the price with grace and will return again.
