Specialties

Cut the chemicals, not the portions! We specialize in homemade soups made from scratch by the owner himself. All of our sandwich meats are smoked and carved in-​house which means no processed lunch meats (no nitrates or MSG). Our salads are made to order and we have several vegan and gluten free options available. All of our sodas are craft sodas made with pure cane sugar — no high fructose corn syrup and we brew our tea fresh daily. For the lighter appetites, we also offer soup/​salad and soup/​sandwich combos. Fresh baked desserts too! Come ‘Spoon’ with us today!

Read the reviews on Unilocal and this is a gem! I had the soup and sandwich combo which was excellent! The soups are all homemade and you can sample them before you commit to order. Very hard choice since they are so good. Staff was very helpful in my selection. Atmosphere was very comfortable with a gas fireplace which added to the great experience. Can’t wait to go back!

Excellent little deli type café that uses only the best ingredients. No chemicals or processed lunch meats. The sandwiches are delicious and so are the salads. The sliced chicken is DELICIOUS! I had it on a salad and on rye (the rye bread is so fresh and good– get it toasted!) The café also offers homemade soups, desserts, and sides, as well as fountain craft soda from Appalachian Brewing Company. The atmosphere is very relaxing as well and it is ideal for small groups. The ordering area can get a little congested but don’t let that scare you away. This is a great little place.

one of my favorite restaurants in downtown carlisle for a quick and easy lunch. they always have 4 – 5 homemade soups. great selection of build your own sandwiches and salads, and a dessert of the day. the lunch meats are great — like other reviewer noted, hand smoked just outside the kitchen.
owner is very friendly and accommodating for gluten free requests. usually at least one of the soups is GF and there is also gf bread available for any of the sandwiches. the other day they even had gf peanut butter/​oatmeal chocolate bars that were really really good!
i also love their iced tea. not sure why it is so hard to find good, real-​brewed ice tea around here, but finally found it at spoons!

Great café! My friend tried this place out and then told me that I had to try it. I’m glad I did!
Staff was really friendly and knowledgeable about their food. The owner smokes his own meats. Everything is homemade and preservative free! The portions are quite large. I liked the atmosphere of the café too… very unique. They had so many choices of homemade soups that it was hard to pick just one! My husband and I will definitely be coming back!
