John is a practicing professional art conservator with over 30 years experience. He is the President of Hartmann Fine Art Conservation Services, Inc. He received his Master of Arts Degree in Art Conservation from the State University of New Yorks Cooperstown Program in 1982. He is a Fellow member of the American Institute for Conservation of Artistic and Historic Works. He previously worked as a paintings conservator at the Indianapolis Museum of Art and the Detroit Institute of Arts. He held the position of Chief of Conservation for the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commissions Commonwealth Conservation Center for 20 years managing a staff of conservators who provided conservation for 60 historic sites and museums, and the state archives.
