Super 8 Motel

Stayed here Friday night (May 15^th) with my wife and 3 kids. Young gal that checked us in Friday night was very friendly. Wish I would have caught her name, but she was very helpful. I like this hotel because it is not right next to the interstate. I found this location to be very quiet and it was close to a lot of shopping and restaurants (within 5 miles). John Deere World Headquarters is very close by. Although this location is not on the interstate, it doesn’t take very long to get to the interstate. Overnight desk person was very friendly as was the General Manager. Had a nice chat with both of them in the morning as I ate my breakfast. Felt like I was staying with friends. I would definitely stay here again. The only reason I didn’t give this the full «excellent» review was due to the fact that the property is showing some age. It has been mentioned in earlier comments that the hotel will be undergoing renovations soon. However, despite this, the property was very clean! There is a nice family restaurant located right next door as well. Thank you Jolan for the wonderful chat and such a pleasant stay at your hotel. It was a great pleasure!

Rude staff, run down rooms. I have never felt so unwelcomed in a hotel before. We work over the road for a living and our vehicle broke down in east Moline, during the golf tournament. The place we took our truck said it would be a few days until they could fix it and since it was quitting time they picked our motel. On the third day they had to move us to a smoking room because that was the only one not reserved for the night. We got into our room and called for extra pillows and the lady at the front desk said we destroyed the other room. When we asked her what was destroyed she said that a washcloth was stained and there was dog hair everywhere. We wiped butter out of our hot plate with the wash cloth so maybe it was stained but bleach would have fixed it. As for the dog hair, we paid 2 pet deposits per night (one for each dog) so for three nights we paid $ 90. We can’t help that our Bassett hound and yellow lab shed when they are nervous. When we were in the second room the air conditioner was not blowing cold. Not wanting to be accused of breaking it, I took the filter out and cleaned it. It was disgusting. It then blew so cold that was had to turn it off at night. If I had the option I would have rather slept on a park bench rather than stay at this place again!
