I had a wonderful experience at Swan & Co. My daughter and I had our hair cut by Teri. We both have naturally curly hair which means it’s next to impossible to find a stylist who can cut this kind of hair. Teri did the most fantastic job! She really understands naturally curly hair since she has curly hair herself. My daughter and I were very happy with our haircuts. Teri is The Curl Queen!

I’ve been going to Swan & Co for a few years now and absolutely love the services. Sammy is by far the best! I always walk out of there with renewed hair, and feeling great. She is very professional and she knows hair. A few times I walked in not knowing exactly what I wanted, and Sammy did a great job of recommending something and talking me through it, and in the end giving me an amazing cut and color. She also did a great job satisfying my desire for ombré, which i hear is not easy. She is very personable and one of the sweetest people I know… I will never go anywhere else. Swan & Co is Highly recommended, especially Sammy!

I’ve been going to Swan & Co. for the last 12 years. The services that I’ve received have always been professional & consistent. The salon is clean, friendly & I really like the owner who’s extremely knowledgable about current products & services. It’s been exciting to see the renovations happening right now as I think it will add to the overall comfort & appeal of this already cozy place. I highly recommend it to all my friends. I’ve been going there for 12 years! That’s the highest referral & compliment I can give!

I went with a Groupon and got a Groupon service… I really don’t like when businesses do this… you’re supposed to receive a discounted REGULAR service and instead just get the «Groupon service.» Anyone know what I mean? The pedicure was clip, file and polish… that was it! It was a Groupon polish application, not the as described, paid for and issued pedicure. The salon was not awesome and was under construction at the time. The 2 stars are for the nail tech… she was nice and talkative and pleasant.

Oh Swan and Co… I REALLY wanted to like you. I really did, and I tried. But I had an experience that just cannot be ignored.
I want to start by making it clear than I had no issues with my technician for the most part, and nothing was outright BAD, except maybe the final result. But I’m getting ahead of myself. (This is going to be a long one, folks)
I purchased a groupon to Swan and Co a few months ago on a whim for a shellac manicure. I LOVE shellac and figured sometime before it expired I would want to use it. It just so happened that I had a semi-​formal event to go to this weekend, so I had the perfect excuse to schedule an appointment for the past week. I called around 4:30 on a Wednesday and they were able to work with my schedule and get me in on Saturday morning 10 AM. One thing that I found to just be a little odd is that I never received a courtesy reminder call for the appointment, which obviously is just that — a courtesy — but I’ve never experienced that before. When I arrived, I was greeted by my technician and we started the appointment after a quick form right on schedule.
Here’s where it got. uncomfortable. I came in with standard polish on, and my technician had to go a get the ONLY bottle of acetone (in a color processing bottle) to remove it, then return it to the owner for her clients. Huh, well, okay. As a place with two manicure stations I would think you’d want one for each station… The technician then shaped my nails and took off some length with the SMALLEST nail file I’ve ever seen. My heart went out to her, she did a GREAT job but geeze the nail file was like 2 inches long. On top of this, there wasn’t a tool at the station to clean under my nails so the technician used a dull pair of tweezers. My cuticles were oiled and then pushed back but not clipped. Then my nails were buffed… and then we went straight into the shellac. I felt like I should’ve washed my hands, and the way shellac works is you need to have a really good seal with the nail for it to be effective. Because of the oil used on my cuticles that wasn’t washed off prior to the polish, my shellac has already begun to lift at the cuticle.
Almost all of this I account purely to the technician not being supplied the proper tools to complete the appointment to the best caliber. And that’s not necessarily her fault. The rest I really account to training on shellac, because she did allude to me that she was something of a fill in manicurist. Shellac is about precision; a flawless application gives you the longest, nicest finish. The primer coat and my color choice coats were put on somewhat sloppy, getting underneath my nail. When this happens, the shellac under the nail doesn’t set right, which messes up the finish on the end of the nail, which in turn messes up the seal on the nail. And since there was nothing that could really be used to clean out underneath my nail… it remained. The top coat for shellac is also VERY thick, and when it gets under the UV lamp it can heat up and settle a bit toward the sides of your nails, becoming thicker in those spots. My finished product had top coat on the outside of my nails for 4 fingers as well as two fingers that just looked misshapen because the application was WAY too thick. I went home and cleaned out under my nails with my own tool that I have for that purpose and gently filed the worst spots down to keep them from snagging my clothes or hair. Ultimately, my shellac mani that I can usually get 3 weeks out of is going to get taken off this week because it’s not applied properly.
Outside of my unfortunate service, I found this to be more of a casual salon/​spa than high end. The general work space is rather small, with 3 hair stations and 1 permanent nail station. The owner has a second workspace that is equivalent (from what I could tell) to about 2/​3rds of the main space, closed off by doors and feels a little unwelcoming. The main space FEELS a little unclean, although I didn’t find anything that was dirty, so maybe it just felt cluttered? In addition, I heard SO MANY personal stories from staff being shared between one another while I was within earshot… which just makes me uncomfortable. I don’t need to know what’s going on in your personal life, I want to feel pampered. It also didn’t help that my technician was instructed 3 times halfway through my service that she had someone scheduled directly after me. I’m not sure if she felt rushed, but I sure did.
i was really excited to try a new place and hopefully have somewhere to go for shellac regularly but I really don’t think I can go back. It wasn’t really a welcoming environment and it wasn’t more than a mediocre service. Sorry, Swan and Co.

I live less than two miles away and always drive by this adorable salon to and from work. I’ve been planning to come here for oh — don’t know, maybe 3 years. Groupon finally helped fulfill my plan and rewarded me with a great experience.
Leah was cute, personable and knows hair. She performed the Groupon purchased restructuring treatment to revitalize my split end plagued top layer. And even though I didn’t book it, she squeezed in an additional conditioning treatment, cut and style. Of course I had to pay for these services, but that was anticipated. Upon leaving, I was rewarded with shiny, bouncy hair and a bag full of a new hair treatment regimen promising to maintain the newfound health of my shiny locks.
I plan on returning to have Leah do this treatment every 4 – 6 months, plus I’d like to make her my new nail girl since they offer the CND gel nails I love so much. I also will get my brows waxed here and may start regular facials. I anticipate spending lots of my hard earned cash here. It’s not the cheapest place on earth, but the atmosphere, staff’s ability, and additional treatments & products warrant the cost in my book. So glad I finally made the time investment.

I have to add to my already shining review of Sammy that she recently got me out of another conundrum with my hair (this time not self inflicted) and she continues to be in very high standing with me. She talked me through exactly what I wanted, we conceptualized together and I walked out of there feeling great, knowing I got my money’s worth in a beautiful and healthy new style. She’s the best. Jereen, the owner is also a sweetheart. She has always been very helpful and generous. I love this little salon and recommend it to all of my friends.

I had a different experience then everyone else on here apparantly. I came in and asked sammy to cut my hair, not style it, just cut it. it took her and hour and a half and i came out looking like david bowie circa 1980’s with a labyrinth mullet??? and then she didnt even cut my bangs (which i kept quiet about after the hack job.) My basic advice is that if you come here dont go to Sammy. sorry, if it were possible i would give zero stars
