I recently sold a house in Soquel and the buyer’s agent is an agent working under David Lyng’s umbrella. I am a firm believer that one’s company’s BRAND is only as good as the lowest common denominator — and i have to say that David Lyng’s BRAND, their standing in the Real Estate Community and their Trust Factor went down as many notches as one can slide. The buyer’s agent — (initials are S.O.) — was nothing short of horrendous to deal with. There was hardly a day that went by that my agent and I weren’t thrown curve balls — MANY OF WHICH were in my mind HIGHLY UNETHICAL (how ethical is is to have one’s HUSBAND — an UNLICENSED CONTRACTOR) give an OUTRAGEOUS bid on a foundation repair? (i had two other LICENSED contractors look at that same foundation and one even came back asking if that bid came with a jar of vaseline…- that’s how bad it was) — By the time the house closed I truly felt as if i was being released from an extremely abusive relationship. There was ABSOLUTELY NO REASON it had to take that turn. This agent at David Lyng is to be avoided at ANY COST my friends. Matter of fact — i would avoid using David Lyng period. This isnt the «old good ol boys» days any longer — one doesn’t have to throw everything at the seller but the kitchen sink to get their client a decent deal. She cemented my firm belief that a good percentage of realtors are simply out to get a buck and not to find HOMES for their clients.

This review is specifically about Tammi Blake, (although she was working at another agency last year when I bought my home). She’s an amazing asset for David Lyng Real Estate.
Tammi was incredibly kind and helpful in a search that ranged between Santa Cruz and Monterey. She was unfailingly professional, caring, patient, and generous in time and spirit. She always returned call and emails promptly. She’s extremely knowledgeable about all the local areas, has cordial relationships with many other agents, and can refer excellent vendors as well. Tammi will help you find the house of your dreams, and sustain you though the search!

I cannot say enough good things about Patty Kindig– one of the best Realtors in the area as far as my husband and I are concerned. She truly knows her stuff and was not only helpful in negotiating with the Listing Agent/​Sellers to get us the home of our dreams but also has been a tremendous help in hooking us up with locals for movers, contractors/​laborers, restaurants… you name it. She knows this area like the back of her hand!
We were working with another Realtor and never got the sense they were on OUR side. Patty however, is always responsive, honest, professional and ALWAYS has your back!

There are many realtors in Santa Cruz County but Deborah Powers is a great one. If you are looking for someone who will listen to your needs and work to meet those needs, Deborah is the realtor for you. She works hard, is very experienced AND she returns phone calls! I have recommended her to several of my friends and they are as enthusiastic as I am. Do yourself a favor and get a great realtor!

This review is specifically for Ted Mendoza, one of the realtors at David Lyng. My wife and I had the misfortune of having to work with him as he was the listing agent for a home we were interested in. He was literally impossible to get a hold of throughout the entire process of making an offer. He never picked up any of our phone calls, never returned any of those calls, and rarely responded to emails. The few emails he did send were short, vague responses that were not helpful at all. He really didn’t seem like he wanted us to make an offer at all. In the end we still made a great offer on the house, but he apparently convinced the seller that our offer was too risky even though it clearly wasn’t. My guess is that he convinced the seller to pick the offer that benefited himself the most. I wouldn’t be surprised if this guy has been reported to the Department of Real Estate for unethical behavior multiple times already. My recommendation is to stay away from this guy. Don’t give him a chance to screw anyone else.

This man is rude, loud and disrespectful. I would recommend taking your business elsewhere to someone who will appreciate and respect you.
