The Custom District is an industrial design and fabrication studio specializing in high-end one-off furniture pieces, architectural and garden rails, gates, and details, custom motorcycles, and making useful objects beautiful, whether modern pet furniture, or electric guitar effects pedal boards. We work in fine woods and metals of all types. If you have an idea, we can articulate it and make it material.
History
Established in 2005.
The Custom District began in 2005 designing and creating furniture pieces for several restaurants and residential clients in the Washington DC area. Relocated to Capitol Heights just South of FedEx field in 2010, The Custom District has vastly increased its capabilities. Commissioned to build pieces for clients as far away as Seattle and Denver, The Custom District continues to advance design and artisanal craftsmanship.

Son of a sculptor and architect, Elon has been in various forms of professional art, design and fabrication for two decades. Elon brings a unique integration of fine design, engineering, mechanical and architectural, and wood and metal working skills to The Custom District studio, fulfilling a life-long vision of a central place in which concepts can be made material.
