Riverstone Cycles provides quality road bikes to the travelling cyclist by delivery only. Don’t deal with the risk, hassle and cost of travelling by air with a bicycle. Let me provide a clean, modern road bike to you upon your arrival in Dana Point, San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano or other South Orange County, California location.

1 Day, $ 50.00

2 – 5 Days, $ 40.00 per day

1 Week, $ 200.00

Longer terms are available, please call for a quote.

Delivery and pick up in Dana Point, San Juan and San Clemente is free. Delivery to other parts of South Orange County are available for a fee, please call for rates.

History

Established in 2012.

I started this business after renting a bike while on vacation. The service was poor, and the bike was not well maintained. Inspired by this experience, I want to prevent the same thing from happening to other cyclists. I know you want to ride while travelling for business or pleasure. A brand new fleet of Cannondale CAAD10 3 and Diamondback Podium 4 Ultegra bikes is waiting.

I have been a cyclist since 1985. That was the year I bought a Vitus 979 with a full Super Record Group. I have not stopped riding since, although some years not as much.

Bikes have come and gone, races won and lost, and unique cycling experiences such as L’Eroica and have all been a part of the last 27 years.

The past few years I have been racing the Masters circuit in Southern California, maintaining fitness as much as family and work allow.

Took a guided ride with Mark, it was a great ride. The Cannondale 54 he brought along for me to ride was in great shape. Being a guy from Dallas and not used to hills, Mark designed a route that was challenging for me, but not too hard to be unenjoyable. Made a breakfast stop at Cook’s Corner, which was much needed to refuel and get my legs back after the 2nd climb. Hopefully my wife will allow me to make this an annual ride. I may bring some friends next time to share the experience.

We rented two Diamondback road bikes for four days over a holiday weekend at the last minute. Mark was helpful in setting us up with the gear, including saddle bags, floor pump, and extra tubes. He offered suggestions on routes. He delivered the bikes to our hotel and picked them up. He was very professional.

Mark at Riverstone is the man you want to call when visiting Southern Orange County without your usual rig.
I was pleasantly surprised not only to find Mark’s presence on Unilocal,but also his kind, helpful, and thoroughly professional self at my parent’s doorstep only a few hours after I spoke with him on the phone — a cycling angel, descended to help bring me hours of riding pleasure in a new and beautiful place.
Mark is prepared to cater to all levels of expertise and preparedness. I neglected to bring my cleats and helmet with me over the holidays, thinking it would be difficult to arrange for the kind of long ride I was interested in. Mark was able to switch out my ride’s clipless pedals for some flats with toe clips, grabbed an extra helmet from his arsenal, and I was good to go. When I got a flat on my way home — no problem — I just changed out the tube with the kit Mark supplied, pumped up with the frame-​mounted pump, and kept rolling.
I rode a Diamondback Podium 3 with full 105s along a ~40 mile route Mark recommended (Trabuco Canyon Loop, +1) and couldn’t have been happier.

I had the pleasure of renting from and riding with Mark while visiting San Clemente for a wedding over the 4th of July. I’m a fairly experienced rider (~4K miles so far this year) and had asked Mark for a tour with some hills (I’m currently in TX, so it’s been 4K FLAT miles!). Mark’s a great riding partner and his route put a smile on my face. The two came together on the last hill when my TX-​trained legs gave out… I swallowed my pride, hugged his wheel, and pretended not to notice that he’d slowed down considerably to pace me up! I had the bike through the weekend, and Mark gave me some great recommendations to fill out my week. I managed to squeeze in ~120 miles between wedding festivities and really came to appreciate how well Mark keeps his bikes maintained. All-​in-​all, my CAAD10 made for a perfect riding vacation. (The wedding was great too)

Mark exceeded expectations on all fronts: Easy reservations, proactive explanations, reliable delivery, excellent Cannondales, and he stayed in touch with us daily to recommend and comment on our routes. I was in town for a couple of weeks and desperate to find a bike to train on — I have a 150 mile ride coming up in a few weeks and couldn’t just skip riding for 2 weeks. Mark has like new Ultegra Cannondales. He came out and made sure the bike was set up correctly — and included some old style look pedals (I had matching cleats on my bike shoes). I had odd arrival and departure times, but he was willing to drop off and pick up the bike at times that were convenient for me. He also extended the rental over the phone no problem when I decided to stay an extra day. Highly recommended! I only wish I’d not been working every day so I could have gotten some longer more interesting rides in!

I am very new at cycling. I basically only know how to get on the bike and ride it. I have gone to Mark (owner) and asked him about cycling numerous of times. He has put in his time to educate me as much as I could learn. You can tell that he has the passion for the sport and wants to share it with his customers. This is not the typical bike rental place. You will get a personable service and he has a great selection of high end bikes at a very reasonable rate. Highly recommended.

I rented a Cannondale road bike from Riverstone Cycles during a recent trip to Orange County. The owner, a down-​to-​earth competitive cyclist, combines his passion for cycling with his knowledge of the area to provide exceptional service that goes well beyond a simple bike rental. He delivered the bike based on my specs and with my preferred pedals so that it fit me perfectly. The bike was brand new, fully equipped and rode like a dream.
