D & H Machine, (formerly L M & P Auto Parts) offers complete car and truck repair. From oil changes to complete rebuilds. We are also a machine shop that still does engine rebuilds, machines heads, manifolds, flywheels, rotors, drums and more. We love to help you out with prototypes, projects or whatever.

History

Established in 1957.

John Van Balen opened L M & P auto parts in February of 1957. He purchased D & H Machine in 1992 and merged the two. Bryan Thompson (formerly with Old Town Garage) trained with John for a year than purchased D & H Machine in March of 2014. Bryan brought former co-​workers Jim and Charley on board in 2014. John still works here and is a mentor to us all.

Bryan attended Saddleback College automotive mechanics training. He spent 4 years as the mechanical inspector for Capistano Unified School District buses. Bryan also worked with Bob at Old Town Garage in Capistrano Beach.
