Stopped by and the clerk was showing a stainless steel 410 gauge shotgun single shot. I asked him if it also fired 41 mags and he looked at me like I was stupid. I explained that this was a common feature of 410s and he said he had never heard of it. Not a sporting goods store

Very good local sporting good store. They did a nice job with the store remodel about a year ago. The prices on gear are generally low. Prices on team licensed gear are high but that is probably a result of high license fees. $ 25 – 30 for a basic kids Angel’s or Rams t-shirt, really? They do not carry much of the higher end sporting/lifestyle apparel that you can find at Dicks(and sports authority & sports chalet… at least until they close their stores down as recently announced).

This place is dangerous. I can’t walk in here without spending money. They’ve given the place a face lift. And it is looking good. Nice to have a local sporting good store.

This place has the worst customer service. We asked for help with purchasing the last umbrella(which was the display) the worker said for us to find someone else to help us because he had to go to lunch. We then asked a girl for help and she said she had to ask if we could purchase the display, 10 minutes later said we could purchase the item but she was going to send someone else to help us. After waiting for about 20 minutes we decided to cut the display down ourselves and when we went to the register to purchase the item, the same girl was standing there doing nothing.

I have to say I was so upset with the lack of help from the employees that I walked out without getting what I needed. Two male employees with idle time had no interest in helping me with what i was looking for. I needed shoes for my kids for their sports and they two men didn’t want to look in the back for the shoes in their sizes. Instead they just pointed me to the baseball area when I was there for football! Will never shop here again. Worst customer service I have received in a very long time!

We spent about 15 minutes in the store not one employee said anything to us offered to help or to even acknowledge us being here. That to me is pathetic i used to work in this store back in 2006 and we always had to take care of customers especially by the shoes department back then this store was run by a bunch of teenagers and even then they were more helpful than the people here today. One thing i did think was cool is that they’ve renovated the store put new floors in moved the gun dept. to the front of the store and just cleaned it up a bit. Fun fact about the store and im sure its still here is that in their back room they had this huge cage above the rows of shoes that was pretty much a huge lock box of random lost shoes sooo many in fact that you could spend days in there looking for the other half of your missing shoe! Overall Big 5 will always be «The Thrift Store Of Sporting Goods» As this is what we used to call it when i was here.

HORRIBLE and I mean HORRIBLE customer service! I call and ask if they carry a specific item and the girl said, «Yes we have that.» I leave work, drive down there and guess what??? They DON’T! When I confront the girl, Mariana, whom I spoke with on the phone, she replies, «Oh. I thought we carried those.» Really? Get your facts straight before you give out information! Then she asked the manager, some overweight guy who was too busy putting sale prices on tackle boxes to look at me, and he said, «Oh…yeah I don’t know who would carry them.» Really genius? Because your staff thinks YOUDO. I told him I left work and drove down there because his staff«claimed» they had them. He didn’t apologize or even look at me and let me just walk out the door. Did I mention it was the day before Thanksgiving and driving anywhere is a nightmare? Anyway, if you’re looking for something at this location, I suggest calling and having them grab the item and describe it over the phone or you’ll waste your time like I did.

Basically the best place anywhere to get fun toys. I’ve bought a crossbow, Mossberg 12 ga shotgun, GSG .22 cal rifle, sleeping bags, knives, and about a million other things there over the last year i definitely don’t need but think are cool. prices are always good or as good as Amazon or ebay! Best part is that the employees and managers have A LOT of knowledge about the products they sell, and sometimes have steered me towards a cheaper product because it may suit my needs better, I’d recommend this Big 5 to anyone!!! Very happy repeat customer.

Went there today, the selection is terrible, friendly staff but not very knowledgeable. I wasn’t looking or asking hard ?‘s, just wanted a bacci(sp) ball set and baseball display case. The biggest problem is disorganization. Have some respect for your store and clean it up. Arrange items on the shelf so that at least you can see them, especially for customers. Very disappointing.

Ive been inspiring friends to run after haveing only really gotten started on that path about 5 years ago, As a result, Ive lost a ton of weight and got a better life. the first thinh=g i tell my inquiring frends who want to know how to get started with running is to go to Big 5 and get good shoes at half the cost. the battle begins with tying those shoe laces.

Okay, Okay… so the selection kinda blows, that part is true. Marisa also has it right with the employees. After forgetting the top of our tent and tent stakes and having to make 2 different trips back to this place for those items, I thought I’d get laughed at. Nope! They didn’t even seem to notice it was my second time in ten minutes to buy something. Nice! But, they had what I needed and that’s what counts!

I grew up going to Big 5 for my sporting good needs. I thought I’d check this one out, the closest one to us. I was definitely not impressed. Their women’s sportswear section is nonexistent; what was there was sub-par. At least the workers there were friendly…
