Somewhere in Time Antiques

I am super excited and honored to be the first to do a review of this fantastic establishment. Paula Haas is the most amazing, warm, friendly, fabulous woman that side of the Mississippi and I consider myself lucky and blessed that I have gotten to know her.
I used to live in Murphysboro, IL which is about an 45 minute drive to Cape and it was my favorite place to go, and became a special «staycation» getaway for my husband and I. We stumbled in to her shop one cold day in February almost immediately after she had set out on her own to open her own store. I was in a very bad place, being a So. Ill transplant the move had been hard and I was feeling pretty sad and lonely. I am wholeheartedly convinced that meeting Paula was Gods way of telling me it was going to be okay. She was literally like my fairy Godmother on the pretty side of the river.
From a young age I have been obsessed with costume jewelry and used to raid my grandmothers jewelry box for anything sparkly, going to Somewhere in Time is like that on a way larger scale. Paula has tons of the most gorgeous, sparkly jewelry and pieces that you have ever seen and at completely fair and generous prices. My husband knew when we went in we would be there for at least a few hours and I made a point to take my closest girlfriends to visit her as well so they could enjoy the fabulousness that is Paula and her shop.
Over the years I have bought loads of gorgeous pieces from her, she even helped my husband surprise me with literally the most perfect Christmas present of all time, so she doubles as a personal shopper as well. I have to say though that my most treasured piece from her is my engagement and wedding ring set a vintage set that is gorgeous and perfect for me beyond my wildest imagination. It was the first ring I ever tried on and we bought it that day on the spot. You can read more about the ring itself on my blog but it is fantastic .(

This wonderful woman, and all of her treasures and her super positive attitude and view on everything came into my life at the perfect time. Her husband is wonderful and they always treated us like family with hugs and love and so much warmth.
