Holiday Inn Express & Suites Cape Girardeau I-55

Cape Girardeau is a small, sleepy town in MO that offers no thrills (other than my sweet extended family whom I love to visit). So, I was shocked at the quality of this hotel. By that, I mean it is NICE. I’ve stayed in other places in this town where the carpet was crunchy beneath my toes and the water pressure barely registered — so having a very clean, aesthetically pleasing place to rest your head is a treat! Speaking of resting your head, the beds are super comfy with lots of pillows (none of that one-​only-​prison-​cell-​pillow business here!)
To note:
— Service is TOP NOTCH — the hotel receptionists were just lovely; one gal even loaned my mother her personal umbrella since it was raining out.
— The lobby and dining room are very nice and the hotel is located behind an Olive Garden, so you could just walk over to have a drink & dinner there if you don’t feel like driving.
— The complimentary breakfast is delicious. The biscuits and gravy were particularly yummy in my sister’s and my opinion! They also offer fruit, yogurt and cereal for those of you wanting healthier options (which I should have chosen, but I only fly home once a year!)
— The 4^th Floor suites are the priciest (although, I didn’t have to pay, because my two sweet aunts covered the costs), but they are NICE… AND you get the added security of the elevator only going up to the 4^th Floor when you have a «swipe» key card. I don’t know that you’d have any issues with crime in the area this hotel is located, but it’s still something to know.
I will definitely stay here again on future visits.

I would definitely come back here again. The service was very good from the front desk, and the breakfast was decent compared to your average complimentary hot hotel breakfast. Rooms were comfortable… the beds were very soft. And I loved using the hot tub. The location of this hotel is very conveniently located to the highway, restaurants, and main streets into town. High recommendation.
