History
Established in 1922.
First public library building partially funded by Carnegie money. Second building opened in 1980 at 711 North Clark. New destination library opened its doors in 2009 at same site.
Meet the Manager
Betty M.
Manager
Masters of Library Science degree from Southern Ct. State University. First 15 years of career served as Children’s Librarian for the Wallingford Public Library. Served 2 years as a Regional Youth Services librarian for the St. Louis Public Library, then 3 years as Adult Services Librarin for the Cape Girardeau Public Library. Promoted to Library Director in 1997.
