History

Established in 2012.

Tadpole apparel and gifts was started in 2012 when co founders Todd and Donna Johnson decided to open a retail shop for Artisan Bread Company in Cape Coral. Donna had long been making kids clothing and selling it on the internet, this gave her the opportunity to establish an actual store and allow shoppers to see her fabulous work up close. We have added crafts from friends, relatives, customers to our offerings over the years and now can claim a truly unique store.

Donna began sewing as a relatively young child, taking after her mother who was a very skilled seamstress. In 2002 she began «Seahorse Fashions» an internet based seller of her handmade kids clothing. Business was growing through 2005 and she had customers all over the country when she decided to close it and devote her time to helping her husband start his bakery «Artisan Bread Company»

When the time came for the bakery to expand it’s retail presence into Cape Coral the opportunity to begin creating clothes again was something she couldn’t pass up. Finding a space to house both the retail bakery and a fashion boutique for kids (and dogs!) Tadpole Apparel was born
