Farm Fresh To You Sacramento Area

I signed up at the CA State Fair. I got a few boxes and by September there was nothing in the boxes I really wanted. I ended up donating a few to Sacramento Food Bank (like that option) and cancelling several. I then cancelled entirely, and moved from the apartment where I set up the service. I got an email from the apartment manager after I had moved out saying a Farm Fresh box was left at my door. I checked my account and yep, they had delivered a box with no notice and I was billed for produce I will not use. I emailed and was told «Sorry about your experience, please call us.» I hate this because if I wanted to call I would call, I work and don’t have time during business hours to take care of this stuff. But in good faith I called to discuss this and basically the lady over the phone argued with me for 20 minutes. She claimed I set up a vacation hold. Why I would have done this I have no idea since I didn’t like the service. I finally said «You know, this is not helping me at all and I hope you have a nice day.» and hung up on her mid-​sentence. And yep, I am paying good money for a small amount of produce which I will end up composting, because if you don’t customize your order they send you all the stuff nobody wants.

My family and I have never received a «bad bunch» box and just love how it has my girls eating enjoying a healthy lifestyle. Cooking in the kitchen has never been more fun! I have yet to customize my box cause each delivery is different and we love to be surprised to see what we get to plan meals. For $ 33 it’s worth it! One can’t put a price on being healthy for your kids anyways.

Was actually looking up Sprouts and FFTY came up. I tried them about a year ago and I was all around happy with their service and items. I can see where people complain about them being old, but it’s probably people who are inexperienced with fresh organic.
Anyways the reason why I’m giving them 3 stars is when I signed up; I was unsure which items I wanted and also wanted to price everything out, since I lived alone I wasn’t sure this was the best option for me. So the cute young girl who came to my door said ok let me take all your CC information and when you decide all you’ll have to do is pick your items and you’re done. I was ok with that. About a week later I received a delivery, at first I thought it was a sample until I checked my bank account. Didn’t see this issue in the other few reviews I read so maybe it was an honest mistake, but it was concerning.

I feel like I was fired as a customer by the driver. I signed up about five weeks ago. First two weeks were fine; nice produce. Well, the next delivery day, I opened my door and no box. I left for work a couple of hours later and there it is, down at the street sitting on my mailbox. We have a long driveway and you cannot see the mailbox from the front porch. I later found out that the week before, my daughter got scared when she saw a man running from our doorstep (she obviously forgot about the produce man) and let our dog out. My dog probably chased him off the property. I don’t blame the driver for being scared. I emailed and apologized, explained the situation, and let them know the dog would never be out again. I heard nothing and the next week it was out at my mailbox again. I called and explained the situation and the customer service rep said my email had not gotten into my file for the driver to see. I asked him to let the driver know my dog would be safely inside the house. Well, today it was pouring rain and my box was sitting on the ground next to the mailbox. Do you know what happens to cardboard when it sits in the rain? It was a mess. I called and the customer service rep told me the driver refuses to bring the box to my porch. So the only way I can remain a customer is to have a soggy box of wet produce. No thank you.

This company has some of the best produce in the WORLD! It’s crazy to see any bad reviews. Any problem I had with the produce or when I got the wrong item they had no hesitation to take that off my charge for that week, which I have only had a couple of problems over a year. In my mind this is a great service with fantastic service! They also promote the donate a box program to help give quality food to hungry people. Food has never tasted so good since I started getting this local organic produce. I guess if you want perfect uniform tasteless fruits and veggies go to a big supermarket chain that gets there produce from across the country where they pick it weeks before its ready then ripen it with gases. There is no cost to big when it comes to individual health and environmental impacts!

These horror stories are regrettably examples of a good company being poorly represented by bad (Former) employees. These guys are bringing a wonderful service to our front door. The food is always of the highest quality and the few times that I had issues, the customer service department actually really made me feel that small town charm and took care of me. I’ve never been more pleased by something that I bought at my door. Top shelf. Great people too. Best deal out there by far I’ve looked. Been a member for over 2 years even before you could customize.

I wrote a negative comment about FFTY a year ago based on what others wrote (I was notified today that the comment has since been removed). I have no problems with this removal and actually, i’m quite glad they did.
The reason? I decided to give FFTY a try (urged on by my co-​worker). I absolutely LOVE my produce box! I get one box every two weeks (the plan i chose). The produce is amazing. I used up every single item making… Thai butternut squash soup to… roasted red onions with sweet potatoes, homemade juiced apples and kale… the list goes on and on. I’m happy knowing that my produce is organic, fresh and tasty! This week I received my second box and was equally pleased!
I’m able to preview what FFTY will send me and change or keep what i receive. I prefer to always keep what i receive in order to sample items i otherwise would never try. I use pinterest to prepare my recipes in advance and i haven’t been disappointed! This week i made pickled red beet eggs… Wow! Ciliantro and Bok Choy went into my chicken and long rice stir fry… i can hardly wait to use my sweet pie pumpkin in a custard!
I pay $ 33 every two weeks and it is comforting knowing that I now don’t have to feel guilty about not going to the Saturday markets… because MY market is delivered to ME! yay!
I’m glad I gave you folks a try! SOOoooo excited for the next box!

I love the Idea. I was very excited to have them send me fresh produce every other week.
I was even excited to go online and pick what I wanted.
The price was a little high but worth it if I did not have to go out to get it.
What I got was a box of bruised up, torn apart produce. Out of all of the veggies I received a butternut squash and 2 pears for $ 26 everything else was destroyed or so old and dried up it was not usable.
I called Farm Fresh to you and asked them to call me about canceling my service. They did not bother to even call they just canceled through email.
I do not believe I am being to picky I loved the idea of service and hoped they would call and tell me it was a one time incident.

I have loved this place for a long time, and just got our first box. I KNOW the quality of what I’ve gotten in the passed, but the 5 star was from then, not now.
I tried to skin, whatever u do to carrots, and there wasn’t enough carrot, so half just broke off. I’m trying to figure out what I’m doing wrong,?when ordering out box. There’s three of us, and our box had one orange, 5 carrots, 3 apples, etc.
My love for this business far out weighs my issues, so.,
If anyone could message me, and let me know what size box to order, so there’s not just one… I’d appreciate it.
One last thing.
Anyone with little kids, who severe pickiness due to …, I blame it on the autism…, have any interesting recipes or ideas for radishes? I LOVE their recipes, but I if I suggested anything, it would be for recipes for picky eaters to be in their flyer.
Or, I need to just drive to sac on a wkend where youngest is with his dad, and have my oldest pick out 3 – 4 new items to bring home. I personally LOVE their recipes, but my kids? Ugh !!!

The fruits and vegetables were very nice. It was always seasonal produce and they put a nice newsletter in, usually with easy recipes for any new produce. It also encouraged us to try new things.
I called about a week before my delivery date to cancel. Well within the time frame. Then I got a delivery. So I called and the guy I talked to was a complete ass and a bully. 1^st he said I never called to cancel. Then I found the exact date and time on my phone and he told me my story didn’t add up. Excuse me? Is this a produce service or the freaking FBI? It eventually was straightened out, but wow. Too much hassle and rudeness for my dollar.

Some of the poor reviews here are honestly ridiculous. If you are so picky about your produce, stop being lazy and go to an actual store where you can pick out every apple, tomato, etc. It’s nature — not an assembly line. Yeesh.
Anyway, FFTY has been great to me. They’ve always gotten back to me quickly when there was a problem (which has been rare), and their customer service is excellent. I work in the field of customer service, as a manager, and give them the highest praise.
Also, the produce I’ve received has always been top quality and super tasty. But then again, I don’t freak out if there’s a tiny brown spot on my lemon.
Looking forward to coming up for a tour in October if we can make it! Oh, and I would definitely recommend trying them out if you’re looking to expand your food horizons. They are the reason I discovered chard. So good!

From cca 2012 until about a month ago I was a happy, prepaying customer. Then they started to forget items from deliveries and customer support was dismal (I specifically said, contact me back by email NOT phone as I cannot talk on the phone from my workplace. But no, it had to be by phone after a few days and a string of emails from me).
Then they delivered moldy corn with the tops cut off. This was not an accident or oversight, this was pure F.U. to customers paying for «fresh» produce. I asked to close my account; prepaying meant I had credit left. The account is closed but the money is not refunded.
I guess they have so many customers they can afford to alienate/​swindle some.

I got my 1^st box today and am excited to use everything in it!!!
Everything is organic!
They deliver by 8am so it stays fresh. You can go online and say what you don’t like before they even create the boxes or you can wait for their email and customize your box.
They usually deliver every 2 weeks but you can change that too — I do once every 4 weeks…
There are also different size boxes you can get.
I also saw you can add things like honey or eggs — very cool!

I have been subscribed to Farm Fresh To You for about 2 months now and I LOVE IT!
Like another Unilocaler said, I was concerned about the time of delivery and possibly missing it if it came anytime after 7:00am, but it has consistently come in the middle of the night and I am always so happy to open my door and find gorgeous veggies and fruits!
The produce is always delivered in a closed container that I believe must be delivered in a freezer van or truck because my produce is always chilled which is awesome.
i have received a number of different produce from purple and green grapes, BEAUTIFUL romaine lettuce, DELICIOUS carrots, white peaches, apricots, heirloom tomatoes, celery, cantaloupe and more recently gypsy peppers, pluots, grapefruit, cucumbers, and valencia oranges.
You can also customize your box however you’d like! My boyfriend and I aren’t fond of mushrooms nor onions so… you just go on the website and click won’t you don’t want in your box and they replace it with something else! Easy!
You can also add extra items that you just pay a little extra for. You can get eggs, olive oil, honey, or pick from other produce that is in season! I personally LOVE getting fresh cut flowers with my box!!!
The produce always comes fresh. Sometimes I have had to wait a day to eat my peach so it could ripen up, though. However, the last box I received, the peaches went bad REALLY fast. That has been the only bad thing for me…
you can also go on their website and request a hold if you are say, going on vacation. I did this just last month and it worked out great, I just entered in the dates I would be out of town and when I wanted to receive a box again.
I live in an apartment building and it has worked out great every time. I feel bad for the company getting these bad reviews. Then again, I feel bad for the people receiving bad experiences. Maybe I am just lucky?
Anyway, I PERSONALLY highly recommend Farm Fresh To you! :)

2−½ stars, really, but that wasn’t a choice. The concept is great, but there is definitely some room for improvement.
I just received my first box on my porch on Friday morning, some time between 5:30 and 6:00 am. When they told me it could arrive as late as 8:00 am, I was a bit concerned. I was crossing my fingers that I would get it before I had to leave for work, because otherwise I would have had a box of ruined produce waiting for me at the end of the day. So getting it that early was a big plus, but I would have felt better about it if I could have specified the latest arrival time that would be acceptable rather than leaving it to chance.
We were told this would be two weeks worth of fruits and veggies for two people. Maybe that would be closer to the truth for those who are not vegan — but when at least 80% of what you’re eating is fresh fruits and veggies — well, not so much. Here it is Monday morning, and we’ve finished off everything except for half the green beans and the Romaine lettuce (which by Saturday evening was already too wilted to use, anyway — except for the innermost leaves). Even if you’re not vegan, you can hardly expect fresh produce to stay fresh for two weeks — that’s completely unrealistic, so they really shouldn’t make such claims.
The quality of the produce was pretty good for the most part — some of it, e.g., the beans, corn and avocado, was even great. The peaches, nectarine and oranges were a bit on the small side, but otherwise okay. We’ll probably end up tossing out the rest of the Romaine lettuce. By the way, don’t expect most of your produce to come in plastic or even paper bags — you’ll have to put them in your refrigerator as they are or supply your own bags. A minor annoyance, but not a show-​stopper on its own.
Another thing that is annoying is that you’ll never feel comfortable that you’re really getting the reduced price on your first box until you get an email telling you the amount that, was charged to your card. Even then, I had to log onto my credit card account to verify it. If you go to their website to try to change your first order you’ll see that it starts with the full price, and when you receive your first box, the packing slip again shows the full price. They really need to fix this — it kind of freaks people out.
I’m debating on whether or not to continue this service. The jury is still out on that one.

So I wanted to leave a review of my first delivery here because I read a whole lot of reviews of people who had farm fresh to you for a long time and then upon their first negative experience left a review. So this morning I got my first delivery and — OMG — it was perfect! Everything was delivered right in front of my door. I double checked that the gate code for our complex was active and there was no problems. Woke up to two boxes out front. There was tons of stuff and everything looked delicious. My son jumped right into the fresh carrots, he’s only seen the org bunny kids sized, so that was surprising. He wanted to try everything! I’m so thrilled thank you!

My wife and I were looking forward for our first delivery this morning, it was delivered to the wrong address. When I called they started by saying they knew, that a person had called 35 minutes earlier to inform them of their mistake, why didn’t call us and fix the problem?
They suggest I could wait until the following week for our vegetables. Barbara, PLEASE UNDERSTAND, we, the people who sign up for your service, for the most part buy at the farmer’s markets; if we buy from the markets, the thought of getting them directly from the farmer would never cross our mind.
I was asked to wait a couple of hours and that the delivery supervisor would contact us. Four hours later, no call from anyone, I called to canceled, and as with customer service, a friendly and nice attitude, paradoxically, not giving a damn about the POOR SERVICE they were offering and what’s worse, giving their local farmers, who provide their goods a bad reputation.
I wish you well, in theory it’s a great concept, but in practice you are failing.

My wife and I were huge fans of the concept and product, maintaining our loyalty even after a handful of poor experiences with the deliveries. However, after their most recent screw-​up and subsequent refusal to accept responsibility, they provided exceptional customer service by quickly cancelling my account without question or any level of interest in retaining me as a customer. In some respects, that was refreshing, if not tremendously strange how little they cared about retaining us.
We live on a hill which takes about 20 steps to reach the door. After the first few deliveries, which were thoughtfully left right at our front door, finding our bi-​weekly box became somewhat of a scavenger hunt. For a few deliveries in a row, they actually left it around the corner, next to a fire hydrant. Had I not been lucky enough to glance out the window while driving by, I don’t know that we ever would have found it.
After calling to discuss with them, their rep was extremely helpful and subsequent deliveries began making it as far as our mailbox, at the bottom of the stairs. At least it was a step in the right direction and relatively safe from prying eyes and hands.
A few months later I contacted them again, requesting that they start bringing the box all the way to the door and indeed, they followed suit. I believe they even credited me a delivery which was much appreciated. However, I was a bit surprised it took multiple attempts to get this right.
I believe the company must have grown significantly in the past year or so, because over the past few months, the quality of certain items has decreased significantly. At the beginning, pretty much everything was really nice although at times their fruit was not terribly exciting and absolutely over-​priced for what we got. However, some things got so bad (primarily fruit but also vegetables from time to time) that we started removing just about all of the fruit from our deliveries.
Eventually, we realized that we were having trouble hitting our minimum for the large-​sized box so I decided to down-​grade us to regular size since you can always add more if you choose to. We had received our bi-​weekly delivery a few days prior so I was very careful when using their website that I only wanted to specify a change in the box size and definitely not in the delivery schedule. The website function for doing this was a bit confusing and it took me a couple tries to make sure I found the «downgrade» section, not the «addition» section — they don’t make it terribly easy. However, I found what appeared to be the right page and continued with my downgrade.
Never once did I see anything talking about changing my delivery date or that it may be changed. Yet, a few days later, on our off week, a new delivery appeared on the porch. Making matters worse, we were heading out of town for several days, something we hadn’t done in 5 months; this delivery could not have come at a worse time.
I quickly got online before leaving and sent a message to customer support. Their input field was rather limited and I had to explain the situation in a couple compact sentences. I did make it clear that I had not requested a date change and that the delivery was effectively wasted.
Unlike previous contacts, I did not hear back until a few days later, while out of town. Their response was even shorter than my original contact message and simply said that they did not believe me and that I had requested the date change so «tough luck» (no, they didn’t use those words but might as well have).
After having raved about FF to friends and family throughout the year+, I was stunned at this level of customer support (or lack thereof). My reply to them re-​stated that indeed I had not requested a date change and surmised that their website may be poorly designed for that function. I also elaborated on the fact that we were out of town and that I would never have changed the delivery date because of that. Irritated by the indication that I had done something that I had indeed not, I also told them to please cancel my service if they could and if not, I would follow-​up via phone upon returning home.
In this case, their support service was above and beyond. Moments after deplaning, I retrieved a voicemail and an email informing me that my account was fully paid and successfully deactivated. Not even a peep of an attempt at trying to retain me as a customer.
Well done FF — it appears you’ve grown too big to care about your customers. And while I may not be able to do much about being just another number with my cable, Internet, cell phone providers, I can indeed spend a bit more time choosing my own produce at the supermarket.

VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!
I was excited to receive my first box and so were my kids, It never came and the company did not bother to contact me. I had to contact them and found their customer service poor. All they could say was they could not find my address. Any GPS can find my house, and I know because I had to use it to find it before I moved in. I find this excuse very poor and unacceptable! No I am sorry let us make it up to you. Instead I got «your next box will arrive in two weeks». The company did not care if I cancelled my service. They said «call us back and let us know if you want to cancel or receive a box in two weeks.» I have several friends waiting to see how this company worked, so they could decide if they want to join. I will not recommend this company to anyone after this. I will look for another company that cares about their customers. This company does not care!!!

We LOVE LOVE LOVE Farm Fresh to You! I get fresh fruits and veggies delivered right to my door. They are usually cheaper than bel air, and I don’t have to haul my kids to the grocery store. If any of my produce looks unsatisfactory they send me new food. It’s amazing! They also have other products like fresh honey and pasture raised eggs.
They deliver to my neighborhood early Friday morning so I can get it while its still cold outside. They also recycle and re use the boxes, so I just leave the old ones outside and get a new one every week. :)
This is the way food should be everywhere!
