Allergy And Asthma Relief Experts

After taking my daughter to her regular pediatrician, and thinking that she had psoriasis, we visited Dr. Offenberger. His friendly manner, and professional knowledge are a great combination in the field of medicine. His no nonsense approach is refreshing, and his staff are very pleasant. My fiancé and I are happy he practices in the Santa Clarita valley, and my daughter’s skin is on the way to be healed.

I had a severe allergic reaction to food at a family’s house and I told my primary doctor I would like to do a test to see what exactly I am allergic to and was sent to Dr. Offenberger’s office in the valley. Prior to an appointment I came in and explained I live 10 mins away from this office and if I could make an appointment here instead.
They were fine with that I was given an appointment, the first visit was like another post on here… Quick, asked about what I want to get accomplished, told I need testing and another appointment was made.
After a long time waiting (since they had to send a request, said request needed to be approved and then we could move forward)
I had another appointment to get the skin test. I had only wanted a food allergy test I was tested on plants, dust, animals and then food.
I am allergic to almost everything at the end of my testing and we went over my results, encouraged to get shots, and if I wanted more specifics on the food I would have to go through the billing process again and another appointment.
All in all I was satisfied with proof of what I am allergic to because my own family seems to think I just «don’t want to try» certain things lol
BUT I never went back for the specifics on my fish allergies which was my sole purpose of my visits. The thing I thought was kind of ridiculous was the amount they bill to your insurance…
$ 100 for the visit, to schedule the actual testing appointment
and then
$ 720 for the testing which according to my insurance claims they were denied and had to be appealed…
No WONDER MY INSURANCE DIDN’T WANT TO COVER. It would be nice if I could’ve just been tested on what I knew I wanted and got the answers I was actually looking for.
The employees were nice and the place was not too busy, the first time I went in person to ask about moving here they were closed, but you could here them inside talking and laughing I think they were on lunch?

I almost gave them 2 stars just based on how nice most of his staff was, but I couldn’t bring myself to do it when I thought about my experience.
The doctor is nice, but he spends about 4 minutes with you total. He comes across like he doesn’t have time to answer your questions, so you get a quick diagnosis (that you have allergies and need shots… shocking, that’s obviously why I’m there), and then he’s out of the room and leaving you with his staff to assist. Most of his staff was friendly and informative and answered my questions. But they were questions I had to think of, rather than information they would’ve provided me with just because they should have.
My biggest problem was with the girl who administered my test, then wiped it off. I wish I could remember her name, but I’m unable to. I just remember her being hispanic and having gold hair. She had a HORRIBLE attitude. She made it clear that she was annoyed by every step of the process. She shut the door on me when I asked a question, after giving me a quick half smile and abrupt answer. I guess that’s sign I should shut my mouth and not know anything about what was going on. I don’t know if she was having a bad day, or if she just hates her job (or people) that much, but it was super awkward and uncomfortable.
I went for a second opinion from a different allergist and the entire experience was MUCH better. The new allergist spent over 1 hour just asking about my history of allergies and explaining why treatment I had didn’t work. I provided him with the allergy test results from Allergy & Asthma Institute, along with pictures of my results I took, and he told me how the results the girl with blonde hair wrote down weren’t entirely accurate for my results. Thanks to the girl with blonde hair, that allergy test was super expensive, and also would’ve been the key to me feeling better. And that is why I can only give them one star. Because if nothing else about my experience was good, the allergy test results should’ve been accurately recorded so that I would receive the correct treatment. Because who really wants to get multiple shots multiple times each week for several years straight, to find you you didn’t improve much because someone didn’t want to take the time to correctly record your results?! Not me. I’m so glad I listened to my gut and went somewhere else. Oh, and the new doctor has me using different over the counter and rx medicines for relief until the shots start working. Where Allergy and Asthma Institute told me to continue what I was doing, despite the fact that it hadn’t been working for months. And you know what, I’m already feeling better! And even more importantly, I trust that I’m with a doctor and his staff who care about my well being.

I normally go to the Granada Hills office but I love this doctor so much I had to write a review for each of his offices AND I don’t understand the negative reviews. He is amazing.
For years I had issues with my breathing diagnosed as COD. I put off going to another doctor even though my GP raved about Dr Offenberger. I finally went and after 8 years of breathing hell my life has been changed. No COD!!! IT WAS ALLERGIES! Now with medication I have my life back. THANK YOU DOCTOR OFFENBERGER.

I have had a constant running nose and trouble breathing for 15 years. 4 years ago my breathing became extremely labored with a constant violent cough! My family had enough & hounded me to figure out what was wrong. I went to 5 different specialists, 2 otolaryngology doctors and pulmonary doctors. I smoked when I was younger, so I think dr’s assumed my issue was smoke related. After suffering for years I had to try to find out what was wrong, I went through chest and nose X-​rays, MRI’s, endoscopy, sputum tests breathing tests, etc. The pulmonary specialist told me my exhale was equal to a 95 YEAR OLDS that smoked a pack a day, that they think I have COPD but they weren’t sure. I GAVE UP! I was done. I had a follow up appt w my general & she sent me to Dr Jacob Offenberger in Canyon Country. He walked in and asked me how long I had been coughing so violently for. he did a few tests and told me I did not have COPD that I am allergic to dogs. Can you believe it! After years of suffering and the expense of all those tests it was all allergies! Dr. Offenberger is a GOD SEND!

I am writing this review about the Granada Hills office.
I have been getting my allergy shots here for the past three years. I have never loved coming here, but I have come to despise my monthly visits more and more. The receptionists are rude, incompetent and demeaning. They are completely incompetent and don’t care about the patients coming in. They are too busy talking amongst themselves to pay any attention to those needing assistance. They act like they know everything, but are completely brainless and unintelligent. Any time I call them, they give me so much attitude. I am constantly being put on hold while they go and ask everyone for the answer I am seeking. I have to ask the same question multiple times to finally get an answer.
As for the ladies working in the allergy shot room… they are the primary reason I am leaving this office. There is a new lady who gives the shot and she is terrible. Even though my name is on my file, she still refers to me as ma’m. She never smiles and treats me like I am ignorant and stupid. She is dense and rude. The other ladies who used to work here were extremely friendly. They made it such a comfortable place to be in and I used to enjoy coming in to see them. They always had a smile on their face and made every effort to ask about my life and how my family was doing.
If you can go to another place I would highly recommend you do. This place has gone downhill. I cannot stand coming here any longer and am taking my business elsewhere.

I’ve been coming here for 2 years for my allergy shots. I have to say, I really enjoy the staff here. They are friendly, funny and help move things along quickly. Dr. Offenberger (may have misspelled the name) is awesome too. He is to the point, knowledgeable and has a good, but dry sense of humor.
Parking is very limited in the private lot, but there is plenty of street parking as well. The building is old, but I’m not here to rent out a property… I’m here to see a doc and leave.
