Mint Canyon Elementary School

This year my daughter has come home with lice more than once. I notified the school and all they did was remove her from class everyday to check her even after I treated her they would still call me to pick her up. I asked if they had checked the class and they said no it takes too long to do so and that it came from home. No one at home has lice but her. After many birthday parties I found out at least 8 other children have lice as well all in different grades and classes but all go to mint canyon. I told the school but since none of the parents have said anything they will not check anyone. I have spent hundreds of dollars on treatment salons shampoos washed everything almost every week and am still combing her hair every night with the nit comb. Her head is raw and starting to have dandruff! I can’t wait till summer to get rid of this and if it comes back next year I will have to transfer both my kids out of the school. The school itself is wonderful the teachers are great so it will suck to have to remove them.
Also I bought the fairy tales shampoo and conditioner lice repel and it helps repel lice in lice infested places organic and smells great so far it is helping but it can be pricing for families on a budget I don’t want to have to be buying this product all the time.

Seems like a good school considering the area the school is located in is not.
The school ciricculum for transitional kindergarten is well thought through and diversifies the children’s learning experiences beyond the typical English, math etc. It includes cooking, design, art and other activities to tap into the creative minds of young students.
School is clean, plenty of morning school attendants to watch over the kids.
