Had A/​C problems. Brought it here. They told me it was the compressor and it needed replaced. Over $ 1000 to do job. Had them do it. 3 Months later I had to return with the same problem. The compresser they installed wasn’t working anymore. They replaced it. 4 Months later Winter comes, don’t use A/​C. Now Winter passes and A/​C doesn’t work again. Take it to another a/​c repair shop, they tell me the compressor isn’t working and the one Halseys had installed is a cheap remanufactured one. Going to cost over $ 1000 again.

I’ve been there three times with various car issues and each time they fixed it fast and gave me a really good price that is lower than I expect.
They are really honest about the problem and what needs to be done and very friendly. I came in a fourth time with a transmission leak and they referred me to a transmission place they trust and threw in a couple quarts of transmission fluid in without charge so I can drive the couple miles to the transmission shop.
I’ve been burned many times with various mechanic shops but these people have really earned my trust and I have no problems recommending them to anyone.

When I lived in Canyon Country, I always took my cars here for all my repairs and maintenance. There is no shop on Earth I trust more. I recommended Halsey’s to all my friends and family.

I went to Halsey’s because it’s been there forever and you usually don’t stay in business by being a bad/​overpriced mechanic. Plus, I figured his overhead was cheaper for it looking like a run down shop, therefore he doesn’t need to charge as much as the newer looking shops… I WAS WRONG.
I went in for brakes and an oil change. His receipt was very glib «Replace/​resurface rotors»… well which one was it? Then I could understand the $ 500 you charged me.
Also charged me an extra $ 60 to «bleed brakes of fluid and replace», isn’t this included in an oil change?
Lastly, he charged me FULL PRICE FOR AN OIL CHANGE! After $ 550 of work he has the balls to do that?
After I found a reliable mechanic, I showed him my invoice from Halsey’s and he laughed, and stated jokingly, «man, I wish I could get away with that.»
Halsey’s is a joke.

I went to many places before finding Halsey’s where they constantly tried to «up-​sell» services they said I needed and did not. This has never happened here. I’ve been taking my cars here for oil changes and service for five years now and couldn’t be happier. Never had a problem. If something comes up on my older car they give me a call and actually give me a «this can wait for a while» or «this needs fixing» update.
I would recommend this place to anyone.

I’m surprised no one has talked about this place. I’ve been a loyal customer since 1994. They are fair, honest, and know their stuff. They have worked on my Dodge Caravan, My Ford focus, My Mazdaspeed3 and most importantly my Restored 1969 Plymouth GTX! They have a solid staff and Tom their lead mechanic can fix anything anywhere. Halsey is a great guy, and will tell you what needs to be done and what doesn’t. Give ‘em a try.
