We came here for lunch a few weeks ago. The place is small, and about 80% bar. There were only 2 tables that would fit 3 or more people, the rest of the tables were 2 seaters. Definitely not ideal for kids(well it is a bar after all) or big groups. The food was pretty good but there’s a limited menu. I was very impressed by the service. One woman was running the whole place. She was the bartender, waitress, busboy, etc and she rocked it.

Pete’s is a great place. Not huge but a pretty decent size bar and probably 10 – 12 tables or so. Food is usually excellent pub food and always have a large diverse specials list that changes daily. Owner Pete is a great guy. I’ve been coming here for years and hope it never changes.

I have been coming here since the summer with friends. The food is very good,(Steak+Cheese and mozzarella sticks is normally by go to. My friends normally order the calamari salad and the grilled chicken wrap which they said was good as well. I don’t see why they don’t get more stars. They have great Jukebox that plays great music when you want to have a drink with friends. It is a great atmosphere and a great to meet other townees from Canton. The bartenders are also great at making mixed drinks(not to strong not to weak).

I like to support businesses where I live and because I have a positive attitude, I don’t like to write negative reviews. This past summer my friend and I went to eat here. There were several flies landing on our food and hands. When we told the waitress/bartender about the flies which she couldn’t help but notice, she said«the owner likes the door opened» and didn’t close the door. She appeared more interested in talking with her co-worker than attending to us(we were the only customers in the restaurant). We barely ate the meal and had to walk out. Even though the employee wasn’t attentive and we barely ate the meal, my friend gave her a generous tip. I saw the owner tonight and when I approached him he said«he heard all about it» Because I didn’t know what he heard, I wanted to tell him what transpired, but he didn’t want to talk about it and walked away from me. I told him we shouldn’t have been charged and his response was because the employee wasn’t the owner, they had to charge us. At most restaurants when something is wrong, the employees are apologetic and would have voided/adjusted the bill without the presence of an owner. The owner told me my friend should have called him and he would have given him another meal-really-nobody is going to call an owner to tell him about flies landing on his food. Obviously if a door is opened, what do you expect? Even though the owner I saw tonight at a store wasn’t the most pleasant person I have ever encountered, I have nothing against him and like businesses in my town to thrive. I hope he will observe and communicate with waitstaff about service-I read the reviews on this site and there appears to be an issue with service so it wasn’t just our experience.

The food is basic bar menu items. They sprinkle in some extra items every now and then with their specials. The food is pretty good. I have eaten here a few times now. Haven’t had a bad meal but I also haven’t had a great meal. The staff is friendly. They do tend to stick around the bar and forget the tables from time to time. The beer selection isn’t bad. I ordered a Guiness last time I was there. It smelled sour and tasted a bit off. The staff gladly offered to pour me a new beer. I don’t think Guiness moves very fast in a town bar like that. Overall not a bad place for a casual night out.

Service is awful, food isn’t great either very bland no taste. I went here the other night with my brother and his gf for trivia night. It was so lame the person running it didn’t know what she was doing she constantly put the microphone to close to the speaker causing ear damage to everyone in attendance. The bartenders obviously don’t care about new customers, I stood there for about 10 mins before getting her attention to get my check, then when I was trying to pay she ignored me. I don’t think I’ll be coming back here…

I was looking for a new place to play trivia during the week. Pete’s Place has an average beer selection and pretty good food. I was with 3 other people and seating is a little tight. I had a Grilled Chicken Sandwich, it was juicy and flavorful and the fries were good. The others ordered wings. The wings were great! I highly recommend trying these in any of the flavors they offer!

My husband and I were frequent Pete’s Place diners, once a week at times. However, we have been very disappoined the last few times we have been there. There is one new(I think new anyway) bartender that is not so kind. The first time we dined there that she was working she was gossiping very negatively with her friend who was visiting and ignoring the patrons at the bar for much of the time. I ordered a Guiness and Pumpkin beer and she did not layer the Guiness on top but rather mixed them both together making for a very bad drink. The Voice was on the TV while we were eating and when she wasn’t gossiping with her friend she was making fun of the contestents on the show — overall her vibe was VERY negative. To avoid eating there and not having the best ambiance my husband ordered a couple turkey tip salads«to go» the other week. It was HORRIBLE. Every piece of turkey had a big line of fat down each piece. We attempted to eat it but it was so bad we ended up just giving it to our dogs. I wondered how anyone would allow that food to be served. I decided to write this because my husband and I were trying to decide where to eat tonight and when he mentioned Pete’s Place I reminded him of the not-so-great service and awful food so we did not go there. However, I am hoping that something shifts at Pete’s and it will go back to all the things we loved about it. Great bartenders and good food.

Townie bar. Don’t go here unless you live in the neighborhood. They don’t treat people they don’t recognize very kindly.

Its one of the only places in town and it seems as though the bartenders have that attitude. Food and drinks are OK

My family and I have all been regulars at Pete’s Place for years, but last week we made the decision not to give our business here anymore. For a quiet place like Canton, you’d think that any bartenders would be making friends with the locals, but the bartenders at Pete’s are anything but friendly. It is to the point of being uncomfortable. The last time we were there we were left for 10+ minutes before being served and as we waited for an apology, the bartender simply barked at us for our drink orders. Later on we asked if we’d done something to upset her and she was extremely defensive and played dumb to the fact that she’d been very rude earlier on. I have heard very kind things about Pete but he really needs to hire some better staff to help make the atmosphere more welcoming. Otherwise, Pete’s Place has a lot of great things going for it. It has pretty good pub food, and the Thursday night trivia is an awesome night out. You can’t beat the location in town when you don’t want to leave Canton, but until the atmosphere improves, I don’t think this will be our local anymore.

Great food with a good selection of classic and unique food options. I have gone several times to watch a pats game or dinner with the wife. Not reccomened for kids but a great place for adults to eat relax and drink. No rowdy nonsense here but not an old fart bar either. A perfect mix for my style.

I love this place. Every time I have come in, we sit at the bar for a few hours and have some drinks. The atmosphere is TV Cheers esque with dark wood wrap around bar, tables and high tops, tvs lining the walls with the local news on and a wide range of regulars. THAT’S what gives this place charm. I like coming in here and feeling like I am at a local hangout. It is very clean and they always have great food and drink specials.

This is really a 2.5 star review. We went here for the first time for a drink and were left saying, «Meh». The beer selection was minimal, the sangria came out of a bottle, and the prices were a little steep for the selection. Service was okay, so we may come back for food another time.

Dear God, I’ll keep this short and sweet. You know how I feel about the suburbs. I know, I’m sorry — I remember what I did last time. But. You. You put the best GODDAMN fried clam roll I have ever had in the suburbs. Shit. Sorry God, didn’t mean to take your name in vain to your face. Shit. And swear in front of you. But GODDAMN that was seriously WOW. Crap. I give up. Just go there yourself God. For the love of all things fried and from the sea. The crowd you let linger in this place, is what can we call them… eclectic, retired, drunk, swinging, hungry, and appreciative of really LOUD bad music. God. this is my kind of place. Why the hell did you put in Canton? Shit. Crap. God. More fried clams please. Thank you.

My date and I only stopped into Pete’s Place for a drink before sushi at Takara, but the half-hour I spent there was enjoyable. The bar is very nice, and it is the center attraction in the establishment. The restaurant includes several booths and tables surrounding a large oval-shaped bar. The bartenders were quick to serve, and I was pleased to see the pumpkin ale they had on tap. Pete’s Place is A-OK in my Unilocal book.

Now, I’m a Boston gal and am somtimes skeptical of dining in the burbs. However, I’m rethinking this notion after stopping for dinner with my old high school friend at Pete’s Place. My friend just moved to Canton and we thought we would do some exploring. We just picked it at random and were very pleased we did. The calamari appetizer was a perfect pick. It was served in classy fashion on a black triangle plate but it was not pretentious — the calamari was a generous portion and crispy but not too greasy. There was a side dish of jalapenos and hot red pepper that was a lovely compliment as well. I’ll mention here too that the waiter was great. He was a down to earth guy, friendly but not too chatty who gave us plenty of time to place our orders and was all around efficient. Our entrees were bacon and scallop medallion salad and buffalo chicken wrap respectively. Both meals were great. The salad contained a hearty portion of the bacon wrapped goodness, about 6 – 7 medallions, over a lovely bedding of fresh veggies, tangy dressing and two very yummy sticks of garlic bread. A very satisfying salad indeed. My friend said his wrap was delicous. From my side of the table the french fries looked golden and crispy. We finished with a slice of the chocolate cake. I will note that they don’t have a dessert menu — just two things to order which the waiter will describe, both chocolate. This is fine with me but take note dessert people, there is not an extensive selection in that capacity. Still, the place was a wonderful surprise and I’m rethinking burb dining. Maybe the food has to be good — because why the hell else would you go to Canton?

You wouldn’t expect a place as small as Pete’s to have food as good as they do, but they have a terrific selection of dinner salads as well as a full menu of great food. The drinks are priced about average, the service is friendly, and they have Keno and several TVs scattered around. Definitely not a college crowd — it tends to be a little yuppier, but not obnoxiously so. It’s a great place to meet for a low-key drink and a bite to eat.
