Stopped in for lunch this week — first visit. Had the Grecian salad. The salad was acceptable, nothing special. I was put off by the men’s room; smelled like a sewer was backing up. Made me wonder what the conditions were in the kitchen

From my understanding this place has changed chefs, owners, and/or management a time or two over the last few years. I also believe the menu has changed quite significantly during this period as well. However, we went here because a friend suggested it and I believe he went when it was a more«fine dining» experience. This is not the case anymore. FIrst, the restaurant was nearly dead on a Friday at 6:30pm which should have been our first clue. Despite not being busy, we had very sub par service. The food was just bad. Nothing was how it sounded based on the menu and it was flavorless and boring. I will not be trying this place again, there is no reason for me to go back here to get another poor meal.

In comparison, to Napoli’s pizza nearby, so so. Décor is ok. Beer selection is not bad. I want to say about average.

Surprisingly good. Here on a business dinner. The rest of the table shared a few pizzas but I ordered a meal. I had the Thai Pork, crispy, fall off the bone pork shanks with Thai sweet chili glaze over roasted red pepper risotto. Description pasted from their menu. $ 15. It was just as described! Very tasty and a good portion. I almost had the chocolate«cake» dessert it sounded so good, but I had to pass. I would go back. Also, 1st Friday of every month they participate in the festivities of the area and have a live band.

Worst Worst Worst Service on more than one occassion. Food is nothing to get excited about. Greg does not value customers or customer service. I havent been back and that has been for over 2 years. THISPLACESUCKS!

I wish canton would realize how much we want a downtown restaurant to succeed. I think little details matter – went to Pete’s today for an early dinner. I love the outside of the place, inside it looks shabbier than I recall. Torn chairs, dirty rug. light bulbs burnt out, dust on the heating vents and light fixtures. No offer of a second cup of coffee, no offer of dessert, spoiled creamer brought to the table with other creamers already opened. the website doesnt work(clicking on dinner menu only gives you the lunch menu). The waitress finished a meal she was eating at the bar before coming to the table, etc etc. This all sounds petty, and maybe it is. But if a Bob Evans or John’s Bar can get those things right, people arent going to pay more to go downtown to a «Gastro Pub», as much as they’d love to see downtown Canton establishments compete and succeed.

I was in town from Orange County, CA for a wedding and I ended up at this restaurant with a friend. It was a Thursday evening and we went for some food and drinks. The menu was very diverse and pleased all the food moods I was in. They had tapas, pastas, pizzas, steaks, seafood, desserts, and of course the best dirrrrty martinis a girl could ask for! I’m very picky about my dirty marinits and I was pleasantly surprised! For food, we tried the spanakopita, calamari, and grape leaves. I’ve had grape leaves once in my life and were very bitter and didn’t like them. So I was hesitant to try them again but LOVED them here! They were so moist and delicious! After the apps, we tried a mini pizza, salad, scallops, and the big-eye(14 oz. rib eye) which was to DIEFOR! I don’t eat meat very often and when I do, it better be worth it! And believe me, this steak did not disappoint! I was enjoying every savory bite and ordered it with extra seasoning which was a great choice! They also have a vast selection of wines to choose from which was awesome! This Cali girl was definitely not complaining! We also had a dessert with baklava and another dessert with fresh fruits in it which were delicious! Our server and the GM, Greg, were highly accomodating and friendly to this out of towner. We definitely left with leftovers and upon my next visit to Ohio(which will be next summer for yet another wedding) I will most defintiely be hitting up Pete’s again! The service and the food were both unforgettable! Defintiely a must try!
