History
Established in 1910.
The Hazel Boone Dance Studio just celebrated our 100th year. Ms. Hazel Boone opened her first dance studio in Boston in 1910. Ms. Boone is acknowledged as a pioneer dance educator and hailed for her contribution to the profession. In 1954, her daughter, Sandra Simpson Philpott, took over the studio, leaving a successful professional dance career. In 1998, the torch was passed to Philpott’s daughter, Holly Costa — the current director of one of the oldest family-run dance studios in the country.

Business Owner
Holly Costa trained at the Hazel Boone Studios, the Mary Flynn Murphy Studio and the Boston Conservatory and has a degree in education from the University of Massachusetts. She has won awards as a Tap and Jazz soloist and judges local and national dance competitions. She is an active member of the Dance Teachers’ Club of Boston and Dance Masters Of America.
