Habitat for Humanity ReStore is more than just a home improvement store — it’s a community improvement store. Our inventory comes from donations from people just like you. Sales from ReStore help fund the mission of Habitat for Humanity — so your donation helps families right here in our community. Plus, whether you donate or shop, you are helping keep usable items out of landfills. It’s a win-win for everyone!
History
Established in 2005.
Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Canton opened in July of 2005 at 2800 Leemont Avenue NW. The store would serve as a fundraising division of Habitat for Humanity East Central Ohio, and as a way to help keep useable items from being thrown in the trash.
Although the size of the store at Leemont seemed more than adequate when the doors first opened, ReStore soon outgrew its original site. In June of 2007, ReStore moved to its next location — a more spacious home at 4525 Cleveland Avenue NW. Since it opened in 2005, the ReStore has been a huge part of helping Habitat for Humanity East Central Ohio strive toward the goal of eliminating poverty housing, and has diverted over 1,200 tons of reuseable items from landfills.
In August 2014, Habitat for Humanity East Central Ohio opened its second Canton area Habitat for Humanity ReStore at 1400 Raff Road SW.
