Loved the different toppings and types of glaze you can pick from. Very good warm gooey doughnuts and I especially liked their glazed options that are not too sweet.

We love that this place is a safe haven for kids with nut allergies! The donuts aren’t life changing, but they’re fresh and tasty and definitely worth the trip and price for kids who can’t eat bakery goods usually because of nut cross contamination risk. Looks like the owner is trying to sell (sniff!) and we hope the next owner would keep the nut free environment going.

There really aren’t any bakeries in Canton, so getting a really fresh doughnut was impossible until Fractured Prune graced us with their presence in our humble town. Oops. City. Oops. Township. On a rare occasion I wanted something sweet for breakfast, but didn’t want to take the time for pancakes or french toast so I stopped at Fractured Prune for a sweet bit of Heaven.
I got their orange cream doughnut. It was a cake doughnut with an orange glaze and powdered sugar. The glaze was pretty sweet, but it the doughnut was delicious and not too greasy!
The coffee is worth mentioning! It was delicious!!! I didn’t have high expectations, but it was as good as Starbucks or Tim Hortons.
The staff were extremely friendly. While I waited in line, a staff person explained all of the options, and how to order.
The inside of the restaurant was very clean and modern.
I would recommend if you were looking for something unique!

I had an excellent experience here. There is a huge selection of doughnuts to choose from which I loved. The place seemed very clean and the staff very friendly. It was my sons birthday so they put a candle in his doughnut which I thought was cute.
But let’s not forget that the doughnuts were delicious! I thought they were going to be bigger than they were but that was probably for the best anyways. Lol.
We will definitely be back!

Been wanting to try this place for quite some time. Pretty neat concept. Even though it WASN’T one of the best donuts I’ve ever had, I still liked the fact that they were fresh & hot. LOVED that I could watch the donut making process from beginning till end! Would stop back in if in the area, but probably wouldn’t go out of my way? Service & cleanliness were both acceptable.

I have been here only twice, so I do not claim to be an expert on custom donuts. The building boasts an interior with a glass divider where you can see the unenthused 18 year old plopping dough into a frying machine. Also larger-​then-​life FatHeads of their donuts. There is one type of donut but many glazes and toppings so if you are too indecisive picking anything, you will suffer a near panic attack deciding a combination while the total of one customer waits nonchalantly behind you. I went with their «special» donuts which already have combinations listed for you to choose. Donuts are not too bad; hot, fresh, light yet somehow mediocre. The glazes are so sweet one taste will send a small child into a sugar frenzy. On top of that, they dip these hot hot donuts into the glaze and guess what happens? It all melts off into the box. Why don’t you cool these things down a bit before decoration? It slides down the sides, leaving you with a mushy donut. I will take a lukewarm donut with nice, thick glaze please. I’m sure others would also like to eat these donuts without burning fingers or having to wait the 30 minute car ride home to taste what they paid for. Great concept, not so great execution.
Every flavor I have tried isn’t what it’s advertised to be. You expect more but get so much less. The second trip here was my final. Prices aren’t bad but it is no reason to drive to Canton for.

Doughnuts were really good! They were made fresh and had some really creative and interesting combinations. Plus you can create your own doughnut which is something I’ve never seen before. The price wasn’t too terrible either, $ 9 for 6 doughnuts, which is on the higher side but makes sense. I will be coming back!

The donuts are very tasty! Love the variety of favors & toppings. I couldn’t eat these regularly but definitely a couple times of year.

Very cool place! They make the donuts to order so they always come out hot. It caught me off guard at first bite. You can try 30 different donut combinations from plain to smore! You can evencreate your own with several toppings like marshmallow or chocolate chips. It reminds me of a tasty fresh cider mill donut. Make sure to plan on being there a little while since everything is made on the spot but it is so worth it! They even have small step ladders so kids can watch the donuts being made!
Great breakfast on the weekend. I will be back soon.

This place is extremely unique, and fun for the whole family. I think of it as a subway for doughnuts. The staff is always friendly, and the doughnuts are delicious. They almost have too many options. I love bringing a box of doughnuts to work. The only big down side is the price. It may be a tad bit expensive for my wallet, but I will continue to splurge. Great job FP!

Bought a recent Groupon for this place on advice of a friend and even with the 40% discount afforded by the deal, this place is nothing special, and neither are the donuts. Sure watching them fry and make your doughnuts in front of you adds a bit of novelty to the concept, but the doughnuts themselves are nothing to write home about.
The enthusiasm of the staff taking the order or your money was nothing short uninviting. Ordered three custom made doughnuts – at a cost of $ 1.70 each before Groupon, and I have to say that even 70 cents a doughnut is too much for the size of the confection you get.
Sure I’m aware that a dozen doughnuts these days hovers around $ 8 or more, but much like custom made cupcakes are way overpriced for nothing, these custom made to order doughnuts were just OK. I ordered a menu listed S’mores doughnut and watched the baker put it in the box missing a key topping and had to bring it to his attention. Without apology, he added the missing topping.
Overall, three stars are a stretch, and once my Groupons are spent, I probably won’t return. Concept is great, sort of a Yougurt bar type of operation, but they do all the work. You can only really fit a single topping on top of the wet dip (honey, chocolate, pseudo caramel), so you may get two or three at best.
Atmosphere is typical donut shop, clean and neat, but it was empty both times I’ve gone, so I don’t know what it’s like. But this place definitely needs some enthusiasm from it’s help.

After hearing so much about FP we was excited to try these fried goodies ourselves… a half an hour later, we arrived.
The first thing I noticed was it’s a self explanatory operation, a donut buffet of sorts that the workers make your personalized creations based on what you put on an order card. I loved the French Toast, OC Sands and seasonal Red Velvet flavors.
After we picked our flavors and we were checking out I discovered a list of additional flavor combos, couldn’t the workers or pointed us to look at this list also for more ideas? Not very helpful, so look around before making your decisions.
The product was good reheated the next day but after that they start getting stale.
I was bummed that they didn’t offer a half dozen option. That creates a problem for single couples, who the heck needs a full dozen? And let’s be honest, we aren’t just going to just buy one… we don’t ‘play skinny’ in my family. Lol! I guess ‘that’s where they get ya”. So $ 15 a dozen it is! Ugh! $$$$
You’re paying for the novelty but personally I’d rather purchase a half dozen of «HOT NOW» Krispy Kreme donuts right by my house at a fraction of the cost.

It was my first time visiting this kind of establishment. Fun idea. The doughnuts were quite good and the glaze was satisfying. My son loved the doughnuts! The place was clean, in appearance, and the service was friendly. I would return!

Got 4 dozens to take it to work. Various kinds. Obviously made fresh, right before my eyes (took about 5 minutes). Tasted fresh and warm. Toppings were great.
4 dozen donuts vanished in minutes. Every one enquired where I got these from. So, expect lot of ppl from my reference. Lol.
It’s actually perfect place for kids. Build your own donut. Awesome.
It’s slightly in the pricier side but when I signed up for the perks I got some discounts. So it’s probably ok.
And mainly, Super friendly service, this morning there were two girls, always smiling and helpful. You guys will see me more often.

Let me preface this review with the fact that I have a tremendous sweet tooth! So, naturally, since I live a couple miles from here, I decided to stop in and give it a try. It didn’t hurt that it was recommended by my colleagues. I walked in and the place smelled delicious. There were a couple people that walked in before me, but there was no line. I was asked if I had been there before, and I replied I hadn’t. The staff gave me the run down on what the shop was all about and how to place an order, what types of things they offer and how to get adventurous. I asked about the name and they told me it was actually a franchise, but this was the only location in Michigan… I felt honored they started here in Canton.
I scanned the brochure-​like card they gave me, at all the pre-​selected types of donuts and strangely nothing wowed me with the description. So, I flipped it over and decided to create my own. (Something I hate doing, personally because I never know what would be good… which is why I really don’t care for Mongolian BBQ). I started piecing ingredients together when I realized I «created» one of their pre-​made selections, haha. I «created» the Smore’s donut, but with sprinkles. I also decided to take home the Green with Envy (Mint Chocolate Chip) and Strawberry Shortcake for my husband and kids to taste.
They make these donuts to order, starting with a cake donut base, like a cider mill donut. It turns out crispy and warm, kind of gooey when all the toppings are added. They then dip your donut into the glaze of your choice and the selected toppings, which kind of takes the «crisp» out of the freshly fried donut. The donut becomes kind of messy to eat, with the glaze melting the toppings onto the donut, and if there are chocolate chips, they become melted onto the donut into the glaze.
Eating these with utensils might be the best way, much less messy. They do offer a drive thru, but if you are on your way anywhere where there are other humans, I wouldn’t suggest attempting to eat these on the drive, unless you want to be wearing half of your donut by the time you are finished.
The Smore’s donut was very good, not too sweet, I would definitely order that again. We all sampled the Mint and Strawberry Donuts and boy oh boy, those were very sweet. So sweet, that we couldn’t finish them all. My Hubs loves Mint Chocolate Chip, but he couldn’t finish this because it was so sweet. Were they good? Of course… but I will warn, I ate the Smore’s one when I was in the shop, and it was delish, but then I took the others home and they were sort of soggy by the time I got home, just because of the glaze and the heat from being fresh. It didn’t bother me that much, but some people may not like that.
Fractured Prune just came by my work this past week, and dropped off a few selections for us to try and I tried a different flavor, Blueberry Hill. Let me tell you, I never would have ordered this one, and it was absolutely amazing! I’m now kind of craving that as I type this. Those dropped off donuts were finished within 30 minutes of them arriving and everyone was commenting on how delicious they were. Two of my colleagues liked them so much, they went there after work to get more!
If they were located on Ford Road, there is no doubt this place would be rockin’, but because it’s kind of off the beaten path a bit, no one really knows it’s there and those that see it, don’t know what it is, because the name ‘Fractured Prune’ is not really self explanatory.
But, the staff was helpful when choosing a selection and the shop itself looked clean. The only thing to be aware of is that it is not cheap. If you are going in thinking you’re getting a Tim Horton’s donut for .89 cents, you will be surprised to see the donuts are all over $ 1.50 each. So, be prepared to spend $ 5 easily on a few donuts.
Give them a try, I’m going back… I still have more donuts to try! :-)

I rarely make it to this side of town, so when I was close I decide to stop in.
It was pretty early on a Sunday so the place was empty. I got the French Toast doughnut.
It really wasn’t bad, had the eat it with a fork… was crispy on the outside but messy from the glaze.
One thing was the price, I’m glad I bought only one.
I may stop back in, but not with my family of 5…

We came here because the donuts and toppings are peanut/​tree nut free which means my kids with severe allergies can feel like a regular kid for a change.
The wheels fall off the wagon almost immediately upon arrival. Want a dozen to go because you’re running late? Forgettaboutit! They make donuts to order here. Props for freshness but it takes close to 10 minutes for a single donut to make it from the batter to the toppings table. They can make 4 at a time and then we wait. You get to the table and the. You have to wait at least another 5 minutes for cool down time or risk burning your mouth like I did.
My donut was good but not 15 minute good. I don’t think the delayed gratification pays off here. Give me my damn donuts and let me feed the beast. Watched two customers walk right in and walk right out because they weren’t going to wait. Can’t blame them. I’ll wait for the chocolate soufflé at Ruth Chris but not for donut at an untested franchise.
Price wise, prepare to spend. $ 1.65 for a single donut isn’t outrageous but spending almost $ 16 for a dozen, forget it. Dutch Girl has spoiled me at $ 8.00. Unless we’re talking about Voodoo style donuts, the donut by in large seems to be something that shouldn’t be complicated. Leave that to bagels.

I, like Liz below, love doughnuts. I mostly want to second her review. The novelty is fun and customer service is above average, almost too nice. The doughnut isn’t bad, but unlike great doughnuts (Hinkleys, Dutch girls, Looney Baker) I don’t crave these. Like its been said, glazes and toppings are sugary and low quality. The doughnut does have that fresh taste, but I feel like the mix is prepackaged, it has a somewhat chemical taste. I did enjoy the coloring sheet to put on the wall.

I am a total doughnut/​donut snob. I confess. I spent five years getting my degree at Western in Kalamazoo, earning my fat ass by swinging by the Sweetwater Donut Mill on the regular. I was a stressed out insomniac, it was open and dammit it was good. I also have been known to drag my ass outta bed to crawl my way across the metro area to grab some Dutch Girls before anyone else gets a crack at them. Yeah, I am that kind of doughnut person.
Fractured Prune seems forced to me. The kind of place your child will love but your grown self goes hmmm.

Yeah. I can see people who this makes jump for joy. I am not really one of them. I can create a damned tasty doughnut but people like my husband, who can never imagine correctly how shit will turn out, will flounder here. Predictably my husband’s creation was overly sweet mish mosh of meh, mine was good but not anything I am desperate to sample again. They have several preselected combos for you and that is what I suggest starting with unless you have a good grasp on what works.
You start with the same basic doughnut fresh from the fryer. The glazes are sugary and often neon colored to drive the «fun» point home, this does nada for me (in fact that kind of shit turns me off). You watch them coat your doughnut in one of those 19 different glazes and then they cover in any toppings of your choice ranging from bacon and sea salt to things such as mini marshmallows, graham bits and chocolate chips. You would assume this means explosions of flavor but it was a bit artificial for my taste buds. You also miss out on that crunch that a good donut has underneath the toppings, it is more of a melty squishy thing. If you like that, then here ya go.
If all things go right here it is good enough. If the oil temp is off or they do not do things right then Mark S is right, it is a total soggy disaster. The flavors look so bold but the taste doesn’t live up to it. I know I seem bitchy. I am a bit. I was über excited to taste these and I was really hoping for spectacular. They were good for what they are but I don’t think they’re for me.
Kudos on a friendly helpful staff though.
