Dr. Alan Rapoport’s father established the business in the 1950s. After graduating from college in 1986, Dr. Alan Rapoport joined his father in his practice. When his father decided to retire 15 years ago, Dr. Alan Rapoport took over the practice and has been successful ever since.

Dr. Rapoport is a graduate of Tulane University with a biology degree. He graduated from the New England College of optometry in 1986. He has been in practice for 27 years. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and serves on the Board of the Mass Society of Optometrists.

As a solo practitioner, he has expanded the office and grew the patient base. In 2011, celebrating his 25th year in practice, he doubled the size of the office in Canton Center and opened a second office in Canton, located at 1032 Turnpike St. This location is by appointment only.

My family always receives excellent attentive care from Dr. Rapoport’s office. They also have great use of technology– I can make an appt online anytime and then the day before receive an automated reminder. I wish all doctor appointment processes were this quick, easy and helpful!
Dr Rapoport really cares about his patients and their vision! As an example, I have a difficult contact lens prescription and had been wearing the same two brands (a different brand for each eye, prescribed by a retired dr.) for 15 years, so I was reluctant to change. Dr. Rapoport fitted me for new lenses and they are much more comfortable and convenient.
He also fitted my dad for his first glasses ever.

I am petite and need smaller than average frames. Until my recent consultation with Dr. Rapoport, no one in over 30 years took the time to explain the optics and the importance of my eye being centered in the lens. Now, I have a new pair of glasses that flatter my face and fit me properly, and I’ve gotten new compliments every day since I picked up my new glasses. Thank you!

BEST EYE DOCTOR in the metro area, definitely worth driving far away to see him. I recently crossed the threshold of needing transitional glasses. I had a history of astigmatism and nearsightedness. Always hated my glasses from everywhere I went. It turned out I really didn’t have astigmatism at all and it only took him a few minutes during the eye exam to know that. Dr Rapoport seemed very knowledgeable and experienced, and his staff was super friendly and nice (and so was he). First time wearing transitionals and I love them so much I wear them all the time. He was patient with me taking a long time choosing my frames and I totally LOVE the one he recommended. Even though I don’t live close by to his office, his outstanding care is worth driving far to. I STRONGLY STRONGLY recommend him.

Dr. Rapoport took my husband and I in at the last minute last week. That was great in and of itself, but he was also friendly. Our exams were quick but thorough. The lobby and glasses displays looked like they were recently remodeled. All was clean and pleasant. If we need another eye exam when we’re in the area we’d definitely return.

What a great experience. Dr. Rapoport was very friendly, thorough, and answered all of my questions. We went through the test, and he explained everything along the way. He helped me pick out frames, and they look great.

I absolutely loved my eye exam with Dr. Rapoport. He seemed to do a very thorough examination and I thought it was great that he was very honest and told me that my current prescription was adequate and that I did not need new lenses. While he offered new frames, if I wanted them, he was not aggressive in trying to make a sale. I also really liked that he was playing hip hop during my exam. Word, Dr.
