We specialize in Down Home Cooking. Our Fried Chicken is marinated in our own specialty marinade, Breaded in our own Custom Created Breading and Fried to Order. Real Mashed potatoes and Peppered Cream Gravy. BBQ’d Baked Beans and Our own Original Cole Slaw served with a slab of Sweet Corn Bread.

History

Established in 2014.

Canon City Colorado needed a place for the community to get a fresh and extremely delicious fried Chicken Meal, so we created ChickenLipps.

A Former Truck Driver who moved to Canon City recently and was frustrated that there was not any Good Fried Chicken available, so he called his buddy in Missouri that had over 35 years of experience in Food Service and asked if he’d be interested in opening a Chicken Place.

Had a urge for my Chicken Lips fried chicken. So went down to the store, I got out of my car, walked up to the door and they were gone I mean gone store closed permanently nothing but a couple tables and chairs. Sad day for Canyon city. Chicken lips fried chicken was actually very good.

The food was prompt, at least. Though the chicken was bland at best and kind of soggy. The gravy was disgusting. The mashed potatoes and Cornbread was Cold. I just can’t recommend anyone eat here.

Great fried chicken! I rarely have it so it’s a real treat and even better at this place. If you are in a rush, be sure to order ahead to go – they cook to order.

Excellent fried chicken made to order. That’s why it takes ten minutes or so. The mashed potatoes, slaw, and cornbread are made on site from scratch.

Oh! The price is reasonable too! This is the place for good fried chicken dinner.

Great fried chicken. We ordered a meal to take on a picnic, and we were provided utensils, plates, and napkins. The chicken stayed crispy and hot, plus the mashed potatoes and bbq beans just completed our picnic lunch. Highly recommended.

Thank you, RC, for the delicious fresh to order fried chicken, delicious mashed potatoes, coleslaw, baked beans and cornbread! My Mom, Dad, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Our bellies are full, the remaining chicken boxed, and we’re on our drive back to Colorado Springs. If I am ever back to the Royal Gorge, I’ll be back for more fresh fried chicken!

This was some VERY good fried chicken! Lightly seasoned batter, moist & juicy chicken inside. The perfect meal to pick up for a picnic by the river, at your campsite, or in your hotel room. Honest to goodness real cornbread along with your choice of sides. Hand cut fries, baked beans, &coleslaw (saw that it being made fresh by the owner) were just a couple of the options.
Open for only 5 months, we hope that they will be successful! Give them a try!

Chicken is awesome. Service super slow. Sides not spectacular. If you call it in ahead of time and just get the chicken it’s great chicken. Warm, crunchy and moist.
