I would first like to say that I have ordered fish and coral from many places and i live in Tennessee. I would highly recommend
for any reef purchase. They are very understanding and attentive to your needs. They treat you like you are important to them. Vivids customer service is second to none and they are more than fair to you if you have any issues. Thank you to Dave and especially James for taking care of me and my reef. You have a customer for life. Keep up the good work and keep the youtube videos coming, thanks again.

The only thing I purchase from this shop is my saltwater and RODI. I always get fast and friendly service.

Drove all the way out here to check out this spot and it didn’t disappoint tanks were clean corals were bright and colorful salt water stuff is on the pricy side but that’s just the nature of the beast … I like that they had some of the easy corals separated for the beginners I think it was around 20 $ a pop so thats not bad .they had fish inverts and supplys but lots or corals. Ended up grabbing some base rock to throw in my tank was a pretty good trip :)

Note: I did NOT buy a single thing here, and am NOT a fish guy. Traveled with a friend. However, the employees, individually, over time all approached me to see if I had questions, took time to point out some interesting facts about the coral. The selection is huge, and at the point of my friends experiences, the prices are extremely reasonable, and the selections is HUGE.

These guys know their shit! Amazing selection, and they stand behind their livestock and products. Highly recommend.

I used to love coming to Vivid on the weekly basis. I would go in for fresh water, and walk out with a couple of frags, frozen foods, and a fish occasionally.

The lack of help I get whenever I walk in now is worst than Fry’s on Canoga Ave. Don’t ask them to check your water parameters unless you want the look. Even the owner, Dave. Don’t try and get your water parameters checked here. I would understand if I weren’t buying anything (just going to get free water testing), but I ALWAYS buy something whether I need it or not. I don’t think I will be coming to the store again.

Very few parking spots out front, maybe four? One is usually occupied by their own vehicle. Nice tanks, usually pretty clean when I visit. Very nice selection of coral frags! I don’t buy too much lately because my salt water tank at work is pretty full. The owner, Dave, is helpful and nice whenever he’s around. Some of their crew have been around for a while so it’s nice to see a familiar face when you walk in. Their internet prices are usually less, but if you pick up in the store, it’s a hassle to get the difference back in the price. They have to charge you the store price and then give you s refund for the difference later… At least that’s what they did before… It may have changed by now. They also started carrying dog and cat food to bring in a variety of customers. Strange… It’s such a small store…

Hands down the best store ever! I will never go to another Fish store again!

I bought a used 200 gallon Lee Mar Starfire glass reef tank off of Craigslist. I came by Vivid to get some advice on how to convert the plumbing of this salt water setup into a slow moving current fresh water Discus tank, the guys at Vivid were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They showed me how to do my plumbing, what parts to buy, and most importantly they were honest! They didn’t try to sell me stuff I didn’t need. I even compared their prices with Amazon and other online stores, and hard to believe but Vivid was even cheaper! I don’t usually write reviews but I’m very thankful to these guys for pointing me in the right direction. Truly appreciate it.

Vivid aquariums is a must when I’m visiting Los Angeles or need saltwater fish online. I have been to the store around 10 times. Each time I’ve found the store to be very clean, the corals to be amazing and the customer service to be exceptional. I highly recommend a visit.

This place is amazing! Even though I just went there for water and to check out their photosynthetic gorgonias, I left with some macro algae (chatoe), water, and knowledge regarding my tank. I live in LA and I am glad I made a trip out. If you’re looking for deals on frags, then this is the place to visit!

This is by far the best place in LA to buy coral and fish. I bought my tank from Coral Supply and he almost ruined my tank. Thank god for Jesus! He is the most qualified specialist around. I’m just learning about this hobby and he has directed me correctly every time. James who works there is very nice as well. He is a specialist on lighting and went above and beyond in helping me. They quarantine their fish and you are most likely to get a healthy fish. Most places in the valley bring in the fish and sell it as is. Only use them and don’t let anyone touch you’re tank. Every fish guy claims to know everything, but Jesus and Vivid truly do.
If you are not using Jesus, you should definitely have him look at your tank. He is the hardest worker and most knowledgeable guy in this business and an expert on coral and getting your water conditions perfect

Awesome customer service… always willing to help. I’ve never been to the store but dealt with them on some phone orders and they went above and beyond to get me the products that I needed. Also when the time came for a warranty repair on an item they were very helpful and got me what I needed very quick. Your customer service has earned you a customer for life… I’m thinking of dropping by to the store soon.

Best store for any hobbyist.
They have a wide variety of saltwater fish, corals, and inverts.
The store is fairly big and they also sell online.
By far the best salt water fish store Ive been too.
Prices are fair.

The staff (every one of them!) really knows their stuff. Setting up and maintaining a saltwater aquarium is a real challenge, and we’ve received countless helpful tips. They’ve never let us down.
The prices are affordable, and even Dave the owner takes the time to answer questions and make sure that we feel welcome.
They don’t just push products, either. When they recommend something, they always tell you why each item is beneficial, and they explain its function.
No matter how many questions we pester them with, they are patient and always take the time to teach us. They treat customers like friends.
Could not recommend this establishment more. My husband loves this place and their marine life is second to none.

Today was my third time to this store. It’s worth the trip to the Valley and I hate the Valley.
The first two times I was there they gave helpful advice about getting my new reef tank set up and cycled, even though I hadn’t purchased it there.
These guys are much more helpful than most of the shops I frequent.
Once it was time to select the first few corals and fish you bet I went back there to purchase them. Their prices are very competitive and live goods healthy. Oh and of course more good advice on the first few choices. No hard up sell but nice stuff I can handle to start.
James even closely inspected each piece of coral to make sure there was no aptsia (reef tank herpes) without being asked.
My daughter and I were treated with respect and courtesy. It’s hard for me to imagine any of the staff acting in the manner that woman Blu with the bad review described.
The only bad thing I could say about them is its in the Valley but I already said that.
Their website is also awesome. Its easily navigated and very informative as well.

This fish store had come highly regarded over the years from some really experienced reefers. I was very excited to check out the store in person.
The store is large and has a wide variety of coral. I was surprised at how little inventory they had. The one main negative was the customer service. There were 5 – 7 guys working in various tanks, talking coral but did not have the time to ask if I needed help. I could not tell who worked their, and since I was never approached in the half hour I was there, I left.
Sad experience and really over priced. I have been a reefer for over a decade and was disheartened by the experience I had.

Nothing I like more than to see a CLEAN and ORGANIZED fish store. After visiting a few in the area this is by far the most spacious, clean and well taken care of tropical fish store around.
Pretty decent selection of fish. Enormous selection of corals. Fair pricing. Friendly staff. Love the organization and labeling. Definitely helpful and less chaotic to look around than your typical fish store. I will, as any reefer, will be back again and again.

I went there a weeks ago to go pick up some fish and corals for my boyfriend as a surprise for his nano tank.
The staff there is so rude. I felt like I was being undress by their eyes.
I was wearing a low cut top and a skirt. I could hear them making motor boating noises from the other isles. I saw a reflection from one of the aquarium, one of their employee was making a rude gesture behind my back. I quick turn around and he acted like nothing happen.
I quickly stormed out only to hear someone said mumble «those titties ain’t coming back» followed by laughter.
Never in my life I felt so violated in every way possible.
The bright side is they do have nice corals. So all you single out there, this is the place to be at if you wanna get harass. With a laughter of course.
Update. I just got a message from the owner himself:

I’m so appalled that he even suggested that this is a conspiracy from his competitors and he even threaten to flag me with Unilocal.
I message him back alright and told him that his staff is a reflect of his morals and how he conduct businesses. Plus I told him to f himself.
I also stated that there is no apology or compensation that he can ever offer me to correct what happen at his place of business. And that I will never ever step foot at his place of business or affiliation.
I’m just an average girl, my main reviews are just restaurant and eyelash places. As you all can see from my past reviews.
I’m super super mad. It boils my blood that people would go to this extent to accuse a victim here. What a world we live in today. All I know is that my world would of been better if I never went to vivid aquarium.
