Tassio Temperature Control

On October 9, 2015 when the temperatures were in the 100’s our air conditioner decided to stop cooling. I called Tassio and spoke with Dana. She could tell I was upset and she was kind and reassuring, telling me that they would get a tech out that day. Since it was already 3:00 I was hesitant but she put me on hold, called Jake and Jake, who does not even live close to our home told her he would be out in an hour. In one hour he was at our front door ready to take a look at the air conditioner. He fixed it in no time at all and was caring, professional and assured us that we were his top priority because it was entirely too hot not to have air. What a group of fabulous individuals. I would give this company more stars but 5 is all we are allowed. So to Dana and Jake… our sincere thank you for making our weekend fabulous and to Bill Tassio… you have a great crew.

We went to Tassio for a bid on a full system install because of their positive reviews. We chose them from among other bids because of their attention to detail and because they did not want to cut corners. We wanted it to be by the book, and they were true professionals, scheduling and coordinating vendors and inspections. We’re very pleased, and they continue to answer any questions we’ve had about how to use our system. Thanks to Jim, Nathan, Steven, and Kyle!

We just had Tassio install an HVAC system from the ground up in our 1924 house, including removing wall heaters, adding ductwork, and putting a package unit on the roof. Everyone we worked with was great. Jim, who sold us the system, gave us a lot of information about what they would be doing and how they would be doing it. We had a lot of questions, and he was always happy to answer them. Nathan helped us design the system and decide where we’d put the registers. We had a special case for our living room because of a barrel ceiling, so we ended up putting registers on the floor there. Some of the other companies we’d talked to seemed annoyed at this request because it would definitely increase the complexity of the install, but Nathan and Jim seemed to understand how important it was to us and were totally willing to accommodate us regardless of the difficulty of that request. They were also able to get started on the job soon after we decided to go for it, which was wonderful, because it is August and we wanted to get A/​C ASAP.
We have very small attic and crawl spaces, and already had blown-​in insulation in the attic and batts under the floors, so I know it was not easy getting everything set up, but the guys who did the install (Sergio, Steven, and Kyle… I think there may have been one or two others here and there but I don’t remember their names) were courteous and professional and got the job done. We bought the brand new Ecobee3 thermostat, and Andy hooked it up for us in a matter of minutes. It took 4 days total to do the whole install, which I think was a good speed for the amount of work that needed to be done.
Another thing I really liked was that Nathan and Jim were there on the first day of the install, and Jim or Bill stopped by at some point each day to make sure everything was going well. A lot of times with home improvement, there seems to be a disconnect between the initial sales meetings and the work being done. We’ve definitely had some bad experiences with that type of thing happening in the past, so I was very pleased that in this case, everyone was communicating and making sure things were getting done according to plan.
Overall, I’m very happy with Tassio and would certainly recommend them to anyone who needs an HVAC contractor.

The job: I had them replace my home’s Trane split system with a new one. This was because I had a broken a/​c and it was too old to be worth repairing (over 25yrs old). And we figured it’s smartest to also update the heating unit at the same time so the entire system is brand new and works together well.
Price: Very fair, and the best value. There were higher quotes, and there were cheaper quotes. The cheaper quotes were clearly unprofessional people, or people that were being sneaky and creeping up their price through nickel-​and-​diming tactics which made me extremely uncomfortable. I was comfortable the Tassio quoting process and Jim (the sales guy).
Communication: Honest and clear communication. When I met the company’s sales guy, Jim, for the proposal I felt comfortable with changing my A/​C system. He was very attentive to answering all my questions and concerns. I also requested a specific thermostat I wanted (Nest) which they agreed to do and I love the thermostat.

Their work: the crew is very professional, clean cut, knowledgeable, friendly, and had their ducks lined up in a row start to finish. They got the job done within a day, very efficiently, and did a clean job.
The result: It’s been two weeks and the a/​c seems to be doing a great job so far.
Overall: A job well done. I am recommending them to everybody I know as a happy customer.

Made a call to Tassio on Monday morning to schedule for an HVAC /​condensation line leak that we have been having at our home. The receptionist was very polite and thorough in taking our information down. Same day inspection scheduled for 11am-​1pm. Was surprised (and pleased) to hear that the technician (Andy) would be coming early due to a cancellation. Andy was a true professional. He took the time to listen to our concerns, inspect the problem areas with us (that we observed) and of course completed his own due diligence and found the various issues we have been having with our HVAC unit.
Must have been less than a ½ hour before Andy was able to find the problems, provided us with a detailed quote on the repairs, and most importantly, provided my wife and I with a detailed explanation of the problems we were having. He was a true gentlemen to the very end. I’m very pleased to have found this company and will gladly be relying on their services for routine maintenance along with referrals to friends and family members. This company is the real deal!!!

Tassio installed a new furnace & AC system in my house a few weeks ago. I was very pleased with the service provided by this company. I was very impressed with the manner in which the job was approached from the start, especially the professionalism shown by Jim Berry on his presentation and attention to detail. I was also very satisfied with the work performed by Nathan and his crew. Hope that this system will remain reliable for years to come and Tassio will be there for me if needed.

First time user. Semi annual system inspection. Andy and Jake were professional, prompt and friendly. Former service provider retired and Tassio was recommended. I will use them going forward.

Tassio replaced our Heating and Air Conditioning unit. Jim consulted with us, advised us of our options, then gave us a quote, we came up with something that was in our budget. The installers turned up when they said they would be here and cleaned up after themselves every day. The equipment does what it’s supposed to — keeps the house warm when it’s cold outside and keeps it cold when it’s warm outside. It was a great experience.

The Tassio team replaced my entire system including duct work with a state of the art system almost a year ago and its run flawlessly. (We love it) They came today to performed preventive maintenance and Andy and his apprentice were both on time and performed a check list of 50 plus checks… This company is AWESOME and delivers WORLD CLASS SERVICE

Tassio recently replaced an aging A/​C compressor, fan and furnace at our home in Bell Canyon. We are EXTREMELY happy with their service and their equipment. Everything was performed on time and exactly as promised. Dealing with their sales rep Jim Berry was a pleasure, he was extremely efficient and professional, as were their installers. They are a class act in every respect. Highly recommended.

My normal HVAC contractor was out of town, so I called Tassio when my heater decided it «sometimes» wanted to blow hot air. The woman who scheduled the appointment said the service/​diagnostic charge was $ 65 and that it would be waived if there were any repairs that needed to be done. Sounded good to me!
Andy was the repair tech and seemed friendly and knowledgeable enough. I explained the situation and I told him I had an older unit, but it’s never given me a ton of problems. He went on the roof, checked it out, came back to tell me what awful condition it was in and that I’d probably need a whole new unit soon but he thought the problem was a loose wire that he fixed (to the tune of $ 126 that took him all of a few mins to fix) Now, mind you, I don’t mind paying for things if they are 1.) Done correctly and 2.) Actually FIX the problem. I cheerfully paid him for the service and went on with my day.
I wake up the following morning and guess what? It’s blowing cool air again. I understand these types of things happen when trying to diagnose a machine that can’t tell you why it’s malfunctioning but when he came back the 2^nd time he still couldn’t figure out what was wrong!!! (I also had Tassio’s salesman Jim out for an estimate on a new unit, at the same time)
At that point, I lost faith that they knew what they were doing so I called my normal contractor so that he would at least know what Andy had checked so if he needed to come out he’d know what was going on. At this point I could tell Andy was a bit annoyed that I had him speak to my contractor but come on… he is a repair tech and had no other ideas of what could be going on! He left pretty quickly after that.
The next day it was still blowing cool air (surprise, surprise) when funny enough I got a call from Jim the salesman asking how things were going. I told him that it was still blowing cool air and that I was upset with the whole experience. He apologized and said he’d «pass on the info» but I never got a call from Andy or the owner to make things right. I would have gladly paid for the service call but to pay for him to fix one wire at the tune of $ 126 and not even have a working system?!? Not okay!!! Very disappointing and I definitely wouldn’t recommend them.

This is my second service call with Tassio. I had a very positive experience with Tassio the first time they came to inspect my system a few years back. I scheduled an appointment for Saturday morning and Andy was there right on time to handle my service call. Andy immediately went to work on the problem and within minutes he knew what was wrong with my system. I couldn’t have asked for a better outcome. I would highly recommend Tassio to anyone needing a reliable HVAC service company. This company does great work!!!

When it comes to Heating and Air service, it is important to find good people who know what they are going and will do honest, good work. This company does this to the extreme! They always show up on time, are professional, and they don’t try to upsell you at all. If you are looking for a trusted, reliable, and professional HVAC service company, look no further!

Tassio is the best air conditioning company I have ever dealt with. I called with an air conditioning problem and they were there within an hour. Andy was very professional, nice and informative. After he fixed our issue, he made sure everything was clean and if we had any questions. I would highly recommend Tassio Temperature Control. Ask for Jim Berry and he would be happy to help.

EXTREMELY happy with this company. We called Sunday morning and spoke with Bill, the owner who told us that they were swamped but someone could come out first thing Monday at 7 am. He was pleseant and attentive to our issue. Andy got to our house at 7 am and found and fixed the problem (which ended up being a cheaper replacement than a brand new motor) and was outta there by 7:30 am. I loved his honesty, courtesy and professionalism. We will be using them for all future hvac needs.

Bill Tassio is the real deal. Good honest man and runs a great company. Came out to follow up on our system. I will refer him !

Hire these guys! That’s the short of it. Here’s the long of it… A summer in the San Fernando Valley WITHOUT a/​c! …Don’t try this at home… LOL. Our 15 year old cooling coil was completely rusted and the freon was leaking from the refrigerant lines. The A/​C was not blowing cold air at all… I had two other companies come out to take a look. Both told me that the system needed to be completely replaced (the condenser, furnace, and cooling coil.) The problem was, our attic was very small and the existing unit was not really put in to code/​not enough room around it so both companies said there was no way to get a new unit into the attic (said they don’t make them that small anymore) and they both advised putting a package unit on the roof. UG. Not happy about that, but figuring that was the only option, I tried to hire both of these companies to do the work. But when I called them back to schedule installment, after repeated attempts, they NEVER returned my calls!
After seeing an add for TASSIO, I searched their reviews on Angie’s List (great) and decided to invite them out for a consultation. WOW. Jim — an expert heating/​air guy and their salesman spent about 2 hours with us looking everything over and said that the other companies probably didn’t want the work because it was a pretty difficult job. And he definitely did NOT recommend a package unit for the roof. He located a furnace/​coil that was the same size as the one up our attic by Day & Night and said they could get it up there. Over the next two days, after we agreed to the work, Jim brought his top foreman (Nathan is a gem) as well as the owner of the company, Bill Tassio, out to our house to verify the plans and discuss exactly how they would do this difficult work. They told us the work would take 3 days and they’d have to cut a hole in the bathroom ceiling to access the new unit. End result? NO hole in the ceiling :), 3 days of work by their top crew (Sergio and Mario) — they were just a pleasure to have in the house, a completely clean install, and all work done exactly as agreed upon at a completely fair price. We got a new 4 ton a/​c and heating system, completely upgraded duct work (old ducts were too small and air flow was bad), all new copper refrigerant lines and the best customer service EVER. Highly recommend. These guys are total pros and they really care about doing a great job for their clients. 11÷16÷15 EDITED to add: About 10 months later our other unit on the other side of the house failed and, as it was def time to replace it, again Tassio did an EXCELLENT, clean and perfect job. In just one day. We have had them out to check and service both units since, and will not ever need to call another company. Still extremely happy :)

Background: My a/​c was only 2.5 yrs old, plumbing sprung a leak cause previous installers didnt replace a section of pvc which was already not glued from before. Called Tassio after hours and received a call from Bill the owner from his home. Explained the issue and he put me at the front of his appointments for the next day. Assured me they would be here by 8:15, got a call at 7:45 and guy was at the door.
Pros: No fuss, checked out the exact issue, worked towards fruition keeping me in the loop the entire time, found additional issue which was clogging the line; recommended the proper way to have the piping done and explained the extraordinary costs involved (condo unit, 2 upper units share the same exit pipe for condensation) Wore booties without me asking him.
Cons: None that I found, the price was really reasonable as well.
