Ingenium Charter Middle School

Another car blocking my driveway today! When I asked the lady not to do it she got snotty with me which is the usual response I get from the parents that continue to do this! One time my husband asked a man not to block our driveway and he threatened violence even with his small child in the car. This has gotten out of control and needs to change! The teachers use our street as a parking lot so there is nowhere for the parents to park when they pick up their kids, I guess this is why they block all the driveways and leave their cars! This happens all the time and the congestion in the neighborhood is horrible. This was never a problem before Ingenium Charter moved in.

there are not enough stars to tell you how i feel about this school, the teacher really care, the kids love to go to school. the education that is being offered is out of the world. there isnt enough room to name all the wonderful people that make this place the joy that it is… mrs. wolfe (mrs p), mr. graham, mrs pilkington, mrs, yu… just to name a few… you have helped me shape my little one to be someone wonderful for the future…

This school is great and what makes this school great is the Principal Ms. Price and Ms. Garfield who
are leading this school to awesome places. The Principal and VP work very hard for the children at this school. Also, Ms. Kumar and Ms. Nan are wonderful and always in the office to help. They all do an exceptional job at educating our kids and they genuinely care about the children! My family has went to other schools and hands down Ingenium is the best. The Educational standards are above other schools. The parking in the morning is a bit rough but in comparison to other schools where Principal and teachers suck and don’t care about the students at all, this a small sacrifice. We moved and needed to switch our daughter to a different school and our new school is terrible. We miss the staff support and strong parent interaction and support we had at Ingenium. Ingenium is a wonderful school.

Great school! My daughter feels very safe and comfortable here. The kids really excel academically. I would recommend it to anyone!

Amazing group of teachers!!! They go above and beyond. My daughters love Ingenium!

Both my daughters are attending this school because there is so much value that the teachers bring here.
My oldest had to leave for a while but now that she’s back I literally have peace of mind that she is getting the kind of education that kids should get.
The fact that it’s a charter school is not what gets me excited since many charters use that as their reason to be a mediocre staff. Ingenium staff is focused and very helpful with the parents.
During meet the teachers at the start of school, the teachers made sure she they met every parent and were very sweet with my kids.
They’re supposedly turning private next year or are going to start charging but it’s worth it for a world class team like the ones out there in Canoga Park. (Can I go back to school to? jk)

My Son has been attending Ingenium for ²¹⁄₂ Years. The teachers has helped him grow into a responsible independent leader. My son loves all his teachers and has never been more excited to go to school every day.
The thing I love most is that this school keeps art and creativity alive in our children.

This school is expanding into a middle school! Yay!
My oldest child just finished sixth grade, and I was worried about where to send her. Before coming to ICS, she used to get stomachaches every night and didn’t want to go to school. Now, she absolutely loves school, and she wakes me up in the morning to get her to school on time.
Now not only do my two younger elementary kids have a way to continue to stay in this very innovative model, but that means their older sibling can attend too!
Better yet, the middle school grades will provide each student with a tablet computer. Technology is so important and I’m happy to know that kids in the community will have access. It’s so important for college and for career.
Best yet, they have a full time arts teacher at the elementary school and an arts elective at the middle school. There are also cool sports programs planned for after school.
All in all, this is a great school!

This school stinks. It is a very dangerous school. Many parents feel the same way due to that they allow middle school kids to be with Ingenuim kids. Principal done nothing about this. Teacher are good.

Last year my son’s traditional, conventional, and 100% counter-​productive school told him that he would not be able to pass 4^th grade and to expect to be held back. They had several reasons for why they thought Max had «issues». I was never convinced, and even took research into the school to prove to them that BOYS LEARN DIFFERENTLY! The day I pulled up to Max’s school to drop him off, and he looked at me with tears in his eyes and said «everyday I come here I want to die» –inspired an IMMEDIATE and mad search for a school that thinks «outside the Box». I found that school in «Ingenium» (a new Charter School). I can’t say enough about this school, their teachers, and their philosophy. We did a not so common thing, and switched Max’s school mid-​year (less than 1 week after that dreaded morning in front of his old school!). They had broken him down so badly, that he was losing his academic enthusiasm and self-​confidence. Yesterday, when I asked his teacher what he should work on over the summer to get him ready for 5^th grade, she said «nothing, he is right where he needs to be». The look on his face when she said that was one of the most amazing moments I can place in my memory to date. With the right teacher and the right learning philosophy, Max was able to excel and even advance in some areas, and most of all.. . be proud of himself.
As an Educator, I CANNOT tell you enough how important these early learning years are to children. Ingenium is OTB, but on steroids for older kids! Our kids only have us (their parents) to advocate for them. When they push your children to read early (too early for sure!!) be conscious of what the damage is when they are pushed too hard to do something their brain is not wired to do. When they break them down for not accomplishing the standards that are completely unrealistic and self-​serving, stick up for them!!. Their entire outlook on learning starts NOW! Pick your preschool and elementary school wisely! They are as important as college! It sets the foundation for their learning potential, not just academically, but emotionally and mentally! Okay, stepping down from my soapbox now.. .
