bobby williams is a thieving liar. they stole my tools, televisions and ransacked all of my families clothing. i’ll see your ass in court bobby williams!!! anyone else want in on this lawsuit?

I’ve moved so many times in the last couple of years, and this was the worst one ever. They came unprepared. They don’t disassemble the furniture and when they ruin it they tell you it is your problem that you have a cheap furniture from Ikea. They are so rude and Bobby is the worst with customer service. Never ever deal with this company because LA is full of other companies that are cheaper and much better.

I used this company for packing and moving services. To be fair, their moving service was reasonable — they were prompt and courteous. I paid for the deluxe flat rate so I was not prey to hidden charges, but indirectly I lost out because they skimped in packing which resulted in many damaged items. Examples include wrapping breakable items together in stacks– china soup bowls, glass salad plates, glass cups — bundling them together in 1 or 2 wraps of packing paper and then tightly wedging the whole mess together with little packing paper around them so they bang together in transit and shatter. Glass stemware was slotted upright into crude slots made out of packing paper with almost no protection at the bottom of the box and other items like tupperware were loosely tossed on top. Small items like spice containers were wedged into decorative glass vases which were then strewn together without any packing paper at all among candles and tupperware. All told, I lost the majority of my sets of soup bowls, salad plates, wine glasses, and also a good portion of my drinking glasses. I also now own a chipped decorative vase and a broken decorative bowl that I glued back together. I even had a large number of my own packing boxes which I let them use, so it it is not as if I was gouging them on their flat rate. I would have packed myself if not for a time crunch and a bad back. I have packed myself 5 times before and had others pack me 3 times and this level of damage greatly surpasses all my other moves combined. Glassware and plates which have survived moving back and forth across the country 3 times did not survive a 50 mile trip with Hollywood Moving.

I called the company to schedule an appointment, and asked about their negative reviews on Unilocal.I specifically asked what «hidden charges» the reviewers referenced and the Owner told me it was for extra time that they needed. What he didn’t tell me was that they charge for all the materials they use, including $ 4 for a roll of tape, $ 25 for a mattress bag, $ 50 for a roll of shrink wrap, etc. I ended up paying $ 80 for supplies that they used which should have been disclosed when I asked about it.
The movers were courteous, but could have been more professional. We were moving out of a townhouse complex, and they were playing music outside the unit under the neighbors window, and inside the unit while they were moving. They could have at least asked if this was ok.
My biggest problem with this service is the lack of protection they provided inside the unit, and to our furniture. We spent the entire next day patching and painting holes in the walls, handrails along the stairs, front door. They did not protect the wood floor, and there were major scratches in the floor. Aside from the damage they caused inside the unit, our furniture was also damaged. We now have 7 dents in our refrigerator door, a few dents in our dryer, and scratches in a wood dresser. With all the damage caused, it stings to pay them $ 850.
The movers also try to pressure you to fill out the Angie’s List review form before they leave. I suspect this is why they have good reviews, because they are filled out prior to customer noticing the damage that was caused.

900.00 bobby is the worst at any type of customer service I was moving to a 2 bedroom condo with no living room or dinning room set I am so upset and disgusted I hope they investigate this company!

Worst movers I have ever hired. Paid $ 495 for 3 guys 5 hrs thru Angie’s List. Ended up having to pay an additional $ 515 (total $ 1010) to move a studio apt 50 miles. Damaged furniture, damaged hardwood floors, damaged walls. Moving is stressful enough. You don’t need to use a company that doesn’t care about your stuff and doing a good job.

They were great! They were subcontracted for my government move by Bluechip and they came to pack me! They brought all the materials and took the time and care to pack everything correctly. Nothing was too big of an issue and when they accidentally packed some of my hanging clothes I still needed they opened the boxes until I found the correct clothing. They kept apologizing and it was my fault as I forgot to remind them. They cleaned up their mess from the paper and tape and made sure there was a good inventory for the truck the following day. All around excellent service!

I too had a great experience with Hollywood Moving & Storage. Found them first on Angies List and also checked their reviews on Unilocal.We moved from a 3 BR single family home about 1 mile from our current home. Bobby Williams came in advance and provided an estimate. In the end, we ended up going with an hourly pricing vs. a fixed price, as we moved a lot of the boxes and household goods on our own to help save money. We bought the Angies List coupon for $ 495 and then we did add 1 more guy, which was worth the additional expense. Made the move go much faster. Chris Welch and the guys were awesome! They worked really hard & quickly and it was a super hot day too — I had to keep after then to keep drinking water. They were very customer service oriented, pleasant, friendly and paid close attention to detail. They took very good care of our belongings. It took about 3.5 hours to load and about 2 to unload and we were completely amazed they got the job done that fast, as we had a lot of stuff. The only minor complaint I had was they showed up about an hour late, so I could not give them 5 stars for punctuality. Thank you all so much for making such a tough day much less stressful!

Without a doubt, I would highly recommend Hollywood Moving & Storage to all my family, friends and you! I couldn’t have asked for a better moving crew/​company or overall experience. These guys are great!
I scheduled this move TWO days before & still was not completely aware of what time I would be available due to other family obligations. Bobby was so patient & helpful with booking the move. He really worked around my chaotic schedule & made me feel at ease.
The day of the move, I received a reminder phone call from Landon the guys got there right on schedule! Landon & Chris arrived with a HUGE truck. They could have moved an entire city if they needed to (okay, maybe I’m being a little dramatic).
Landon & Chris are energetic, friendly, FAST & have great work ethics!
I was concerned about a large filing cabinet which was completely filled with files because I didn’t have the time to empty it prior to the move date. I let them know it was filled and they were very careful with it, as well as, all of my furniture. They made it look like a piece of cake. They even helped me assemble by bed at the new location.
The new place is on the 2^nd floor with no elevator & the stairs are really narrow. Still they finished the entire move under the estimated time!
Hollywood Moving & Storage are very affordable. I had called several places for quotes, one of which was almost twice the cost! I will never try to move on my own again. These guys did in only a few hours what would have taken us probably an entire weekend to do.

Do NOT hire Hollywood Moving & Storage. This business is a sham. I had an appointment scheduled through Bobby Williams directly, and not only did they reschedule, but they never showed up.
We scheduled an appointment on Saturday. The movers were to show up between 1−3pm. I received a call saying that their current job was taking longer than expected, so Bobby asked to reschedule for the next day at 8am. His exact words, «We can do tomorrow at 8am. We’ll be on time because you’ll be our first appointment.» The next day 8am comes, no word from Bobby. I left 3 voicemails for him. Not only did he not return any of my calls, but they NEVER showed up. I wish I read these reviews before I picked Hollywood Moving & Storage as our movers. We relied on these guys. What a disappointment. So many moving companies were practically harassing me, trying to get my business. I could have picked anyone else who would have showed up. Luckily, I found a last minute moving company to come out. I have never been so angry. Hollywood Moving & Storage needs to reimburse me for my troubles.

Sooo im adding my comment to the right business who waisted our time! We called these guys they gave us a quote and appointment time and confirmed through Bobby directly, and on the day of the move they did not show up between 1pm-​3pm and did not call us back despite leaving messages regarding the non service and waste of time! Moving is already a tiring process and we lost over 4 hrs of moving time due to this joke of a business. We are still waiting for a reply and answer from this company but for sure no recommendation here! One star only cause we cannot post a review without the star rating!

So im updating my review because the owner finally decided to send me the money they owed me instead of waiting another 7 months for their insurance company to pay me. So for this I’m updating to a 3 star

We had a FANTASTIC experience with these movers and the move!!!
Our move was from North Hollywood to Palm Springs, so I knew the drive time was going to be a big factor with price. I spoke with Bobby, a really nice man, who recommended the most efficient manner of hiring and working for us in order to maximize time and minimize costs.
The day of the move, the movers showed up on time and ready to work! The foreman (?) sat down and explained the contract and the move VERY clearly and thoroughly. There were no surprise costs or fees I did not expect.
The guys were so professional and friendly, and they were efficient and careful with our items. And they were fast!
When they arrived in Palm Springs, it was well over 100 degrees and humid. But this didn’t slow them down much. They unloaded and worked effiiciently to get the job done.
They were also conscious of the time and costs and made sure to work hard and get everything done without going into overtime.
Overall, this was a terrific experience. These movers made our move so smooth and definitely made moving a less traumatic and more enjoyable time for us.
I highly recommend them!

Awful! Absolutely awful! We had refreshments and food ready for our two workers, and even helped carry some of the furniture to and from the truck to be helpful. How were we repaid? TWO stolen watches, a stolen diamond necklace and other sentimental jewelry taken straight from our home. When we called the company, Bobby was of no help and took zero responsibility. Jewelry doesn’t just get up and walk away Bobby. The workers also demanded payment before the job was done saying it was «standard protocol». I think, they just wanted a quick and clean getaway. DO NOT USE!!!

You will see damaged and missing Items below. In addition to these issues there was also the issue of the movers not bringing their tools to disassemble our platform bed. Our tools were used and left behind in the previous residence. In result they were unable to reassemble our bed as stated in the explanation of services. I had to reassemble the bed on my own this resulting me to lose valuable time at work.
After less than an hour of the movers arriving I went down to the moving truck to see where they were and found them smoking and watching a You-​tube video on their phone of the History Channel on the discovery of a dead Mermaid. The movers also showed up 45 min late for their appointment. A moving company was hired to assure the ease of moving on a timely schedule which was not the case.
I contacted Hollywood Moving (Bobby) within Days after the move to bring these issues to his attention. He said he would inquire and call me back. I did not hear back from him for well over a week. I then took the initiative to call him. I called him on Saturday August 25^th at 2:19 and he still had no resolution only immediately coming to the defense and not attempting to resolve. His remedy was for us to file a police report.

My boyfriend was kind enough to provide the movers with refreshemnts during the move. The repayment was lost stolen and broken items.

I used this company a couple of years ago to put some stuff in storage. The movers showed up on time, quickly loaded the truck and took my things to storage — it took them less time than was estimated (so cost less than estimated), the guys were friendly and they seemed surprised that this was «all» I had for them to do that day.
I am planning another move soon so my friend called and asked them to call me to arrange it. Not only was the call was promptly returned, either the dispatcher remembered me from last time, or she still had my records. Either way, she asked me «how can we help you move again?» I’m pretty impressed, they must have had hundreds of moves since I used them!
I was going to call some other movers just to get comparison estimates, but based on my previous move with them, the friendly staff and the fact that they remembered me from before, why mess with perfection?
