Hallmark Inns and Resort

The location of this hotel really can’t be beat! And the whole resort has a cozy, quaint feel that added a perfect touch to our winter getaway. The staff were friendly overall.
The only reason we didn’t give 5 stars, is that the spa called to cancel our pre planned treatments only 4 hours before they were scheduled. What? They provided no extra compensation, just an apology. So, we had to search elsewhere for our much-​anticipated massages. And, we never had housekeeping service come to our room… at all. A bit of a disappointment on our vacation!
Be sure to get an oceanfront room — totally worth it! The views are truly incredible. And you’ll never have a better sleep than listening to the sound of the ocean!

Our families stayed here for our beach wedding last year. The hotel itself is great. Service was professional and straight forward. Rooms were amazing with good views. As the bride I scheduled a massage the night before the wedding which was absolutely fabulous and de stressed me, so amazing that they have a spa on site close to the rooms. Then I got to take a bath in the huge jacuzzi tub and relax with wine. All and all it was a great experience and both our parents really had a great stay there. Thanks hallmark! We’ll be back!

Shame on you, Hallmark, for not recycling!
Even worse, you go into my accommodations and take the recycling that I’ve cleaned and stacked neatly on the kitchen counter (across the kitchen from the trash can.)
When I call the front office they confirm that they don’t recycle. When I ask to have it returned so I can take it home to recycle it you say, «it’s *lovely* that you’re so eco-​conscious,» in a patronizing tone.
I say, «lovely? It’s my responsibility to recycle and yours, too!»
Please change your policy – as a business that profits from pristine, natural beauty like the Pacific Coast, wouldn’t you want to help keep it that way by recycling?
This tips the scales for me. I don’t think I’ll be back. I don’t like this policy and didn’t appreciate their attitude.
P. S. They returned my recycling instead of putting it in their trash compactor (as planned) after multiple phone calls to the office. I took it home and recycled it.
(Update for Kirby – when I asked the front desk the general question, «do you recycle here?» (meaning at your resort, not at this particular rental house) the answer I was given by multiple people in your front office was, «no.»
If you do recycle, I think it’s an important thing for your staff to be aware of.
Why wouldn’t you offer recycling at your rental houses if you recycle at your resort? These are likely the accommodations that generate the most recycling since people can cook meals for larger groups and carry in their own food.
Also, it wasn’t quickly. It took hours and at least four different phone calls, because people who said they would call me back did not call back. And, because the process took hours it involved a shift change and having to explain the issue multiple times to multiple people. It pretty much took up a good part of the day.)

Hard to beat the Hallmark Inn, a gem of a hotel in Cannon Beach.
Loved our doggie bag, our room, complete with a view of Haystack Rock, and our bonfire on the beach. (I expect it’s packed and vibing differently in the summer, but I’d stay here again in winter for sure!)

We were very impressed with the rooms and service we received. We booked the room on Hotels Tonight and weren’t able to select a pet friendly room. When we arrived the hotel was fully booked and we weren’t in a pet friendly room. I was totally expecting to be told we were out of luck since we booked on a 3^rd party site. Colleen at the front desk went out of her way to make sure we got a gray room and was among the friendliest hotel staff I have encountered in a long time. The resort is truly pet friendly, not just a place that accepts pets. They gave us a little goody bag for our dog and provide a great area to take your dog out. I would recommend this place to anyone!

My husband surprised me with a birthday weekend getaway! This place was incredible. The staff was incredibly friendly and very professional. So many little perks to this place, I wish we could have stayed longer. Not only were there fresh chocolate chip cookies, but Hallmark Inn went above and beyond for my birthday. I had a cute little bottle with a birthday note inside signed by the general manager. The little perks me all the difference!

My daughter and I came for a long weekend getaway. Just the girls. We had such a good time and the Halmark was the best place to stay! The room was beautiful. I loved the deck, the balcony and the beds were so comfortable. The staff is amazing and the location (right next to Haystack Rock!) just can’t be beat!

This place is bursting with charm! In-​room fireplaces, beautiful views of Haystack rock, free movie and board game rentals, and dog friendly! Our experience with the staff was always pleasant. They have salt water taffy, dog treats, and warm cookies in the lobby in the afternoons. They roaster marshmallows on the beach every Sunday evening during the summer and host many other activities throughout the year. The extra touches earned them the 5^th star for me despite not being a 5 star hotel in the traditional sense. My advice is to opt for a room with a view. It will take your breath away! We loved our short stay here and would absolutely come back to Hallmark if ever in Cannon Beach.

I have stayed here a number of times in the past, and enjoyed my time. So while cruising down 101 I was hoping that I would be able to stay again. I called early on Friday morning hoping to get a room that for my schedule for that evening. They gave me an ocean view room with a Murphy bed. (Btw, they have raised the rates a bit since last I was here) At the time that I made the reservation I asked if I can get early check in since I had been on the road since the previous day and was very tired. The lady making the reservation said that it would be no problem. She said that the room needed to be empty by noon and that I should stop by when I get to town and that they would get right on it. I arrived at 12:15 and the gentleman who took my name said the same, that they previous tenants had left and that they will get right on it. I went for walk and finally called back at 2:30. The woman who took my reservation answered and said that they were still working on my room?!? For two hours? She said that they will call when it’s ready. It’s now 3:15.
If you don’t do early check in say that. I would have continued on my way and now wasted my afternoon waiting. But it’s very poor service to say that you will do something to get a sale on the reservation and then blatantly not follow through.
I question if I will every be back. If I had been made aware that they would not get it before 4:00 then I certainly would have just continued with my trip.

We stayed here in the middle of the week the first week of August. It was nice since there wasn’t an overwhelming crowd. It’s not a 5-​star hotel but it has a spectacular location. We did not get one of the rooms with an ocean view. We stayed in a suite which was located remotely from the hotel grounds but still an easy walk to the beach. We still got to enjoy the Haystack, the beach, the ocean and the spectacular Pacific ocean sunset. The suite had it’s own mini-​kitchen with a small refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, mini-​stove and breakfast table. They also had adequate utensils and dinnerware. They do not serve or sell food however no need to worry since there is such a great choice of restaurants around Cannon beach that are so conveniently located. The suite was clean, the décor was adequately appointed and beds were comfortable. We really enjoyed the fact that we could easily walk to the beach anytime. We were definitely happy with our stay Hallmark Inns and Resort at Cannon Beach. We plan to come back, and maybe reserve a room with a view.

We stayed at the sister resort in Newport and loved it so much, we decided to stay at the Cannon Beach Hallmark on our way up the coast.
We were lucky enough to get a room June 30^th and July 1^st. Although we would have loved to have had a room with a higher floor view as we did in Newport, the view we did have was still spectacular!
The check-​in was smooth and the staff was friendly. The rooms were beautiful, very clean and most comfortable. The bath featured a double shower head. We had a king spa room on the 1^st floor. Getting the luggage to the room from the parking garage was a little bit of a hassle, but no biggie… for sure not a deal breaker. They have tried to make as many accessible pathways as possible, but the resort is older, and built on the bluff, so the upgrades they have made are truly the best that can be done. We were able to get our luggage cart to the room, it just took a little patience and persistence :)
The view of Haystack is amazing! There is not a better view from any other hotel or resort at Cannon Beach. And the rooms, even though on different floors, seemed to all have a pretty spectacular view!
There are several places to eat within walking distance. We found that The Wayfarer and Cannon Beach Hardware & Public House were the best options. Keep in mind that the main store fronts and galleries of Cannon Beach are about a mile away… but certainly within walking distance.
We also booked a couples massage at their on-​property spa… Elements By The Sea. It was spectacular!
Exploring this beach is so relaxing. There are fabulous tide pools at Haystack, and lots of opportunities to fly our kites. The sand is clean and soft on the feet. We had a sunset beach fire both nights of our stay… not to be missed!
This property was everything we had hoped it would be. This is our new favorite Cannon Beach property!

We had the most amazing room and view. We paid the bucks for the sea view room but it was worth the money. We spent a lot of time sitting on our balcony taking in the view of haystack rock. We tried to turn on the AC, they laughed saying they don’t have AC, but that we should open the window. We were there in July and it was unseasonably warm. The front staff was amazing. We had the most amazing massages by Kate!

Service was good, but everything here is so old, definitely needs a serious remodeling. Especially the pool area. Also it was over 85 degrees in the pool room when it was around 70 outside.
Anyway just a lot of little things add up. We arent going to stay here again.

My husband and I came here for our 1 year anniversary. It was a wonderful experience! Our room had a beautiful view of the ocean and haystack rock. It was well appointed with extra blankies and pillows. I always like to sleep with the door open to hear the sound of the ocean, and sometimes I have to move the bed to get closer to the door. This was not the case here, the bed was very close to the three part slider, and was open the whole time we stayed!
At check in the ladies were very sweet! The things I would add/​or change are some flavored teas in the basket, and more than one packet of coffee. I loved the chairs on the back porch they were very comfy for relaxing and viewing the ocean.
Needless to say we will be back! It was lovely!

I can’t say enough great things. The staff was beyond helpful and kind. The rooms were clean and beautiful. Breathtaking views, minutes away from everything. It was perfect. I have no complaints at all. What a wonderful place– I highly recommend!

The hideaway bed in the living room is remarkably comfortable, making the place very spacious and comfortable for even two couples to stay for a few nights!
Ok only downside, the walls are paper thin and the doors slam so hard the whole place shakes and gives each guest a heart attack… then housekeeping seems unaware that checkout is at noon, but they barged in at 10:30 without knocking! Suddenly there was this dude in my room who’d woken me up!

We come to Cannon Beach ever year for my birthday and try a new hotel each time. So far my fav is The Ocean Lodge. My boss stays here exclusively when in CB so I have to say I’m a bit surprised and a little disappointed at Hallmark.
My partner booked this room and thought he was getting 2 queens but what we actually got was a queen Murphy bed studio. That is his error not the hotels but it should have been more obvious to him when booking because this room does not fit 2 overpacked adults, a 2 year old and a dog, at all! We were also placed right next to the walking paths and the lights are on all night so we can’t sleep with the door and curtains open as we like to because it’s too bright. The shower curtain rod was installed too high so the curtain doesn’t stay inside the tub when you shower and the floor gets flooded. Annoying and dangerous.
The grounds are really beautiful and remind me of Hawaii. The view from our room is amazing and the porch is very large. The spa is fantastic Judy knows her stuff! Im looking forward to my second appointment tonight. The pool is really awesome my 2 year old loves all of the choices (4 pools-​1 foot deep and small, large 6ft deep and 2 «hot tubs»).
I would try this place again but certainly not this room :)

My husband and I celebrate a weekend away at the beach. We had the best luck on perfect weather. We made reservations over the phone 2 weeks ahead. The staff was so friendly, both on the phone and also in person. They were so helpful with all the questions I had.
At check in we were greeted with a warm, freshly baked cookie, that won my husband over ;)
Our room was adorable. We had a beautiful view off the balcony, jacuzzi tub, small kitchenette and beautiful outdoor seating.
Located not too far from a great coffee place and within walking distance to smaller café type businesses.
Wonderful stay, we will be making it a yearly event an plan on staying at the Hallmark Inn again :)
