Specialties
Amazing food, lively bar and generous portions. We like to have fun at The Wild Hare! We pride ourselves with the friendliest service in town and enjoy seeing our repeat customers who range from 1 – 99 years of age. We do live music on the weekends and for special occasions. If you are someone that enjoys great food in an environment that is upbeat and fun-stop by for a visit. We have an oversided parking lot ideal for horse trailers, boats and RV’s.
History
Established in 2003.
The Wild Hare Saloon and Café opened it’s doors in Canby on November 21st, 2003 to a packed house! We remodeled the space using distressed barn wood, aged tin and river rock from the neighboring Molalla River. The counter top in the bar area is a concrete slab. There is custom iron work throughout the building that gives it a unique feel. We added a «community table» in 2013 to better accomodate large groups that like to gather here. The table seats 12 comforably and is almost always booked for special occasions. Young kids like to have their picture taken on our rockin’ Wild Hare at the front of the building. We have a spacious patio that is open from May-October. Because our parking lot is big enough for horse trailers, RV’s and work trucks, you will often find working cowboys seated next to CEO’s of companies. Our customer base is large and we love ‘em all. Check us out next time you’re in Canby!
Meet the Business Owner
Joan M.
Business Owner
I grew up in Canby and graduated from Canby High School in 1984. I graduated from Oregon State University in 1991 with a degree in Commercial, Industrial Fitness. I married my high school sweatheart in 1992 and we are busy raising our 3 children in the town we grew up in. Throughout my life, I found great enjoyment working in the restaurant industry. In 1989 I was hired by my mentor JL Maixner at Wankers Corner in Stafford Oregon. I worked for Wankers Corner until 2003 when my husband and I started The Wild Hare. I am a hard working small business owner that takes great pride in my daily work. I enjoy working with my team of professionals so your experience is a pleasant one at my establishment. Thank you for being our guest and we hope you will return, again and again! God Bless!
