The Toast

Love the nutty crew at Toast!!! We love going there and getting the baked goods. Awesome!!! Coffee is really good too!

The Toast is a great addition to «downtown» Canastota and provides a nice spot to enjoy breakfast all while supporting local business, reading your paper, and enjoying a cup of coffee.
The décor is very unique here. The tables are funky and the seating is as well. It has a vintage diner feel that is offset by the iPads that are used for paying your bill. Service was quick — probably 10 – 15 minutes after we ordered (at the counter) our breakfast arrived piping hot. The food was pretty typical and nothing stood out — but diner breakfast usually isn’t supposed to be Michelin rated. However, the menu had some nice options for shakes and smoothies that I will be trying next time I’m there.
I hope The Toast is embraced by the community as it truly is nice to see some life breathed into a town like Canastota where good food options are thin as it is. I will be adding The Toast to my rotation of breakfast spots when I’m in the mood for a dine out breakfast.

I put off coming here because I thought it was «just another diner.» WOW! This place is a hidden gem and my new favorite restaurant. I’m telling everybody. Everything including their veggie burgers, salad dressings, pesto, soups, several bread choices, pastries (tiramisu filled cupcakes?!), etc., is homemade/​freshly baked – and utterly delicious. Great, friendly people, and very cool artwork on the walls (you can even buy some of it or commission a piece, all for affordable prices). A super cute place with very friendly people. They even have vegan and vegetarian dishes (are you kidding me!!! For real?!) as well as meat items.

This place is a great addition to downtown Canastota. Fresh food, a cool atmosphere, and good service at an affordable price. Canastota needs more fun, delicious spots like this.

Delicious toasts and smoothies; wonderful atmosphere. Not to be missed.
