Renaissance – The Goodie II Shoppe

1. RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL.
2. you can purchase anything in their shop off amazon for a cheaper price without the terrible attitude and treatment.
3. Went in at 4 in the afternoon to get a gift– on my way from Albany NY to visit my grandmother who was staying at Thompson hospital.
4. The women running the shop proceeded to follow me around the tiny shop & at one point one asked me «ARE you done». I was confused because their hours said they were open past 6pm (until 9 I believe).
5. they lied and told me they didn’t have what I was looking for– after 5 minutes of looking I found what they said they didn’t have.
6. upon checking out– the two women exclaimed that they could NOT believe that more people would think of coming in the shop.
these women were extremely unprofessional and had absolutely no posting of their decision to «close early». open sign was on, regular hours were posted and they did not verbally communicate their decision to this customer who walked in the door. Extremely disappointing.

I like the Goodie Shoppe for several reasons:
1. It’s on Main Street, Canandaigua and has been for years. Beautiful space.
2. You can find fun, charming items for any woman who likes floral, victorian, etc (not what I would call a funky, edgy shop).
3. They carry some really beautiful greeting cards. The kind you give to your mom, grandma and aunt.
4. Super friendly and helpful.
Downside? for the most part, all items are imported and not from the area. A bit more local representation would be awesome.
Still for a traditional gift shop, this one’s a winner!
