Tony Di Maggios Pizza

The stromboli and cannoli here are the best in town. The owners are extremely nice and friendly. The restaurant is tucked away in the neighborhood but its worth the hike!

Anyway, I wanted to try this place a few months ago, but it was closed when I stopped by… And I was having dinner with my niece who LOVES pizza. so I decided to give this place a try.
I ordered: Tony’s Combination Pizza, Spaghetti, and Garlic Bread.
First, it was kind of weird because they ran out of menus… as in. I don’t think have regular menu’s. just take-​out menus? It was weird because I walked in. and didn’t really get acknowledge for a few minutes… then a woman comes up and looks at me… I was expecting her to hand me a menu. but she asked me what I wanted instead. I asked for a menu. but she asked if I had internet on my phone. and to look it up online because they were out of menus…
Anyway, luckily for me, I use Unilocal.and Unilocal loaded the menu for me (my phone sucks. so when I tried using their site, it didn’t load properly). Given, there weren’t any prices (Prices Varies listed). I still ordered a medium pizza and pasta (way too much food for one adult and one child). It would have been nice for them to mention the pricing. but I assume they thought I saw it on their site? Which I have yet to go to. so I’m not even sure it’s there.
As for the food: The spaghetti. was nothing special. Although, I thought the pasta tasted fresh. in the sense that it was just cooked… I wouldn’t go as far to say that the pasta was homemade/​freshly made though… Oddly enough, the pasta came out last. Since I ordered the pasta, which comes with garlic bread, it would have been nice to be informed that I would already get it… instead of having way more than we needed. But I guess this worked out. because the «order» bread came out first. and we gobbled on this and was basically finished with it all before the pizza or the spaghetti came out. The garlic bread was alright. pretty tasty. but it might have been because we were hungry.
The pizza. was actually pretty good. I like how the bottom was nice and crispy. My niece enjoyed the pizza too. but we already filled up on the garlic bread. that we didn’t really get to eat much of the pizza fresh. Day old pizza (cold) was actually not too bad either.
Overall, this place was okay. I might come back for the pizza. but it’d probably be a while before I go back. since I don’t typically like pizza too much.
ADVICE: Check out their menu before going. and decide what you want. Although, I hope they’ve printed more menus!

Came here to try it out and loved it. The location had me second guessing it, cause I had no idea they had another location that’s been open for 30 years. The ravioli was great and Stromboli was just as good. If your in the area try it out you won’t be disappointed. Good workers too very friendly and great service.

Not the cheapest, but some of the best pizza in town.

I wanted to try the famous Stromboli everyone raves about. Im not a big mustard person so I requested it be left off. I was told they don’t take substitutions.
I understand when somebody feels there is only one way to eat something, but refusing a simple request to keep their mustard? c’mon.
Life is too short to accept bad customer service so Ill stick with Blue Line or The Garret in Campbell.

I don’t get the hype over the stromboli. I mean… cheese, meat, and bread are all delicious. but a meal it does not make. Also, I thought it was bland bland bland. Hardly any flavor! And they must’ve forgotten to add the mustard sauce because I did not taste it at all!
Perhaps I’ll give ‘em another shot in the future. Perhaps not.
Although, I agree that the marinara is pretty solid.

Get the Stromboli. Don’t get a sandwich, don’t get the pizza, get the stromboli! What is a stromboli? It’s a relative of the calzone. It has meat, cheese, this fabulously mustardy sauce, BOMB.
This place is a bit off the beaten path, but you’ll definitely get parking. Support the small businesses!

I grew up getting stromboli & pizza from their Monterey Rd. location and while good enough to make a trip across town for, I haven’t made that trip. It’s been close to 10 years since I’ve eaten there and I’ve missed it. Much to my surprise I stumbled across their second location while messing around on Unilocal one night…
It’s as good as I remember it.
It is in a really odd location, in a little tiny strip mall in the middle of a neighborhood. It’s pretty far off the beaten path but it’s worth a trip. The restaurant itself is nothing special. Cheap furniture, a little bar, a couple TVs but the food is really good. Really good. Give it a shot.
They do lose one star because they aren’t open for lunch.

Being a New Yorker at heart, any restaurant with the name DiMaggio’s must be good… lol
There are no words to truly describe how much I love the Stromboli here. I can say this tho, I have passed up sex just so I could fill my tummy with a Stromboli. Now you know that has to be some good eats! :) I take all of my out of town friends here. I make believers out of almost everyone.
I have been going to the original DiMaggios on Monterey Highway since I moved to San Jose 15 years ago. It is in a rough neighborhood and can attract a little bit of a rough crowd. Having said that though, the power of the Stromboli is strong enough to make sure everyone behaves so I can honestly say I would bring my God kids here. The old school ambience and almost rude service adds to the appeal for me. People always ask me what it is like to eat at a dive in NYC. I tell them to visit DiMaggio’s for a good example of the Brooklyn experience.
This is a MUST TRY restaurant and I will give everyone this one piece of advice. Don’t come here if you want pizza or pasta or anything else. They are famous for their STROMBOLI. Order anything else and you are rolling the dice! Also, I like the one on San Tomas. Super clean and a lot friendlier. I lived in NYC long enough, I don’t need the experience :)

I have gone here several times over the years. I was craving a Stromboli and I figured it would be a great treat. We placed a phone order and picked it up to bring home. All the other times I have gone, it’s been good but this last time was disappointing.
Overall the people are nice and the prices are OK.
I’d give the Stromboli another shot since before my last experience it was pretty good.

I had a fraternity brother come into town for a visit and he really likes spaghetti, but unlike me does not like going to real fancy four star restaurants.
I quickly found this place on Unilocal that seemed to fit the bill. I printed out the directions and picked up my frat brother and off we went deep into the residential area of Campbell.
Unlike other establishments they have you place your order and they pay after you are done.
My guest had the spaghetti with sausage and I had the meat ravioli with the $ 3.00 side salad and two drinks. My guest really enjoyed his entrée and salad and that the place was very casual. We had dinner for two for under $ 30!
Great friendly ambiance of a small town pizza and pasta place and worth the drive.

The Pizza: Extra thin crust, extra cheese, mushrooms, ½ black olives and ½ pepperoni and a plate of spaghetti & meatballs. The meatballs at just the right spices and almost the size of a baseball — one or two is more than enough. Didn’t get to have the Stomboli but hope to try next time!
The staff of wondergul and friendly and the restaurant is very clean. It rival’s my hometown’s pasta joint and I know I will be back doen this way often! It’s a must for a casual but satisfying meal. GO!!!

My good friend Adrean has always sweared by the stromboli at their Monterey Rd location, so this review has been a while in the making…
Very nice. They use quality ingredients, (Stanislaus tomato products are a definite sign of good things to come), and this is reflected in the taste.
The décor here isn’t much to look at, but the service is friendly and the prices are very fair…
The stromboli are wonderful. Very tasty and filling for under $ 7. The mustard inside offers an interesting kick, but I definitely will be back…

Tony DiMaggio’s is known for their amazing stromboli’s and rightfully so, I just don’t think enough love is given to their pizza at times. Through no fault of their own, Tony DiMaggio’s has managed to make the taste of their stromboli basically trump everything else that they offer. The pizza is definitely nothing to scoff at, probably the freshest pizza I’ve had in a very long time.
We ordered the Tony’s Special which included pepperoni, sausage, bell peppers, olives, etc, which would be a standard combination anywhere else. The pizza was prepared with fresh ingredients, the crust was a pan crust but almost had a thin-​crust style crispness, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
The stomboli was excellent! We ordered the medium because I kept hearing about how the large could adequately satisfy the appetites of two hungry adults. I intend to tackle this on my own next time.
The service was good, but spotty at times. There was a 15 minute interval where I tried to get a refill but couldn’t because the employees went into the back and decided not to come out until much later. This experience, however, did not deter me one bit and I will most certainly return.

My husband and I discovered this place after checking out Unilocal for nearby places to eat. We have been looking for a pizza place that is not Round Table that makes a really good pizza. We finally found it with DiMaggio’s.
Its located on San Tomas Aquino in the middle of a residential neighborhood. Its not east to find but well worth the search to find it. The crust for the pizza is so good and and the sauce, well I could eat that on it own.
You have to get the stromboli. Cheesy, oozing goodness. And it comes with a side of their sauce. Don’t think about it and just order it, you will be happy you did.

This place rocks! When I went to go find this place, I was starting to think I got lost because I ended up in a residential neighborhood. DiMaggio’s opened up about 8 months ago in a small shopping center located in a bit of a strange location. All around it, is housing and the shopping center is small. But hey, it works! Inside is fairly large and all brand new looking. Large tv’s to watch games and plenty of space for large parties.
What I immediately loved about this place was the staff. They were very friendly and welcoming. Nobody was inside but the place itself got great reviews so I decided to check it out.
I ordered the wings and the Stromboli. Both were delicious and did not disappoint. They also serve pizza here but I guess they are known best for the Stromboli. It was hard for me to find a review that was for pizza. However, If the rest of the food is any indication, I would put money on it that the pizza is great as well.
The guy who I am going to presume is the owner, was kind enough to even come out and give me my order and a warning about the food being hot. He also let me know about the sauce which was not exactly in a spill proof container. But the fact that he let me know this, shows how important the customer service is to them. I’m excited to have found this place. I will for sure be back.

I was craving their Stromboli the other day, and went to their website to get the link to send to a friend and noticed a new location… Awesome! We were about to drive to Monterey Rd, glad I checked the site.
So this place is clean, open and not crowded at all. We were here on Giants opening night ³⁄₃₁ and all the flat screens had the game on and it was still very mellow in there. We left right before the Sharks game started, but I am hoping they would have dedicated at least one tv to hockey!
Employees were super, super nice and accommodating. They wanted to make sure we had everything we needed and were enjoying our visit. Very nice. My son has never had Stromboli before, so they were questioning him about how he liked it and asked if he would come back. He said he would! (not that he would have a choice)
Anyway, sadly they only have 2 desserts on the menu. When I went to order my beloved Tiramisu, they came back a couple minutes later and said they were out of it. I am going to knock off one star for that… on a super busy weekend I could understand that. On a slow Thursday evening I cant. However, the guy said their Tiramisu is woooonderfull.
So yes, of course we will be back, of course of course, oh and they have Sierra Nevada Pale Ale on tap!

ORDER THE STROMBOLI! Really cheesy so if cheese isn’t your thing, avoid! Tasty variety of meats inside of the crust topped with marinara sauce.
Better than La Villa — Big enough to share! Meatballs are top notch, and LARGE! Friendly staff.
Great for take out — especially when Chinese and Japanese just aren’t cutting it. Large portions. I really like the house salad.
My recommendations — Meatball pizza, spaghetti and meatballs, and the stomboli of course.
The feel of this place is really cool too in case you feel like dining in. Nice TVs. DiMaggio’s is a fantastic hidden Campbell gem of a restaurant.

I grew up going to the one on Monterey Road and it’s still the best place to get stromboli. My whole family takes time to trek here from as far away as Antioch. The stromboli at Di Maggio’s II is just as good. Lots of cheese melted in with ham and sausage. Love the mustard inside. Definitely worth trying. Always get a large though. The end pieces are mostly bread :)

This location is tucked into a small Campbell neighborhood and I hope they make it because they deserve to.
You get stromboli here and you get it one way. The guy who took forever in front of me I wanted to slap for his ignorance.
Order 1 large stromboli for 2 people or 1 large 1 medium for 2 pigs. Don’t ask questions, just do it, you won’t regret it.
I like the ambience and setup of this Dimaggios over the original. Nice TVs/​dining area.

Waited with baited breath the day they opened. Ordered within moments of opening on opening day. Reviewed within minutes of receiving and while still diving in!

These guys could not be more accommodating.
Last night we had a huge group come in and out and they did not even bat an eye lash.
I had not had stromboli in a minute and this place totally satisfied my craving. When you take the first bite/​cut there is a massive lava flow of ooey gooey cheese that completely covers the bottom of the to-​go container/​pizza plate. it is a beautiful thing. Lots of cheese (to say the least) and meat.
THIS IS NOT CALAZONE TERRITORY… DON’T ASK.
NO IT IS NOT BURGER KING YOU CAN’T HAVE IT YOUR WAY.
They make their stromboli one way only… I appreciate their integrity and drawing a line in the sand.
Their wings aren’t half bad either :-).
The cannoli was yummy. Not overly sweet and the shell was super crisp.
Bathrooms are clean, two huge TVs with baseball…
