Specialties

Here at Park Vasona Automotive, we specialize in all levels of repair on most makes and models. Anything from basic oil changes and scheduled maintenance, to major engine repair. We also repair and replace components of exhaust systems including catalytic converters and mufflers. Air conditioning service and diagnosis, tire repair and replacement, struts and shock absorbers are other repairs we specialize in as well. The one area we specialize in more than others is customer service. We value our customers more than anything and will never sell a service or repair if it is not needed.

History

Established in 2004.

Park Vasona Automotive has been serving our customers in the Campbell/​Los Gatos area since the 1960’s. Our current location is at 3303 S. Winchester Blvd. Suite #1. We are grateful that our friends, neighbors, long time customers, and people we grew up with remember us and visit us for all their automotive service and repair needs. We are skilled, efficient, and we’ve got the experience to take good care of you and your vehicle.

I have been repairing vehicles professionally since 2002. I grew up in Oakland, Ca and fixed my first car at the age of 13. Growing up my father owned a body shop and that’s how I became interested in cars. He taught me the basics and put me to work fixing his Toyota pick up. Once i got to high school I took auto shop and passed at the top of the class. From there i went on to take some advanced courses at the local community college and got my first job as a mechanic in 2002. Working on cars is a passion for me but more than that helping people is really what gets me going. I take great pride in my work and treat every car as if it belonged to my mother. I look forward to providing you with the highest level of service at a fair price.

I went to this place randomly after trying to buy a car next door, and they asked about the repair on my truck I was about to give up on it and Matt gave me a honest guesstamation and I took it In to make a long story short it’s fixed runs better than I could of imagined and was well in my budget and was repaired quick and all my old parts were visible were I could see that i wasn’t lied
recommend this place to anyone looking for a honest American mechanic shop in the Bay Area I’ve been to at least 10 different shops in the San Jose Campbell area! Thanks again!

I have been bringing my BMW here for many years and have always had a great experience. When mike took over as new owner a few months ago, not only did the place not skip a beat, but he brought an extra dose of care. Never have i had a mechanic care so much about a car, and his client. It has been a pleasure to have mike work on my car as he does quick and excellent work. As long as im in the bay area no one else will touch my car. I recommend this place to everyone in my life and anyone who will listen. You will not be disappointed.

Matt was great. Fast Service for cheap. Nice small 2 man shop.
I used to drive to Milpitas in the past. Glad there is a place closer to my house.

Nothing but good things to say here. Mike was amazing. Not only did he correctly diagnose the problem with my car but was able to get it repaired quickly and kept me in the loop of what he was doing. It’s rare to find an auto repair person who is as honest and knowledgable as him. It felt as if he was working on his own car! And to top it all off, when I called him I was stranded on the highway so he called a tow truck for me and got my car delivered to his shop — then generously drove me home (45 mins away!!!) while he worked on my car. That’s not just customer service, that’s just good human decency and helping someone out when they are really in need. And oh by the way, I have never met Mike before — so I was a total stranger to him.

My 06 Dodge Sprinter check engine light has been on. I happened to be near Park Vasona Automotive, so I asked the owner, Mike to check it. In less than 10 minutes he told me the issues and cleared the check engine light for no charge!

I had three problems with Park Vasona’s smog check. They «accidentally» charged me $ 400 instead of $ 40 for the smog check. It took 2 days for the first charge to post to my account. It totally messed up my bank account and I was charged a few overdraft protection fee amounts because of this one issue. Second, Park Vasona said they credited my account for the $ 360 different plus the amount of the first overdraft charge. However, that was days ago and it hasn’t posted yet! I regret handing them my debit card. My car passed the smog check, however, a couple days later the check engine light went on! In the years I’ve owned the car it has never gone on! So this is a correlation which means not a proven connection to the smog check but I wonder if it’s connect to something they did. Call me paranoid but I wonder! A third thing went wrong but I don’t want to say that «in public.» If you insist on going to this place for a smog check DO NOT give them your credit or debit card. Pay cash and buyer beware.

Excellent Service. Very clean shop and got me in right away on a Saturday morning.
They proactively quoted me the discounted price over the phone, which is a novelty these days.
I was in and out in 20 minutes and made a typically painful experience very easy.
Highly recommend for people living in Los Gatos and Campbell.

Wow! I’m surprised to see any negative reviews.
We’ve taken three cars there, several times, for various issues from smog check to new brakes and everything in between. We’ve literally NEVER had a problem with a fair estimate, reasonable prices and easy to work with mechanics. It’s such a relief to find a great place to take the cars! They are right around the corner, they’re honest, efficient and thorough, and I’ve never had a single issue with any repair they’ve ever done.
I highly recommend them.

Happy with STAR Smog Check
I called on a Monday morning to schedule a STAR smog check and was told to come in anytime. I arrived around 1:00. The shop has one station for smog checks, so I sat in a comfortable chair (no waiting room or wifi) and did some work for 10 – 20 minutes while they finished with the car in front of mine. The shop is clean and well-​maintained, the mechanics courteous, professional, and efficient. AND there’s a smog check coupon on the shop website (I have a smaller car, which ran about $ 50 w/​coupon). This might not be the place to go if you’re squeezing a fifteen-​minute appointment in during rush hour, but with a little bit of flexibility on a Monday afternoon, it was perfect.

Hmmmmm… yeah, I’m debating between one and two stars. I went in for a brake and light check because they were recommended by the DMV website… let me just tell ya… think twice. The car passed the light check, but not the break check. I needed new brake lines. Which is fine. They then quoted me to do the work there, this is separate from the brake and light check fee of $ 105 of course. I instead took the car to my mechanic to have the brake lines changed and the savings was over $ 190. Big difference. Question, question, question everything. This is where I started getting skeptical. Here’s the kicker, I bring the car back to get the brake test done and I get charged an additional $ 65 dollars additional to the initial $ 105. He never mentioned that there would be an additional fee. I came to the conclusion that he was just mad because I didn’t get the brake line work done with him. It only took him about 20 minutes to do the brake inspection and that was worth $ 65 dollars. RIP-​OFF! I expressed my concern for the fee and he just shrugged it off. He then came back and said he would only charge $ 50. Totally sketch.
Moral of the story: If you want to get great service and reasonable pricing, go elsewhere. I wouldn’t recommend this to any of my friends and after a $ 155 brake and light check, I’ll take my business elsewhere. I plan to inform the DMV about this too. Okay, I think I’ll go with two stars because it was a sunny day.

Had to have my car inspected for brakes and lights, but had a problem. The mechanic that last worked on it, at Midas, didn’t return my wheel lock key. The team at Park Vasona was able to assist with this, for a decent price, and I ended up getting all the work done that was necessary to get me back on the road.
I would definitely recommend them to friends, and will use their services in the future!

Fast, Friendly, Helpful
I called these guys on Wednesday afternoon and asked if they could fit me in on Thursday morning and they said «sure see you at 8:30». They were ready for me and got started right away. They knew that my car needed to be tested warm, which some places don’t understand. The whole thing took just about 30 minutes. They were very friendly and even checked my tire pressure. Great Experience.

We brought one car here for a smog test. They were prompt and the price was $ 100. I’m from Minnesota so I don’t know if that’s a good price or not.
Later my husband and I brought our other car here for an oil change, and to get it checked out before making the long drive back to snow country. We also knew that we had a dirty cabin air filter that Jiffy Lube had said they could replace for $ 50. Park Vasona did the same job for half that price. They checked out the car and gave us a realistic assessment (brake shoes will be fine for the trip home, but will need replacing soon) without pushing any repairs on us.
I haven’t had them do any big jobs, but for the two things they did, they seemed fair and reasonable.

I needed a «regular» smog test (not test-​only, etc.) The service was fast and the guys are friendly, and they accepted the $ 20 off coupon that I randomly found on the net. However, the total charge after the coupon was $ 50, which seems a bit high to me. Maybe it’s a great deal, I’m not sure.

This establishment falsely advertises that it is open on Saturdays. It is not. I purchased their Unilocal deal with the intention of visiting them on Saturday for a smog. I got to the location only to learn that they are never open on Saturdays.
