I have been eating at Hawaiian BBQ since I was a wee lad, and came across this one because my new job is nearby. This one, much like all the others will NOT dissapoint! Katsu Chicken is a popular thing to try here, which will indeed, put you in park with a most intense food coma. I personally like the Katsu, but I also can never leave without a Spam Masubi! Sticky rice, with a piece of spam wrapped in seaweed! Absolute bliss my friends! The service here never dissapoints me either! Shout out to David at the counter, that kid rocks! All the cashiers there are always really friendly! The place is very clean and well-maintained too! Overall; good prices for good quality, well-proportioned food, and awesome customer service!

This place is such a disappointment. I don’t know why I attempt to return here, as if by chance they changed their act. The restaurant is disgustingly dirty. The cashier is rude. The food is greasy and if you buy the beef, it is rotten! Hate. Hate. Hate this place. Spare yourself and go to the one on Coleman!

The food is good but the meat was very salty, even mixed in with the rice and cabbage. The macaroni was very interesting too. $ 10.45 for a mixed place with a short rib, two chicken thighs, and beef is fairly priced. I am giving it three stars because there is no 3 ½ rating and the average is at 4 so my rating balances it out. Another thing that makes it only 3.5 is that they do not give water cups due to soda theft, which I think is ridiculous. All in all, a decent eat for a decent price.

I’m so glad that this is here! I crave Hawaiian frigid sometimes. My favorites are chicken katsu curry with Mac salad and rice, BBQ chicken, and all the musubis. I can always eat these! Yum! It just brings me back to home. Yum!

I come here for lunch at least once a week or sometimes twice a week from work. The waiter at lunch time is very nice and gets all our order just right. I always get chicken katsu because they made it that good. Anyways, will continue lunching here for a while.

My family and I recently had dinner at L&L and were very pleased with the food, as well as service. The poi however, was bitter. Other than that, I loved the BBQ chicken!

THISPLACEACTUALLYDESERVED A ZEROFORMEBUTTHATWASN’T ANOPTION.(This is my opinion off of my personal experience) I guess we all have our good and bad experiences but from the reviews I feel like we went to an entirely different place with what we experienced but NOPE this was the place. Let me start with I just signed up and wanted to give a review although our experience was during the 2011 summer. I have always wanted to try this place since I always heard good things so on a summer evening my children and I stopped to grab dinner and attempted to go through the drive thru(1st bad clue) but to my surprise the drive thru was broken =0(so we had to go in. While debating what we wanted I noticed the place looked a bit filthy the floor in particular and while glancing over that saw a roach on its back in riga mortis status. =0S(2nd clue) Yes, with the fact if this place couldn’t afford a drive thru and can’t clean the place which has a noticeable roach possible problem I SHOULDHAVERANFORTHEHILLS. but nope I hoped for the best that maybe the roach came in thru the door like we did. =0S. So, we get our food and what do you know my poor son got two hairs in his mouth from two different entrees… YUUUUUUUUUUUUCK! my poor poor son. we disinfected his mouth I made a complaint and will never return. Not to mention the food just didn’t seem fresh even after 20 min of waiting! Unfortunately, this place ruined it for all the others. I will just hit up my fella Hawaiians for some authentic food.

Warning: This is a biased review. I am giving 4 stars for food only, but I have a CAVEAT. I recently had L & L cater a party and I’d have to say that I was misinformed with the amount of people a full tray feeds. For example, a full tray of Chicken Katsu is expected to feed 20 – 25 people. I think not. I had 70 guests who ate 75% of the tray. Example #2: A full tray of mac salad, which is suppose to feed 20 – 25 people, weighs 20 lbs!!! When was the last time you ate a pound of mac salad? Even after giving away pounds of food away, I still had lots of leftovers that I had to dispose of. If L & L gave better guidelines, I would have been satisfied. C’mon L&L, do the math!

Interesting concept mixing Polynesian and BBQ foods. Went in solo for lunch and tried out the seafood combo. OMG there was so much food. My combo($ 8.75) consisted of: 3 shrimp, 1 piece of fish, a pile of BBQ chicken(equivalent to maybe ¼ of a chicken), 2 scoops of steamed white rice, and a scoop of macaroni salad. The shrimp were deep fried and tasted awesome. The fish had a nice light batter coating and also tasted very good. The chicken was a little rubbery and the BBQ flavor was very subdued, would have liked a little more flavor to it. Steamed rice was cooked just right, not at all crunchy or undercooked as can sometimes happen. Surprisingly the star of the meal for me was the macaroni salad. Very basic with just macaroni and some carrots, but it was served at room temperature and just had an incredible taste and texture. I was really unsure about the concept of Hawaiian BBQ and was not quite sure about what to expect when I went in. After eating the meal I kind of get it and could totally see eating this type of food while sitting on some beach in the islands. The service was friendly and the cost is definitely in line with the enormous amount of food you get. The downside for me was the cleanliness of the location. The building is totally rundown and looks like there have been no improvements since the Weinerschnitzel that used to occupy the place closed down(couldn’t even tell you how many years it’s been). The inside was also kind of dirty, looked like it hadn’t been swept in a while and some of the fixtures were not aging well. I’ll definitely be back, but I’ll probably keep my shades on.

Alright it’s not going to compare to the islands nor would I expect it to really. It doesn’t have some of the favorites that I enjoy while visiting my parents. No pipi kuala or squid lua. They do have some of the staples kalua pig, lua lua, Teri beef, chicken katsu, and of course spam saimin. For this review i enjoyed the chicken katsu mini plate lunch serve with a scoop of rice and mac salad. The chicken was light and crispy with a light sweet bbq sauce on the side. Rice was sticky which is essential and the mac salad was okay. Not as good as the one that is served at zippys which i think uses miracle whip instead of traditional mayonase. The price was reasonable at about 5.75 for a mini which was more than enough to be filling. In conclusion I would not say that this is a close comparison to my island favorites(highway inn, Nancy’s kitchen, and Zippys) but it is easy and laid back like the food on the island is supposed to be served unpretentious and on a styrofoam plate.

L&L is just excellent. Friendly. Tender flavorful meats, starchy wonderful sides. Go hungry, say YUM! And keep going back for more…
