My whole life my experience with dentists has always been an extremely painfully negative one. When I got a toothache last week my boyfriend gave me a list of Unilocal dentists, after a few phone calls we decided this was the place. They are seriously the most amazing dentists I’ve ever encountered! Dr. Klein and Dr. Kono made sure I was comfortable from the moment I walked in to the moment I left! The establishment is beautiful, well maintained, and relaxing. They really went above and beyond. I am so happy with my experience that I have already recommended them twice in the last 3 days.

I come from a family of dentists: father, uncle, brother, cousin. I’ve been to dental conventions with my father and have met many, many dentists. Dr. Klein is OUTSTANDING. Outstanding, one of a kind.
I’ve actually never seen a doctor so, so thorough, so purely professional, so not into selling or shaving off time but truly devoted to dental care and practice. He, his wife and his office are very personable and it’s super pleasant to come there.
What’s more he refers to specialists where many dentists would themselves ‘practice’ the procedure. If you need veneers, a crown, cosmetics, any kind of restoration or general dentistry, you’ll thank yourself if you go to Dr. Klein.

I’ve been through a few different dentists, and I gotta say Dr. Klein is the best. He is the best I’ve ever experienced. He’s done about 3 root canals on my teeth and and countless fillings and he is really good at what he does. I couldn’t feel the injections of the anesthetic at all, which is my biggest fear. And he is very comforting. He is a master of his trade. Everything is smooth and painless every time.

Dr Klein did all my cap work from three implants. I must say this was one of the most clean and friendly offices I have been to in years. It was difficult work in the lower back of my Jaw and had evolved bone grafts from the first dentist that put in the steel anchors. Dr Klein handled himself in a very professional manner and the work completed on my teeth I would rate as excellent. In fact you should know that I flew in from San Diego to have all the implant work done in the Campbell area by two dentist with Dr Klein being one of them. I was not happy with the answers I was getting from the Dentist in San Diego on my implants. While on a fishing trip in Alaska I got a recommendation from one the fellows on the trip to call the two Dentist in Campbell and go in from pr exam which I did. After hearing what they said and how the work would proceed I said yes. It took me over a period of a year to get the work complete because of the grafts and number of teeth that had to be worked on. I traveled back and forth from San Diego to Campbell 6 times during that year until the work was done. All the cost to complete this, I had to pay all this for myself as I do not have dental insurance. Comparing the cost to quotes I received in San Diego I would have to say both dentist were very fare in their rates for doing the work. My only draw back is I am to far away to come up for regular check ups. If I lived in the area Dr Klein would be on the top of my list for myself and kids for our family dental work.

Little history… I have had a long history of dental care starting when I was about 12 – 13 years old when I crashed my bicycle down a hill. I lost one front tooth and a ½ of the other. Needless to say, i have seen quite a few dentists in my 35 years of life.
In my opinion Dr. Klein is the most knowledgable and handled me with the most care i have experienced. I have been going to Dr. Klein for atleast 7 years now. He is very accomodating with appointments and will always make time for me if i have an emergency. The office is always very clean and comphortable. I recommend Dr. Klein to all of my loved ones and friends as I know they will be in good hands.
True story-​My husband actually had a partial tooth fall out on Christmas of all days and we called Dr. Klein for an emergency appointment and Dr. Klein met him at the office within an hour or so to fix his tooth before our big dinner. We were so relieved. If that is not service I do not know what is! My husband has been a client ever since then as well. We are so blessed to have found Dr. Klein, he is truly an outstanding dentist.

My first visit with Dr. Klein was over a year ago, maybe August of 2011. I found him through the Yellow Pages where his half-​page ad offered a free second opinion, which I wanted after emergency treatment at Western Dental. Besides just liking the tone of the ad, I thought, like Vince, the Sham-​Wow guy, that Germans do good work. I called and made an appointment
The office is very well kept, especially the waiting area, which I found to have some thoughtful features. Acting as the receptionist was Dr. Klein’s wife, Dr. Kono. Dr. Klein himself began taking my medical history. Everything was computerized — the paperless office. This is a bit of a concern because only after you electronically sign your agreement and assent do you receive a paper copy to know exactly what you agreed to.
Dr. Klein’s initial examination revealed that one tooth, a rear molar, was beyond restoration. We made an appointment for an extraction. That went well except Dr. Klein refused to prescribe anything for the subsequent pain and discomfort of having a tooth pulled. Even after my insistence, the doctor refused to prescribe something for the pain. Instead, he suggested alternating doses of ibuprofen and acetaminophen in addition to alternating hold and cold wet compresses. That worked well enough only because I could take off work. I wondered if Dr. Klein was one of those new age doctors who didn’t believe in drugs, especially for pain relief.
Regardless, I made another appointment for a complete examination to create a treatment plan. With two annoyances, it was the most thorough and meticulous examination I have even had from a dentist. During our follow-​up discussion, Dr. Klein presented me with several alternatives for treatment. One requirement was for a root canal on two separate teeth. Dr. Klein does not perform these and referred me to another dentist.
That is an annoyance because the other dentist would only perform the root canal therapy and not the subsequent restoration, that is, a crown. Not only does that mean multiple trips to two different dentists, it increases the cost to the patient. That was the first of several annoyances with Dr. Klein.
The second annoyance was not revealing during the examination that there would be a charge for digital photographs of my mouth. When the doctor asked permission to take photos, I thought he was asking as a courtesy, to ask if I felt up to it or if I had any objections. Only when I went to pay for the examination did I learn that the digital photographs were an additional $ 80.00.
Because of the trouble of going back and forth between Dr. Klein and another dentist, I had the work done by my former dentist in Dublin, which is really too far for me to travel on a regular basis, which was one reason I chose Dr. Klein in the first place: he is convenient to where I now live. Even if I had used Dr. Klein’s referral there would have been a problem in scheduling quick work because Dr. Klein’s office was closed for the month of October (same in 2012 as in 2011). That tells you to schedule your toothaches around that month when there is no one in his office to tend to you.
Even though Dr. Klein had encouraged me to use e-​mail to contact him, pledging to respond promptly, messages sent to both

were ignored. We lost contact. In October of 2012, the result of my attempt to re-​establish contact was a major disappointment and led to my deciding to never use the services of Drs. Klein and Kono again. See my other review for more information about his, in my opinion, lack of professional ethics.

I was due to return to Dr. Klein for the placement of two posts (on teeth he had performed root canals on), but some health issues arose and caused me to cancel a few appointments I had with him. Since I personally do not think it is fair to waste a providers time by making appointments and continuously canceling, I clearly stated that I would be in touch when my condition improved. It hasn’t, so I never rescheduled.
Last week, I received a condescending letter from his office informing me that I HAD to schedule an appointment prior to today (10÷12÷12). I immediately emailed him (I wanted everything in writing for legal reasons) and explained that I was having medical issues that are scheduled to be address, but that I probably would not be ready to resume treatment until December or January. His response was a lengthy email telling me how important it was to continue treatment and what I should be doing at home (as if I didn’t already know!), that waiting until December/​January was not acceptable and that I needed to contact his office before his arbitrary deadline.
Since I am currently so ill I can’t even drive myself, I needed to try and make arrangements with my husband so that he could take me. My husband, unfortunately, had jury duty this week and was tied up. I kept Dr. Klein apprised of the situation. When it was clear that this week was shot, I emailed him again suggesting that we schedule something tentatively for after his month-​long vacation. I made two attempts to do this. Apparently, he was unhappy with his, because he never responded.
Then my mother gave me an excellent idea — hit him where it hurts. I then requested that he provide me a full refund for the posts and work that has yet to be completed. Crickets…
Not only was he completely unfair by imposing an arbitrary deadline, but when he didn’t get his way he completely stopped communicating with me. He behaved like a child who did not get his way. He also had absolutely no regard for the fact that I am very ill and need to address my medical issues. I am now waiting for the refund by the «arbitrary deadline» I imposed!

Great dentist and Karen Thur is an excellent hygienist.
My family went to Dr. Klein for about five years. We finally changed dentists because he’s not part of Delta Dental and DD has significantly reduced the coverage amount for out of network dentists.
Clean office with a large movie selection. He also has computerized all your x rays so he can bring up any tooth and you can see it on the TV. He’s very personable.
I’d also add that his hygienist, Karen Thur, is quite possibly the best hygienist my wife and I have had. She’s extremely thorough. Face it, for your six month appointments, the bulk of the work is done by the hygienist so the quality of the hygienist should be equally important when selecting a dentist.
